Oh, maybe. It depends on how lazy some of us are.

Obama has lost a lot of traction in the last few days. I wonder why?

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 31, 2007 -> 03:40 PM) Mrs. Clinton, while trying to illustrate her experience by proxy as the First Lady, has this gem in the Trib: So, the fact that she was allowed classified access and access to high level decision makers without ever being elected or even having a security clearance is a GOOD thing? She wants it both ways so bad... I hate this lady. And I don't hate anyone.

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Dec 31, 2007 -> 12:12 AM) Just on Mars, from someone who really doesn't know much about space and stuff like that, when do you think we are actually going to have people land on the planet? By the end of this century I would be hoping at least. According to George W Bush, by 2030.

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 29, 2007 -> 04:44 PM) Here is another thought too. If its a political boondoggle, that means that politicians have something to gain from it. Does that make any sense here? I mean, they are all so heavily influenced by big oil, not to mention trying to get money for projects in their districts, that the last thing they want is to spend money on something that doesn't have a reward for their peeps. I just don't see the motivation they supposedly have. Quite the contrary I think. Their "gain" is power and control of how the money is spent, not who is making it.

QUOTE(Steff @ Dec 28, 2007 -> 04:50 AM) A few days late - seems to be the norm these days :-) Hope everyone had a nice Christmas. Man, she sure does sleep a lot... Hope things are going well for you, Steff.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Dec 28, 2007 -> 02:39 AM) And in return, you know what bothers me? The "Either we must do absolutely nothing or we must do exactly as we are doing" attitude that prevails. I.e. either we must invade Iraq or we do absolutely nothing about them. Just because unconditional support for Mussharraf to the point of trying to use Bhutto to keep him in power and dumping tens of billions of dollars in cash on the Pakistani Security services with no accountability whatsoever has been the Bush Administration's policy doesn't mean that the only 2 logical options are either you support the Bush Administration's policy or you sit back and do nothing. Well, I for one, if you read what I say, understands that what we are doing is not working, yet, we can't have it both ways (completely hands off... and then cry when something happens).

Illegal aliens packing up and leaving Arizona.

QUOTE(Middle Buffalo @ Dec 27, 2007 -> 05:08 PM) I totally agree. Illegal immigrants are the biggest problem facing the US today - and not at all an election year issue meant to distract voters. We've finally balanced the trillion dollar deficit, our health care system is in the best shape it's ever been, the formerly decaying infrastructure has been repaired with much hard work, the war in Iraq has been a resounding success (money well spent), and the President's approval rating is reflected in these successes. America has never claimed to be the land of opportunity. America has never made an effort to bring freedoms to people from other lands. America is the land of the free, home of the brave. Just stay the hell out. And our government will fix all your sarcasm too. -
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Dec 28, 2007 -> 01:22 AM) Since the U.S. started dumping tens of billions of dollars into the Pakistani security services that were supposed to do the protecting of her, and perhaps since the U.S. arranged for her return to the country and arranged for the power-sharing agreement that was supposed to stabilize that country. This sort of stuff bothers me about "liberals". It really pisses me off that they're blaming "America" but yet if we get involved, we're the reason everything is s***, and if we sit back, we're the reason everything is s***. How nice.

Huckabee is AWFUL. And I mean worse then Guiliani awful.

Well... aside from all the "news" posts... I still just cannot get a good feeling about Obama. I saw his "closing arguements" speech, and it's all the same "hoopla"... all feel good, no real substance. Since the "younger" folks tend to support Obama, he's going to lose Iowa. Edwards might surprise (again, I think I just threw up). If Obama does win Iowa (which I hope he does) he will hopefully gain enough momentum to throw Hillarity a scare. But I still think she wins the nomination because she's just too much of a old school candidate, and when people scream they want change, they don't vote that way. That's why we have the idiot in the White House that we do right now...
-
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Dec 27, 2007 -> 10:45 PM) Bayh: Bhutto's killing shows why we need Hillary. I think I just threw up a little.

This is going to get ugly...
-
QUOTE(Reddy @ Dec 24, 2007 -> 09:36 PM) me too, leading the Edwards charge in Iowa City. One part of me says job well done to be out there working for your guy. The other part says I hope he gets skunked.

Nah, no media bias there...

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 26, 2007 -> 03:06 PM) Then we have this. October home prices fall a record 6.7% in October (rate annualized), the biggest ever drop for the 10-city Case-Shiller index. The 20-city version fell 6.1%. Chicago at -3.2% annual-equivalent actually fared better than most. And look what market fared the best... Dallas. I've been telling people since I've moved here that the market here is IDEAL for many reasons.

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 21, 2007 -> 07:10 PM) Which falls right in line with the early reports about Black Friday. Strong start. But there have been negative indications in December, and I think those will turn out to hold too. Total sales will be disappointing. I'll tell you what, the stores yesterday were PACKED, and I say that compared to Black Friday. I was out both days and there was no comparison. You couldn't even find a parking spot in most places yesterday (Christmas Eve).

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 23, 2007 -> 04:07 PM) Well, Bayh is Clinton's VP pick anyway - I'd bet on it. Though I wouldn't be surprised if Richardson had been expecting, as a backup plan, to be Hillary's SecState. Maybe he now knows that won't happen. Like I said, Billy was told he wasn't getting in on Hillarity's pie... so all of a sudden, the "attacks" start. Of course, this might make her administration "tougher" because there aren't "yes men"...

QUOTE(NUKE @ Dec 24, 2007 -> 06:50 AM) I believe you misunderstood what I said. Read it again closely and then buy me a number 4 combo meal. Ah... eh.... Numero Cuatro, largo, por favor. Bebe Coca-Cola. Sin Hielo. Gracias! (And to think, I didn't even have to look this up... ) -
Now, someone else must be the dad, because he's not plushie... Seriously, Congrats!!

I'll need to get some SCSI drives. I just picked up a "new" (used) server that I will probably co-locate... if it's good when I get it up, it's probably the new home for ST. If it's a dog, it's part fodder for e-bay.
-
QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Dec 21, 2007 -> 03:10 PM) I dont think he ever was a VP candidate with Clinton. She wants a close friend or fellow clintonian. Basically, a "yes man". Do you know the history of Billy and the Clintons? He is a Clintonian.
-
QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Dec 21, 2007 -> 02:41 PM) Hmm. Maybe not? Either 1) Billy was told he's not a Veep candidate anymore, or 2) Billy is drawing attention to Hillarity to show she's gone to the left again, or both.
-
QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Dec 21, 2007 -> 12:11 AM) Edwards will endorse Obama before Clinton. In fact, with the exception of Richardson, any other pres. candidate is gonna throw their support to the not Hillary option. That depends on how strong Mrs. Bill Clinton comes out of the gates. If she's "popular" they all will endorse her, and if Obama is "popular", he will get the endorsements. Everyone likes a "winner."
