  1. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Sep 25, 2007 -> 03:22 AM) Total, but the thing is we know that we used way more than we should have. It is annoying that I use less electricity then last year and pay 30% more.
  2. QUOTE(Steff @ Sep 25, 2007 -> 01:34 PM) Not even root beer at this point!! All is well aside from the boredom, and I think my poor husband is going to kill me soon as being home all day finds me finding new projects for him to do. Thanks for the HB wishes. WOOOO WOOOO WOOOOO WOOOOOOO DANGER WILL ROBINSON, DANGER!!
  3. QUOTE(Texsox @ Sep 25, 2007 -> 01:35 PM) SS replaced the previous rock solid retirement plans. Pensions from companies like GM. Pensions from Unions. OMG. Please stop it. You are not that uneducated.
  4. QUOTE(Texsox @ Sep 25, 2007 -> 01:33 PM) we're? SS, mr_genius, and myself. The troika of Darth Vader followers.
  5. Oh, I was serious about the rhetoric of Democrats equalling that of Al Queda. I didn't say Democrats were Al Queda, but I did say Al Queda is taking the playbook from Democrats, because it's convenient to their cause at the moment. There's no denying that.
  6. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Sep 25, 2007 -> 01:16 PM) How convenient. Yea, 'cause we're so serious about this.
  7. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Sep 25, 2007 -> 02:10 AM) Obama is the least electable of the three, IMO. In the Democratic Primaries, that is true. In the general election, probably not.
  8. QUOTE(Felix @ Sep 24, 2007 -> 11:00 PM) Only once, post 20. That'd be pretty funny if someone posted a whole thread about meeting another poster though, and the person that he supposedly met didn't actually meet him. Oh, it's happened.
  9. Are you sure Konerko isn't a .01 on the speed factor? Nice adjustment! But it doesn't really alter the #'s all that much - which I'm sort of surprised at.
  10. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 24, 2007 -> 09:49 PM) I think you missed his point. I took his post to mean that its maybe hypocritical to be mad about Ahmednutjob talking here, when Bush goes and hangs with the Saudis who are in some ways just as bad as Iran's government. Well, that's true, except that the Saudis haven't OPENLY said they want to destroy Isreal, etc.
  11. QUOTE(Texsox @ Sep 24, 2007 -> 08:59 PM) yep, which is why the GOP radio network pushes so far for her to be the front runner. Media bias at it's worse.
  12. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Sep 24, 2007 -> 09:21 PM) Well I'm not currently in that situation. I'm on the opposite side of the spectrum as I'm vastly underpaid (and I state that knowing if I left today I could get with ease a 15-20K a year raise). However, if I stay where I am for a couple more years, I can see that raise when I switch jobs grow exponentially. That said If I knew I couldn't find a job elsewhere or something along those lines, than yes, I would take a pay cut knowing it would be in my best interest (key word being my best interest). And many of these employees do not have other options and would have to relearn new skills if they got jobs elsewhere so they should be willing to take a cut. And that's the key that Tex doesn't want to talk about.
  13. QUOTE(GoSox05 @ Sep 24, 2007 -> 09:40 PM) So everyone get's mad when a represive leader comes to our country to be asked tough question's, but it's cool if our President goes to Saudia Arabia and hangs out with the House of Saud. Who have done the same type of thing's as Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. I don't see ANY leader of the United States being allowed to go into a Madrassa in the Middle East and speaking about "freedoms and opportunity". Therefore, you don't have a valid comparison.
  14. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 24, 2007 -> 08:20 PM) Things looked like this in 2004 too - still plenty of time till January. Plus look at the polls in the key early Primaries - Iowa is a dead heat between the three big names, and NH is pretty close too. I still think that Clinton's high negatives mean that the party will try to give other candidates every possible edge, because I think Hillary is the least electable at the general level. Well, I gotta say, Obama would be my choice between Girly Man, Mrs. b****, and Obama.
  15. QUOTE(29andPoplar @ Sep 24, 2007 -> 07:55 PM) Extremely deep to CF, 3/4 of the way up. If not 500 ft. awfully close. I was there with 3 other guys that game and we had a table on the top level of the Bullpen bar. We got there early for batting practice and one of the guys was yapping away with his back turned toward the field. Bonds was taking BP and I suggested this guy turn around to watch. He did for several pitches and then turned his back to the field to start talking with someone and just as he did Bonds whistled one out to RF. It whizzed a centimeter past the guys head and hit off the silver railing of the sports bar. The guy said he felt the breeze of the ball blowing by him. Damn. Good story.
  16. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Sep 24, 2007 -> 07:40 PM) Apparently Iran has no homosexuals... http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=206...&refer=home They probably don't, because they're all dead. Did I just say that? Ugh.
  17. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070924/ap_po/bush_politics No surprise, really.
  18. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 24, 2007 -> 06:40 PM) What happens in Baghdad...
  19. QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Sep 24, 2007 -> 06:22 PM) that's true, Kap wasn't posting here at that point... (ass) and oh wasn't the world a better place back then.
  20. I'm pretty sure I do but I have to go through all my files. I have a ton of them from that time when everyone was making their stuff.
  21. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Sep 24, 2007 -> 06:11 PM) I can't remember if it was Kap or I that said it, but let me just say that they deserve each other. Hill has to get someone on the ballot who can pick up some either midwest or deep south traditional republician states. Bayh on the ballot might be enough to carry Indiana for Hill. I did. And I still think it happens. It was pretty "interesting" that Bayh was going to run, her and Evan go to Iraq together, in two days after that, Bayh says "nah, I'll pass on the run" . . . and I'll guarantee you that the "deal" was made at that time.
  22. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 24, 2007 -> 03:34 PM) I actually think the fact that he is allowed to come here and speak says a lot positive about this country. And that's pretty much what the Bushies say. We allow him to come here and express his beliefs, so why don't Iran try it?
  23. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 24, 2007 -> 03:17 PM) So, as this awful season dies down, it kind of feels like the 2005 championship has finally faded into history. That being the case, I am now scrambling to try to find a few pieces of data I'd like to keep around. If any of you die hard fans out there could help me, it would be sincerely appreciated... 1. I vaguely recall someone posting, back in 2005 or shortly after, a playlist of songs from the team's run. Stuff they play at the park (Pirates, AC/DC), stuff that was in the clubhouse (Journey), music for the various players when they came to bat... if anyone still has this list, if they could post it here or PM it to me, that would be most excellent. I tried searching the old threads for this, but did not see it. 2. The intro videos they played at the games. There was the one they played throughout 2006, set to Pirates music - I've seen this on YouTube, but would like a version I can actually save and keep. And then there was the one they played just once, on Opening Day 2006, that was a montage of the 2005 season (set to music from Alexander). If anyone has either of these video files, or if they know a way to scrape them from YouTube, let me know. That is all - thanks in advance! PM'd
  24. Well, gee, we've completely blown our "good draft pick" in a week. Funny how they start reeling off wins the last 10 days of the season. You would think some of these butt nuggets were playing for their job or something.
  25. Yep. All these BigSqwert and Balta stories are converting me away from Fred Thompson.
