I would say that based on what I am hearing - Going into today it was virtually zero, now we're up to about 30%. The key is when the NHL comes back and decides whether to negotiate or not based on a cap. Not to say too much publicly (I'd get gooned by an NHL enforcer... ) but the players really did go a long long way with this offer. Bettman was pleased that they came as far as they did, from what I understand. BUT there is one major dynamic that has to happen before they will settle... and it centers around this thought.... remember, now that this proposal has been made by the players, it becomes owners vs. owners. What a game of poker we have now.

A 24% rollback on salaries and a 20% tax over 45 million payrolls to be distributed to the "lesser teams" are the major components of the deal. Now... if player costs are 74% of revenues and the NHL wants it to be 53%, then the 24% rollback puts them at 51%. WOW! But still, the greedy ass owners are the ones that are going to block this... 24% rollback... I knew it was north of 15% but I am surprised it's this high. If the owners could constrain themselves, this puts them back to 10 years ago, which is where they want to be anyway.

Parking allowances and car allowances (transportation allowances in general) are usually taxable - meaning you get a 1099 for it at the end of the year. Since he's taking that parking allowance and twisting it into the "pretax" program that's set up, I have to question this too. The company has a lot less chance of being audited on this then does the individual, but I don't think what they are doing is technically allowed under the law. I'd have to get the code out and look and I ain't doing that right now.

I have the 256mb video card for one of my pc's so I can do video work for the web. That thing kicks ass. Sounds like a jet engine starting when you turn it on. hehe. For gaming, what you are getting is plenty solid. ATI makes some pretty good stuff.
