With the 14th Pick in the Draft, The Bears Select

670 and 780 AM, I believe. I'm listening to 670 right now, but watching ESPN. BTW, I hate Mel Kiper. Five minutes away from the draft!!!!! -
I'm lovin it!
-
Shingo should be alright, servicable at the least this year. He has outstanding control and very good movement. He's made two pretty good hitters look absolutely silly in his past two outtings - A-Rod, and Aubry Huff. Neal Cotts is sure putting some pressure on Ozzie to put him in that fifth starter spot...

So, it's about 13 hours until the draft - I am pumped - A White Sox Winner, plus the anticipation of the draft may cause me to catch zero sleep tonight. Don Pierson really swayed me on Lee Evans. His speed is something that, Lovie says we need at our WR position. Well, a 4.3 Fourty Yard Dash is damn fast - run year removed from a torn ACL. He also really never had a great QB at Wisconson. I'd have no problem if the Bears were really interested in him and took him, however, I don't think he should be taken at 14, so maybe they could trade down and get an extra pick/player. But, after saying that, I look at our defensive line, specifically defensive tackles - and I see B-Rob, Aaron Boone, and Ian Scott. Ugh. That's where I think Tommie Harris or Vince Wilfork should be picked. If I had the choice of them both, I take Wilfork, because he has a deceptive quickness and takes up two blockers. LOL, and then another possibility, as perhaps Miami realizes that they aren't going to get the world for Ogunlye (sp?), and they end up trading their 20th pick with Ogunlye to the Bears for the 14th, a fourth rounder, and Aaron Gibson. I would definitily take this trade. And if we had the 20th pick - there's Lee Evans, Possibly DJ Williams, John Vilma, hell, maybe even Harris falls to us (unlikely). Wow, the possibilities... I think if my decision would be to trade the pick if that Miami offer is there, if not, then just take Wilfork at 14. I know there have been countless posts about this, and I'm sorry for making yet another one of these, but after soaking in all of the "experts" scouting-reports on most of the players, what would you guys do? Draft days are always exciting. I hope the Bears get a franchise player, with wherever they pick.

LOL, Billy Koch gets the win, right?
-
CREDE!!! SECOND GAME WINNER OF THE YEAR FOR A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!! Winning Ugly at its best there, boys!
-
YES!
-
I love that Paully chant.
-
Balk. And now it is HUGE that Kelly was unable to get that bunt down. Lee will get the intentional BB, and we'll have runners on 1st n 2nd with Konerko coming to the plate. Paully! Paully! Paully! Paully! Paully!
-
Here comes Baez.
-
Hurray! That a boy, Billy! IF, a huge, gigantic IF, Billy gets his stuff together, we have a real solid bullpen. But then again, that IF is bigger than the Sears Tower.
-
Carl Crawford rips a two out single. Damnit, he had him 0-2 and Koch gives him a breaking ball down, yet Craw-daddy goes down and gets it. f***. Lugo coming up.
-
Two gone, and here comes: DUM-DUM-DUM Carl Crawford...
-
Koch gets Toby Hall to pop-out. 1 Gone.
-
1-2-3 Inning. Let's get an inning of good pitching, and then we have Ordonez-(Gload?)-Lee coming up. If we don't win with that....
-
Yep. It's hard to pull a pitcher that is pitching down and away. 1-2 count on Uribe, two outs.
-
Damn, Olivo is reverting back to his old ways of swinging freely at balls in the dirt.
-
Good inning from Cotts. Olivo-Harris-Uribe due up in the ninth. Harris hasn't homered this season. Walk-off Homer
-
One gone in the ninth, Cotts in.
-
:sigh: Rowand grounds out. Damnit guys, you deserve to lose tonight. Well, not Loaiza and Shingo...
-
Ugh, if they throw to sliders down and away, We're going to the ninth.......
-
Sanchez drops a looper in right. They get the force out at second. Runners at the corners, two out. Well, for our lack of hitting today, we can sure make up for all of that with a hit right now. Come on A-Row!
-
Konerko hit again. Well, the average might have gone down tonight, but the OBP is going up, lol. Runners on first and second, one out. Joe Crede coming to the plate. Bottom of the eigth, 2-2.
-
Lee flies out. I would have wanted a bunt there, but OK.
