Real men of genius internet sports fan.

lol, those are so funny. Go on Kazaa, or whatever music downloader that you have (if you have one) and type in Real Men of Genius, or Real American Heroes (What it was called pre-September 11th). Those are so damn funny. Like one is the Mr Foot Long Hotdog Inventor. Another is the Taco Salad Inventor. So damn funny, lol. -
Though I loathe Bill Wirtz and many people in the Blackhawk organization, even they do a High School discount. Seven dollars a ticket is really appealing, especially for people like me who are in high school, or those in college. Hell, in the UC, you can move basically anywhere you want in the Upper Deck, so for seven dollars I basically just sit in any seat in the Upper Deck at the UC, so that's cool. If I could get into a Sox game for five bucks or so. Damn, I'd be to every game possible.

Beautiful Cheat, simply Beautiful! Props to Show too. And Aboz, simply put:

I usually tip the people at the Kosher Dog stands, whether it's a quarter or fifty cents, just because most of them seem like nice people, and get you your dog nice and quick.

I wouldn't take Tiki "Cough" Barber or Barlow over Train... If you want to refuse to look at the numbers, that's fine. But, fact is, the Bears line sucked last year, period. It was makeshift, people were playing out of position. Hell, Aaron Gibson was signed because of injuries. Don't tell me that last year's line was good, because it was just plain bad. Thomas Jones is a bust right now, nothing changes that. He was a top 10 pick IIRC, I don't care what line you run behind, you ought to at least do something. Then he went to Tampa and couldn't even beat out friggin' Micheal Pittman. Don't tell me Train is a worse back than Jones, because nothing can prove that...

You can say that again!

My ideal outfield would be Mags, Reed, and in a couple of years, Sweeney!

Our bullpen is going to be worn out. We really needed either Shoe or Garland to eat some innings in one of these two games - I guess we won't get that... -

Damage done. Can our offense score four, five more runs? -

Timo ought to be on second... -
how long will rowand last at center fielder
CWSGuy406 replied to GoodAsGould's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Would it be possible to put Harris in center, Uribe at second, and Valentin back at SS? Granted, I wasn't thrilled with Harris' centerfield defense last season, but if Rowand doesn't pick it up.... -
Let me say this: after Koch loaded the bases, he looked damn good. He used his curve to set up his heater. Two curves down and in, and he had an 0-2 count. Then, he went with his high heater. That's when he's effective, when he is able to fool hitters. He K'ed the next guy too. Sure, Koch almost gave us all a heart-attack, but he got the job done. He and Neal Cotts pitched well. I'm sorry if I'm beating a dead horse, but I want to see Cotts in the rotation sooner rather than later...

So, Garland is at 90 pitches through 6? I'd let him go one more, maybe two more. That's all though, let's get some runs!

I'm glad you brought up stats. Why has the starting running back job been absolutely handed to Thomas Jones? He's done absolutely nothing to warrant getting the starting job. I was surprised to see Anthony Thomas get even 1000 yards behind that awful line we had last year, in the worst offense in the NFL. People say he can't catch out of the backfield - when was he consistently given a chance to catch the ball out of the backfield? Because, IIRC at Michigan, he did a pretty damn good job at Michigan. Bulls*** that he isn't exciting, or he can't break the long run - I've seen him do it several times over his short career with the Bears, one being last year vs the Packers. Lovie Smith can say "speed this, speed that". Well, he needs to also understand that while speed is a good thing, it won't be as effective on grass as it was on turf in a dome. You need a bruising back like Thomas, especially in the later months of December and hopefully January. I'm all for Thomas Jones having a successful year with the Bears, but he should have to earn his spot first. I'm all for sort of a running back by commitee. Hell, put them both in the backfield at the same time, I wouldn't mind that...

The last caller made a good point - he was basically saying that he doesn't so much hate the Cubs, he hates the attention that is placed upon the Cubs and the comparison of the Cubs/Sox, as such things as the safety of neighborhoods, stadiums, etc. The caller also pointed out his dislike for Moronotti's column on Friday about the Comisky statue. As J-Hood would say, "solid".

Just thought I'd give everyone a heads up, it's 10:10 right now, on AM 670, he's talking about the Jay Marritti article written today. Again, 670 AM.

If Sox brass really wants to impress the casual Sox fan, they should have made it a done deal right before the Yankees series. Hear me out. Though it might not have been the right move, tying up a lot of money to one player, it's the principal that the Sox are designating Mags, by giving him a big contract, the face of the Sox. It would also tell the casual fan that things are changing and that Sox management is here to win.
-
Well, at least Konerko is helping his cause for staying with the team, or somewhat earning his contract (though good hitting first basemen are easy to come by.) Either way, I think we can agree Kenny overpaid on both of the contracts, but if Paully can hover around 300 for most of the year, I won't be too angry with him...
