  1. Brando, in your opinion, is it harder for people of different countries to speak English better? Like what I mean, here's an example: Tuomo Ruutu of the Blackhawks has been in America in much less time than Sammy Sosa has, yet Tuomo already speaks English very, very well (He's Finnish.) Is it correct for me to say that people of different countries have harder/easier times picking up English?
  2. Well, hasn't this guy done a pretty good job with the Bulls? I mean, they've sucked since their last championship in (I've forgotten, 95, 96, 97???), yet IIRC they've maintained one of the highest attendences in the NBA. Hopefully we can expect at least an attendence increase, as well as maybe some more half-price or lower food-price nights, I think Dollar Hot-Dog Thursdays has now become a very nice fan appeal.
  3. I just wanted to know for anyone who was at/saw the game. Was Buerhle on the left side of the rubber? Left side meaning say you're the hitter looking from home plate to the mound, to me it seemed he was on the left side. I just found that odd because wasn't he pitching better from the right side of the mound? Then again, maybe my eyes decieved me. Then again, I might just be making a big deal out of nothing...
  4. "He'd better bring bodyguards." This is the sentence that really, truely pisses me off. I'm taught in my journalism class that you're opening lead paragraph sets the tone for the whole article. Well, in his opening sentence he's basically saying he wants all this Sox/Cubs crap to stop, or as he put it, "Why Can't we all just get along?" Well, by putting in a statement like that (Which is totally false, there are numbers that show that Wrigleyville is much more crime-riddled than the area around US Cellular, but you'd never know that from the media) totally puts fuel on the fire and really disproves your point. What a f***ing jagoff, jackass, f***head... I apologize for my language...
  5. lol, It's funny how he says the Sox beat the 'dreaded' Tampa Bay Devil Rays, yet the Mets only won three more games than them last season, and Tampa Bay's division is MUCH better. What a f***ing asswipe... :fyou
  6. Yeah, I'll say Losman, just because it kind of looks like Grossman, well, not really but you catch my drift... Sexy Rexy
  7. I gave it a B. Like WillieH1, the only pick that baffled me was that of Krezel, because that's a reach there. Other then that, I'm very happy with all the picks. So, not counting Harris, who do you guys think will have the biggest impact on this team? I'll say Vasher and Berrian.
  8. I also want to wait on Crede - he's fine, once he shortens that swing. He brings, as I said in my previous post, a solid glove, and he will hit. Saying that, woukd you guys do this trade - I would certainly would, let me tell you why after I put it out there: Crede, Cotts, Lee, Possibly one more lower-tier prospect. for Crawford and Huff. It would solve our need for a leadoff hitter (though his OBP could use improving) as well as bring a solid lefty into the lineup. Either way, I personally like our team as is, I think we could use a solid, shutdown righty in the bullpen, another starter (possibly one that's already in the system, Rauch, Diaz, Cotts), and another lefty bat. If Seattle fades, I expect to see Freddy Garcia and possibly Randy Winn on the block. Am I off here? Please, I'm serious, if you think I am, tell me why.
  9. Crede has had two walkoff game winning hits/sacrifices. He's a team player. He brings an above average glove to the third base position. He didn't ground into a double play, he got an RBI and didn't get himself out, and he kept the inning alive for us to win the game today. Not that I'm comparing these two (histories or present), but A-Rod didn't start off too hot either...
  10. Hmm, the playoffs seem to be in October...
  11. Sweet, Sox 2-0 with me in attendence! Well, it was awesome. I got to the game, and me and my mom were about to buy tix, and this older lady comes up to us. She's like, "Are you guys buying tickets here? Well, I'm a season ticket holder, and I have two extra seats. Since they don't want you (The Sox) to scalp them, I was looking for people to give them to." My mom offered her money but she wouldn't take it. So we go in, and find our seats. The seats end up being just to the left of home plate, on the Sox side of the field, 17 rows up in the 100 level. It was great, I had an awesome time. What a finish! Awesome!
  12. ChiSoxFan, do you have the scouting report on Harriott?
  13. First fifth round pick, pick number 147, the Bears select Claude Harriott (sp?) DE, Pittsburg Second fifth round pick, pick number 148, the Bears select QB Craig Krensell, THE OHIO STATE.
  14. Charles Tillman was projected fourth round last year, the Bears took him second round. He turned out to be pretty good, didn't he? Trust in Jerry Angelo - have faith.
  15. Vasher seems like one of those guys who had a bad workout so his stock dropped. He was supposed to be a late second, early third round pick. He plays a solid corner, and could turn into the Bears number 2 cornerback. Solid pick, Mr Angelo! These later rounds are where the scouts earn their money. And as I type this, the Vikings take Nat Dorsey.
  16. Pick number 112 of the Bears is Leon Joe(sp?), LB, Maryland. Can someone get a scouting report on him?
  17. The Bears, with the 110th pick, take Nathan Vasher, CB, from Texas.
  18. Bears with their 3rd Round pick select Bernard Berrian, WR from Fresno ST. 6'1, 190 pounts, 4.59 Fourty Yard Dash time. Good hands.
  19. I dont see it as a wasted pick at all. He seems to be a quick, agile guy who can get to the QB, and cause havok in the backfield. Just what Lovie wants. They also had this guy very high on their charts, so they feel it was a steal to get him there. Also, a certain player named Charles Tillman was taken in the second round last year, even though some said he could have been had in the third round. He turned out pretty damn good, didn't he?
  20. Good to see you make a positive comment, Brando! JK! Yeah, Shingo is very fun to watch. His pitches are so slow and they move so much, yet when he needs to, he throws his heater at 87 MPH and the hitters are actually flustered by it. He hits his spots and has very good control. Who says velocity is everything?
  21. Bears take Terry "Tank" Johnson, DT from Washington.
  22. Raiders take Jake Grove. One pick away from the Bears.
  23. Yes, it is too much to ask, actually. Again, sweeping teams is very hard - All the Sox need to do is win series', like Bob said. Win tommorow, and you win the series. The Sox have lost one series so far this season, tied two, IIRC.
  24. Two picks away from the Bears pick: Henderson, Strait, Boulware still on the board.
