  1. Tommy Davis I know of at least 8 more with the number 10. I have 4 more, but I'll let someone else do some digging to see if they come up with them. If I don't see them, then I will post them later on.
  2. QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Feb 17, 2011 -> 01:43 PM) There's a sale at Penny's!!! Or you could reverse it and say that the person that portrayed Laverne DiFazio on Laverne and Shirley will be at our new closer's house!
  3. There are at least 4 players that I know of that had # 11 I figured that I'd leave the other 2 easy ones for someone else.
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 16, 2011 -> 11:58 AM) If this really bothers you, then you're a fan of the wrong team. I'm puzzled by your quote. Because I like to hear good reports and comments from pros about the team that I follow, and if that doesn't happen, then that makes me a fan of the wrong team???? Wow! I was simply stating a few points, that with the team that we have, and the acquisions that were already added to what we have, as to why we seem to still get ducked in conversations as not even being in the same league when talks are mentioned on high profile teams.
  5. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Feb 16, 2011 -> 01:16 PM) Actually, I always found Harold Reynolds as a "pro" White Sox guy. He was raving on and on about Beckham last year, and he even picked Beckham for the future "All-Decade" team at 2B for 2010-2019, better than the likes of Utley, Kinsler, Cano, Pedroia, etc. Hmmm! Quite impressive. I guess I was just kind of puzzled when he laughed when we were mentioned in the top ten this year, and ducked the Sox rotation question as far as us being up there with the best..
  6. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Feb 16, 2011 -> 09:58 AM) Think The Doors. I found it after I already posted! Next question. Which of the 2 Jim Morrison's could actually play better baseball?
  7. QUOTE (PeavyTime @ Feb 16, 2011 -> 09:45 AM) Yeah! I hear what you are saying! It's just that i am a big baseball freak and until baseball season starts, the only pre-season shows that are on seem to have liitle to say about us. Just getting tired of waiting for the season to start, and in the meantime, there are times that we just seem non-existent.
  8. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Feb 16, 2011 -> 09:30 AM) Who is this guy ? Roy Smalley???
  9. QUOTE (YASNY @ Feb 16, 2011 -> 09:01 AM) I'm actually amazed that I remembered Herrmann and Martin's number. I'm even more amazed that a photo was actually taken of Herrmann crossing home plate. That's a rare occasion in itself! They must have scraped the bottom of the barrel in the archives to find that one.
  10. Still can't figure it out! As we all know, that for many years ESPN has had no love for The Sox. Last year on MLBN's 30 clubs in 30 days they had us next to last on the schedule. This year On MLBN ,when they were going through who they thought were the top 10 best teams this year, Rod Allen picked The Sox as #8 and Harold Reynolds laughed his head off and said that he was surprised that they were on the list at all! When Reynolds was asked about the depth of The Sox rotation, he ducked the question and reverted the question over to Oakland and yacked up a storm about them. Even Mitch Williams. Reverts questions off of The Sox, and straight onto Detroit and how good they are. Yesterday, they talked about major key players that were injured last year that can make major impacts on teams if they are healthy. Santana, Morales, Nathan, and a few others were mentioned. How the heck can Peavy's name not even be mentioned let alone not be thrown into the conversation? This year on the TV broadcst schedule, (Except for one spring training game) ESPN has NO GAMES scheduled for The Sox this year. I know that we are all Sox fans and have some great hopes this year, but why don't major networks see us as a legitimate threat? I mean....C'mon already! Look at our line up and rotaion and pen! Maybe it's not tops in the majors, but sheesh......I don't thnk that we should be looked upon as a pile of rags that aren't worth the time of day for discussion on contending and being a threat!
  11. QUOTE (YASNY @ Feb 16, 2011 -> 08:37 AM) AHHHHHH! Ya beat me to it! I had mine all ready!
  12. QUOTE (YASNY @ Feb 16, 2011 -> 08:27 AM) I tried to find a picture of Ed Herrmann that showed his number. No luck. I was looking too. This is the best that I found
  13. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Feb 15, 2011 -> 04:09 PM) Yikes! Not a good trend to start. If his upcoming generations keep up at that pace, the following scenario is nuts! Dad= 13 Grandfather=26 Greeat Granfather= 39 Great Great Grandfather= 52 Great Great Great Grandfather=65
  14. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 14, 2011 -> 05:10 PM) That will indeed be a sad day. But at least I got to see one clean superstar in my lifetime. He goes by the name of Frank Thomas. Don't forget about Griffey Jr.
  15. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Feb 14, 2011 -> 05:32 PM) looks like you win for this day!
  16. Just found Sammy Esposito! (At first quick glance, I thought it was Beckham)
  17. Ah what the heck! It's kind of bogus, but it's the only way that I can prove that he was number 14 by putting 2 sleeve shots together.
