Picture underneath the actual post! I downloaded the picture onto a jpeg file and then went from there. I went to "Change Personal Photo", placed the URL in IMG. The picture shows up as "Currently used photo", but nothing shows up under the actual post. When I tried it in Edit Signature, the only thing that showed up under my posting was the URL address that I pasted from properties.

Hiya Doin' Yatzman? I had the same problem! I saved my pic as a jpeg file. It shows up as "Currently used photo", but does not show up on the postings! Any ideas?

Before he goes to AAA, I'd like to see Par-Kay, "Butter" up our hitters bats for a while.
-
I hope the Twins get him, so that when we play them, Parque owes us quite a few home runs in return for what he gave to others when he was with us.

I can tell your a Sox fan!! "CLASS!!" Thanks again! Will do in the future! Can't spend much time on here to figure things out! My job is turning me into a bowl of oatmeal! Been a Soxfan myself for 40 +Years! Have EVERY know Topps Sox baseball card From 1959 till present day, including rookies, tradeds, and when they were on Hitting/pitchingh leader cards. To be on this board, "DO I Qualify???"

I'm right with ya BRO!!!! To Become a Cubs Fan?????????????????????? How can anyone swear so profusely like that? Am I a true Sox fan? YOU BET! Maybe I disagree and are unhappy with things at times, but "MY" loyalty remains! Heck, if the Cubs were "161" and"0", and somebody gave me a box seat to the last game.............. To Whoever! Sorry for my lack of understanding, but I'm still rather new at this and needed some help. I have an idea on how to get a picture underneath a post through another previous thread answer. My question is, what the heck does the word avatar mean, and in the "my controls" section, you can either edit avatar settings,(add picture), or "Change Personal Photo". What's the difference in them both, and how do you get them on the post? Is the avatar a Logo, etc,? And is that the choice,"OR Personal photo" that gets pasted in the upper left of each post? In the meantime, Still looking for the right pics. Also, I noticed that I can never change my font sizes or boldness! Thank You to whoever responds!

Confirmed: Robbie Alomar Was a Slacker in 2003
Rooftop Shots replied to C.Rector's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I agree also! Even when The Sox weren't doing well offensively, he was fun to watch defensively. He was colorful and made difficult plays look easy. Not only that, I think having him as a well-noted defensive player, and playing along side him is one of the reasons Valentine had one of his best years at SS. Also, Alomar was a threat, because the opposition never new what he would do at the plate. I really believe that for the Sox, that he was a team player. He made great plays, and did whatever means possible to get on base. I tend to believe that so many are on his back because of the huge dissapointment and RESENTMENT towards him for not wanting to sign with us. I'd take him back in a heartbeat! -
Thanks for the info, and for getting back to me! I got on this sight because I've been a Sox fan for 40+ years, have played "A LOT" of baseball, and enjoy talking baseball. This should be a sight to pass along info as well as agree and disagree on issues. Unfortunately, I see things get pretty heated up between others at times. I'm rather new on this, and enjoy it! It SOULD remain enjoyable! Not an all-out bash-one-another Slug-fest!

Thanks!I checked back with my source! Sorry for the confusion! It is "Spidale!!" Don't know much about him except what this guy told me! Not sure even what level he's in! Is this guy really "That good" as I've been told?

As far as Reed panning out goes, hard to say! He sounds great on paper, but remember that Borchard got a $5 mil dollar signing bonus. Still waiting on him for his power at both sides of the plate, speed, and consistency! Still waiting on Rauch as well! He was supposed to be the next Randy Johnson. If Reed goes, there is another guy waiting in the wings that is supposed to be phenomenal in every aspect of the game. I know a guy who is a friend of him and said to me to "Watch out for this guy!" Anyone hear of a guy named Mike Spillednick? Prounced spill--ed---nick). I'm kind of back and forth on this, but I feel if it will help in strengthening our rotation, would it be worth the gamble to trade Reed? We seem to have a history of counting on "Prospects." I'd rather have confidence in "Proven Ability." Besides, I don't see Shoenweis as being a real threat, and those of you who know me know how I feel about Danny Wright!

Hi! I'm not real big in the finance department, and I see your defense in the payroll proposal. My question is, if there are so many claims that we don't have the money, and that we don't sign HIGH quality players because we have a payroll budget to look out for, then what happened to, and where was the money coming from when we offered Colon 12Mil per year, Gordon 2Mil per year and Alomar 2Mil per year? Heck, KW said that he even tried to work something out with Everett as well! How is it we can offer these players contracts where it would put us over 70 Mil, but all of a sudden we cannot sign Top Quality because of no money, or budget? Not trying to be a wise guy! I just don't inderstand the logic!

I'm rather tired of losing games because of countless walks. Make the other team beat you! Don't hand anything to them. Wright cannot get his breaking ball over, walks too many because of it, then loses confidence and tries to "steer" it in with nothing on it and then gets "jacked"! Sorry! Many may disagree with me, but when Wright pitches, I've had about enough of watching base runners revolve around like a marbel lighting up the specials on a pinball machine! He has had more than enough chances! The guy simply cannot cut it as a starter! Don't mean to offend anyone out there! Just want someone with a proven reliable track record!

There's a lot of talk about who's got what when it comes to the talent matchups between K.C. and Sox.The biggest advantage that I see for K.C. is wrapped up in 2 words! THEY"RE "HUNGRY"" If no Real Major improvements are made for the Sox, how will it effect the players, knowing that all we did is lessen ourselves, and others have beefed up. I can't see our "HUNGER DRIVE" being nearly that of K.C. unless KW pulls a few special rabbits out of his hat. Hunger won the World Series the last 3 years. When you have it, you play your best! If the fans are down now, what will they be like at The Cell everytime something doesn't go well. A Lot of Major Raggin'!!! Sox fans have it in for management now! How much more will it intesify when the season starts? And you know that the players will expect a lot more booooing because it! That will effect players as well! Regardless what happens during the season, the fans and players need something to be hungry and excited about. Uless something major takes place, our drive and lack of intensity will be by far, our biggest disadvantage. We need major fresh quality talent, if only for one thing.... To get this town and players "THE DRIVE" that is "NEEDED!!!"
-
I'll help answer your question about Bradford, here are his "Lifetime Stats!!11 ML Seasons 226 Avg. 52 Hr's 175 RBI's "Impressive!!!" As far as Agee, he turned into a decent player, but with The sox he was rookie of the year in"67, backed it up with a 234 Avg, then Gone the next. Became a hero with The Mets.

Maybe not my favorite, but one that comes to mind as of now is Craig Grebeck. That little guy had some nice "pop" to his bat.I really liked him!! Also, Tim Hulett. He didn't do a heck of a lot, but he was kind of our "Graffy" of the mid 80's! By the way, whatever happened to Lyle Mouton? When he came up, I thought he was going to really amount to something! Least favorite........ Gotta put Mike Squires in there. Constantly ragged that he wasn't doing well because of little playing time. He finally got his chance, and he did worse. Tommy McCraw was famous for his annual pop-up to the firstbaseman in clutch situations. Gene Freese......... hit 273 with 79 RBI's in 1960. Only problem was, most of those came when the Sox were ahead by 5 or more runs. When the game was on the line, he lived up to his name.

To me, the best trade hasn't taken place yet. I've had about all I can take with Danny Wright. The guy has proven relentlessly that he can't cut it and yet we keep putting him back in, giving him another chance, and wasting our time with more frustration. Do you think Steinbrenner would waste that much time on someone that has proven so much instability? I think not!!! When it comes to the status of him in a Sox uniform, I'll use the words of Ralph Kramden to Ed Norton, ...............OOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The trade............ I'll take a pair of old worn out tennis shoes for him!!

Favorite Sox Or just overall baseball moment
Rooftop Shots replied to Jordan4life_2003's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Even though it wasn't a Sox moment, the most awesome thing that I saw was The Giants batting practice at "The Cell" when Bonds came up. We went to the game early to stand in right field to try and catch a ball by him. As we were standing there, Bonds launches one "WAY" above our heads into the upperdeck concourse. The analogy of that shot would be that if it was hit straight, it would be like hitting a 400+ foot homerun halfway up the height of the centerfield video screen. Have never, and probably never will ever witness anything like that again. My friend and I just laughed at how unbelievable it was to see that.
