QUOTE (Condor13 @ Jun 12, 2016 -> 02:06 PM) Based on the scouts and reports out there, Burdi is VERY accurate for throwing as hard as anyone in baseball Believe me, I've watched him a couple of times. Seen him hit 101 quite a few times. Never seen him hit 103, in fact I think a scouting report said he touched 102, so I wouldn't be shocked.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 12, 2016 -> 01:58 PM) Burdi with quite the end to his career. Ouch Yea that was brutal for him. I don't think I've seen him throw as fast either. First pitch was 103 MPH (not sure how accurate gun is).

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 11, 2016 -> 04:59 PM) You do know that wasn't called from the bench don't you? He was bunting for a hit. Yea. I get on Robin alot than previous managers this year, but that was not on him. Shocked people are blaming him for that one. -

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jun 11, 2016 -> 12:05 PM) He strong. Swing reminds me a bit of Josh Hamilton's. Exactly what I said last night in the GT. It's almost eerie. -
If this was 2010, we'd have one hell of a lineup.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 08:24 AM) And Shields was horrible that year. And that year was 2010. Shields isn't the same pitcher. It didn't matter who caught him, he was horrible last night. There are things that can be taken as legit arguments against Robin, this isn't one of them. 2010 was a long time ago baseball-wise. No one on the 2010 White Sox is even on the team anymore. Somehow since 2010 Shields was able to survive with others catching him, and has made a lot of money. I miss the shakes head emoji. Keep fighting the good fight there DA.

QUOTE (Boogua @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 08:04 AM) It would be nice if the offensive GOAT could average more than 16 PPG in the finals. Amazing what some physical defense can do to a jump shooter in the playoffs. After posting an O-Rating of 114 and a PER of 24.5 in the playoffs last year, Curry is at 110 in the playoffs this year with a PER of 23.4. You do realize those numbers are still pretty damn good right? And I still don't buy him being healthy with that knee.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 08:10 AM) Again they were last teammates 6 years ago. That season Shields put up a 5.18 ERA. Your argument is ridiculously laughable. Navarro caught 331 innings and put up a 2.91 CERA that year with TB. (Team ERA that year was 3.78) Should I bring up his CERA in years after that or Shields FIP/BABIP/SIERA that year?
-
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 08:00 AM) So James Shields would have been much better if Navarro was catching last night. That's all I need to know to realize how little you know. James Shields has thrown to I don't know how many catchers in his day. But a lot more than Dioner Navarro. If he can't throw to Alex Avila, having him on the team is beyond stupid. He's also been in Chicago and on the mound at USCF plenty in his career. If he is that big of a baby, maybe Cooper should have held his hand and walked him to the mound last night. Typical DA reading what he wants to read. I already said he might of still got rocked, or he might of pitched a quality start. We'll never know. But I'd still rather see him live or die with a guy he's had success with in the past. By your logic, maybe the Cubs front office should tell Jon Lester to stop pitching since it seems he only pitches well when Ross is catching him.
-
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 07:52 AM) So maybe the Sox should bring back Tyler Flowers. This Robin bashing is getting hysterically stupid. Now he's an idiot for not having Navarro catch Shields like if he did, Shields would be a Cy Young guy. Navarro has been catching Latos. In fact after his first few starts, including some time in Cincinatti, it was something like 10 or 12 starts with an ERA below 2.00? How did that hold up once Latos started throwing meatballs? A guy who just got traded, pitching in a new environment with a catcher he's had success with in his career (who also happens to know his tendencies) would be a pretty smart move for the most part. He might of still got rocked. He might of pitched a quality start. We dont know, but I'd rather see a guy who can call a game he likes in there. But trying to explain anything coaching related to you is pointless. If you were running the Sox office, Greg Walker would still be the hitting coach.

https://mobile.twitter.com/ckamka/status/740690814934847489 I didn't watch the game yesterday, but when I saw the lineup card and this tweet from Kamka, I was like "Oh Robin"..

QUOTE (Deadpool @ Jun 6, 2016 -> 09:19 PM) All the teams know the Blackhawks are in a bind and already missing pieces. No one is just going to take Bickell without something to sweeten the deal. That's fine, but giving up young guys who are already in the NHL (or NHL ready) is just not smart. Bowman and company better hope a guy like Schmaltz is ready or if they are signing Vesey or something. I like Pokka, but if the organization thinks other guys are ahead of him (i.e. Gustafsson, Forsling, etc), you use someone like that to "sweeten" a deal.
-
QUOTE (Deadpool @ Jun 6, 2016 -> 01:49 PM) ESPN reporting the Blackhawks are struggling to move Brian Bickell (no kidding). The kicker is, the name teams want in order to take the bad money is Teuvo Teravainen. This would be a mega loser trade. I would be furious if they move Teravainen in a cap dump. He could probably fetch you a solid young defenseman by himself if we were going that route. I'm surprised a cap floor team won't take a chance with Bickell for one year, unless they don't want to help the Hawks out. But moving cost controlled assets is not the way to go.

QUOTE (SCCWS @ Jun 4, 2016 -> 06:13 PM) I didn't realize he pitched today. I thought Sale was scheduled. Dick Allen is that you? -
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 4, 2016 -> 05:23 PM) WTF? This makes sense for the Padres. There was no commentary whatsoever about the White Sox and whether or not this was a good deal for them in that post. I come back for one trade and that's the response I get? Don't pay him no mind. I agree with what you were getting at. I think Johnson will benefit from their park big time.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 26, 2016 -> 09:07 AM) I moved back home, briefly, when I was 25. Ditto. And then again at 28. It's not a joke out here and I'm glad both my parents (although divorced) have that kind of compassion. There's a guy I know who is 33 and still lived with his parents. I think his culture is a bit different too.
