The continuing fall and decline of PHT.
QUOTE (aboz56 @ Jul 17, 2013 -> 02:34 PM) This is all pretty simple. It's Jason's fault. Holy s*** Alex with a tease post from the dead.. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Jul 17, 2013 -> 10:07 PM) 10 years ago I used to hang out on this site all the time. I was 15 and had not a care in the world. After school/sports practices, I'd come home and chill on SoxTalk for awhile. Hell, a select few of us would be up until 2-3am every night during the summers. Just can't do it anymore. I do read SLaM and the Sports forum on a daily basis, though. Just don't post often. Miss all of you guys. DBAH0 still around? Haven't seen much from him. Miss the f***ing late night crew man. Still posting late however, just not as frequently as the 18-23 year old me did. And yea Andrew still peaks in every blue moon I believe (wouldn't know my damn self cause I do the same). Had the pleasure of meeting and drinking with the aussie last year. He's brilliant.

Watch him go on a long power drought after the derby now.

White Sox/Tigers Brawl 2000
I'll never forget that game. Question though, wasn't there a sox pitcher who was never the same after that brawl?

7/15 Games
Yea DeMichele is having a nightmare game as he is still adjusting to SS. Also Andre Wheeler (15th round pick) is having a great start to his pro career in Bristol. I believe he's the one who had a mechanic tweak and now he's just been dominant so far.

FS Midseason Top 25 Prospects
I usually disagree with you guys top 10 list every year (although Ozzie Ball and Dan have usually thought similar to myself over the years as well as Cerb.. minus Chris Young who I was not a fan of at the time.. ) but I must say this is a great list boys. No arguments here. Only beef I got is Braulio Ortiz not in the top 25, but don't worry.. he'll be there next season for sure. Great arm. I was high on Webb before most (hell I've picked him as a sleeper candidate since last year), but I'm shocked how much noticed he's got a years time now, though I will admit always thought it would be as a starter.

NBA Thread 2013-2014
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 11, 2013 -> 07:10 PM) If the Heat win again next year, wouldn't that lessen the chance of Lebron moving on? He couldn't leave a team going for 4 in a row could he? I could easily see him going back to Cleveland, especially now that they have great young pieces in place. He did promise them an NBA championship. He would still fulfill that promise.

2013-2014 NHL thread
It gets worse. Here is the little dick standing on the Hawks logo. (And I think Belushi lifting the Cup over his head is irritating the other crowd just as much, if not more though. That was awful.)

2013-2014 NHL thread
Looks like Hawks are going with the youth movement next season. Pretty easy decision, especially comming off another Cup. Let these kids grow with the core. Can't wait to see how guys like Pirri/LeBlanc, Morin, Hayes, Smith do.

The continuing fall and decline of PHT.
QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Jun 30, 2013 -> 02:34 PM) First, knowing J4L this is all going exactly to his plan. There's no frustration on his behalf in regards to the team, believe me. He masterfully threw out the bait and sat in the corner twiddling his thumbs awaiting the bites. However, as one of those 10yr veterans of Soxtalk this thread is an example of EXACTLY the time of atmosphere that existed in the "golden age" (definitely from 2003-2004). Reflecting back, I recall Old Roman, BMR, Cluer, Beastly (or WSC), JimH constantly instigating trouble and riling up everyone. There was no message board decor or rules, it was literally the equivalent of a youtube comments section. Also, consider that 10-11 years ago when this site began most of the active members were in the 16-25 age range. I'm sure this same age range is represented across all message boards. Most within this group were either in school or just finishing and had the available free time to regularly post. Now, consider a decade passing; these same people have careers and families draining their lives and free time. I was 18 when I joined here, and having just started college my time was devoted to not only following the White Sox and our minor league system, but those of other teams. Enough to where, when draft time came around I could have probably created my own Top 30 draft board. Now, I'm practically baseball retarded outside the White Sox. With my career and other obligations I'm lucky to post once a week. Steff was a gem too wasn't she? And Tizzle my nizzle pretty much nailed it. I wish I was 17 again when I started posting here and just didn't give a f***, but things change. (well, I still don't give a f***, but with maturity now) And Felix knowledgeable on PHT? LMAO since when? He does own everyone's life on the NBA threads though. I still follow this board, but it isn't the first page I click on like it once was for years.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 25, 2013 -> 09:16 AM) i bet that champaign stings like hell in Shaws cuts. But i bet he gives exactly 0 f***s Dude was playing with two broken ribs and a torn labrum. (as well as lacerations on his face) Those "stings" probably feel like a small papercut for him.

2012-2013 Official NHL thread
QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jun 25, 2013 -> 01:00 AM) Well I'm doing it. Toews said keep the bars open as they will fill the Cup and share with the city. I am the city. Or something. BTW, reading about these injuries. Bickell strained knee, hence the breakup of 88/19/29...Hossa disc problem where he couldn't f***ing feel his foot while playing. Toews concussion Game 5 (why the f*** was he playing........................). Handzus broken wrist, torn MCL. Also Bergeron was apparently half dead and played. Jesus. Andrew Shaw supposedly played with a torn labrum and two broken ribs.

2012-2013 Official NHL thread
Other than idiots breaking windows, jumping on cars/taxis and knocking everything in site by Clark street, that was a fun atmosphere to be in. Zero fights from what I saw and lets just say I saw a decent amount of boobies tonight. Two cups in 4 years... unbelievable. Zues lifting the cup after Toews was only fitting as well. (and Shaw lifting it with blood dripping down his cheek was awesome)

6/23 games: Erik Johnson debut
Braulio Ortiz is flying under the radar. Sox like his arm, and he is now getting a chance to start. Still wild at times, but his slider/curve is very good. Wouldn't surprise me to see him take off and start getting on the radar on this board. And I'll admit Phegley is impressing me now. He started off very hot last year and cooled down considerably. He's actually maintaining his consistency this year after his, once again, hot start and is showing very good power.

2012-2013 Official NHL thread
OT (and hungover), but I met Blackhawk prospects Brandon Pirri and Kevin Hayes last night at rush and division. (downtown at a food joint by Shenanagans) Really cool guys, both were shocked I knew who they were. (although I thought Kevin was originally Jimmy, crazy how much they look alike) Pirri said an "interesting" thing about Slavko (SoxFan1, he interviews them down there as his job) that I found hilarious.

2012-2013 NBA thread
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jun 21, 2013 -> 12:46 AM) Kawhi is so deceptively strong. He'll improve his offensive game soon enough because of that strength and he'll be one of the elite defenders in the game. I love Jimmy but Kawhi is and will be better through out his career. He is also close to two years younger. Gonna be a good one to watch develop over the years. BTW, to my man J4L, LeBron has to catch Kobe first before you throw Jordan's name in a sentence son.

I don't think Hawks or Wings fans would have it any other way. Let's give them a proper send off as they head East with a series win.

What I Would Do
QUOTE (Noonskadoodle @ May 11, 2013 -> 09:37 AM) Any Trouts or Strasburgs in next years draft? FWIW, next years draft is suppose to be pretty deep top end.

5/8 Games
I'll chill with the Phegley love until he has more at bats. Last season he started off hot too (in fact batted .352 in same number of games right now with a very high OPS) and then dramatically cooled down. He is a notorious quick starter. Has been even since his college days. I will say the power is very encouraging though. Around this time last season, he only had 1 homer.
