Robert Thread: Sox talking to Reds, Mets
I think if Realmuto doesn’t re-sign with Philly, a Robert+Quero trade makes sense. Maybe Crawford and two of Wood/Chase/Obermueler

2025 Rule 5 Thread
I like Alex Pham, McGarry, and Jose Rodriguez in that order. Pham has multiple pitches, throws strikes and has a deceptive arm angle. I think Rodriguez's fastball and change combo make him an awesome option for the bullpen. Struggles with control (which is probably average bb rate).

Robert Thread: Sox talking to Reds, Mets
There has been chatter that they are shopping Tatis. If that's the case, then they may try to replace his production with Robert. It's net neutral move in 2026 $ wise but saves them money in the long run. I want to see Boston miss out on Bregman, Schwarber, Marte and Alonso. Then I think they pivot to Tatis and that could be a monster trade with other ripples.

Blocked, Out of Options or Lost their Polish
I was thinking of players that are either blocked and or lost their polish, so their team may be looking to move them. Share some that you can think of. Brewers: Tyler Black - LH. Player 3B, 2B, 1B so can compliment our RHs. Orioles: Mayo, Mountcastle (one is going to lose out in their position). Kjerstad (seems to have fallen from the list. Big bat but doesn't provide much defensive value). Bradfield Jr (could be kept for depth, but with all their other OFs, doesn't have a spot. Diamondbacks: Lawlar- Not sure his time is up there yet, but if they are looking to win, then they may want someone more dependable. If Marte is traded, maybe it's less likely Lawlar moves. Red Sox: J Garcia - Their OF is stacked and he doesn't have a spot. Yankees: Spencer Jones, Dominguez. A lot depends on what direction the Yankees take in free agency. If they bring back Bellinger, I'd think at least one of these two are dealt. Mets: This team has a lot of prospect depth but are in win mode now. Baty, Jett Williams, Clifford, Ewing, Benge. Obviously not all of these players would be on the table. I'd be open to trading Taylor if it brought back a big bat. Cubs: Alcantara seems to be the odd man out in the OF and is out of options. Dodgers: De Paula, Hope, Quintero, Sirota, Tibbs. This team has tons of OF prospect depth and any one of them would be enticing. Again, I'd be willing to put Taylor on the table. Freeland switch hits, can walk and play SS/3B. I wonder if he is expendable. Reds: They have some pretty good SP depth. If Sox want someone to eat some innings, maybe Singer could be had. Chase Petty or Rhett Lowder could be odd men out. Reds would be interested in Robert and/or Quero.

Teams have asked about Teel
I think he's better than how he performed. I think he did good but he's more valuable than "good".

Teams have asked about Teel
I agree, but it all depends on what you get for Teel. The Crochet trade turned this organization around. Imagine if you hit again by trading Teel.

Teams have asked about Teel
It would be better to sell high on Teel than low on Quero, but you have to have faith Quero can stick in the long run. I would rather trade one of them and use Lee as a backup to give them 100 some games behind the plate. Neither player is going to get better back there starting 50 or 80 games a year.

Luis Robert trade thread: La Pantera stays.
It blows my mind what the Mets paid for Rogers vs what they paid for Mullins

Adrian Houser traded to TB for former top prospect Curtis Mead
Extend Houser. 2/$14m. better than some 40 grade prospect. I think he nets something like the Sox got in the Giolito/Lopez or Lynn/Kelly trades. So one of Nastrini, Leasure, Bush. I didn’t include Quero because I doubt someone overpays like the Angels did. Hard pass.

White Sox asking for "top prospects" for Robert
Mets make the most sense imo. Not sure how you can throw down $700m for Soto and not give him more support.

White Sox asking for "top prospects" for Robert
Sounds like Sox were asking for a couple of Arroyo, Burns, Lowder from the Reds

White Sox asking for "top prospects" for Robert
Sox need to hold onto Robert until the trade deadline, gives us something to talk about.

Reds acquire Soxtalk favorite Gavin Lux
Do you think Robert has more value than Lux?
-
White Sox asking for "top prospects" for Robert
This is why you trade for guys whose stock is down, like Lux/Outman/Baty/Gilber

White Sox asking for "top prospects" for Robert
Admit all of their risks but split your stock to reduce your risk. Do you play the $1 slot once or the .50 cent twice.

White Sox asking for "top prospects" for Robert
So if Acuna + Baty is not enough, then what would the ask from NYM be? Is the difference worth the risk and the cost? Your risk of trading Robert now is his value is low. What does that mean trade wise? Today you get Acuna but if you wait and his value goes up you get Jet Williams? Is that gain really that much and worth the risk? If you hold onto Robert and his 2025 is just like 2024, then do you get anything for him at all? Acuna helps fill our up the middle needs (CF/SS), has speed (which helps carry value defensively and on the bases), has a good history of walking/hitting/low strike outs in the minors and has had a good strikeout rate with his limited time in the majors. Baty too has a great track record in the minors with walks and slugging, and grades out well with baseball savant and fangraphs defensively at 3rd. Sign me up.

- White Sox asking for "top prospects" for Robert
I like the Mets as a trade partner. They need a cf and a bat to protect Soto. They have a lot good not great prospects, most of which are blocked. Williams, Baty, Acuna, Maricio, Gilbert, Clifford, Rodriguez, Benge. Give me three of them and call it good. - White Sox asking for "top prospects" for Robert
