  1. QUOTE (kev211 @ Jan 29, 2010 -> 12:01 PM) ABC's contest where so many people win a flash drive with the first 5 minutes of season 6 of lost on it got sent today. Anyway the clip leaked. http://spoilerslost.blogspot.com/2010/01/l...l#axzz0e1dDtmPh Click that only if you want to see the first 5 minutes of season 6. I suggest anyone who wants to talk about it in this thread uses spoiler tags. soooooooooo tempting, but I just CANT watch it.
  2. Congrats DRose. I really want your jersey, but I dont want to you to succumb to my jersey curse.
  3. QUOTE (Pants Rowland @ Jan 29, 2010 -> 11:34 AM) Ephesus Schaumburg
  4. QUOTE (kev211 @ Jan 27, 2010 -> 11:46 PM) Yah I don't get the windows bashing. I've never had a problem with it in my life, but I guess thats just me. As someone who has used both... and a life long windows guy until my Jr year of college, I would agree. But once I used my first Mac OS X machine, I fell in love. There is some transition time to learn how a Mac thinks vs how a Windows machine thinks, but in the end, Mac OS X is sooo much better and easier to use. Windows 7 has come a long way in the Windows universe. Windows 7 is what Microsoft needed. When open source Linux distros were often better than Windows XP, that's a problem for Microsoft. Windows 7 is pretty darn solid, but until they dump DLLs and the OS is no longer susceptible to "bit rot", OS X rains over all.
  5. QUOTE (danman31 @ Jan 27, 2010 -> 07:13 PM) I agree, but it looks better than the iPhoneOS at first glance. I would say that really. It's just the OS/UI scaled up. It's the apps that are very different and much better. they are designed to work on a 10" screen and they are really slick. I just wish it had more of the OS X meat in it. Printing ability? Some network diagnostic abilities? FLASH? stuff like that. If this thing had more network diagnostic abilities, I could absolutely make a legit reason to buy one of these for work to carry around instead of a laptop.
  6. The more i process the iPad, the more I like the idea, just not this version. Let's face it, the world is going mobile. I can see a near future (less than 10 years) where people no long carry laptops. They carry slates/tablets/pads instead. The only draw back is functionality. You need something easy to use, but powerful. Apple gets easy to use, and this slate is powerful, but it lacks some functionality. The iPad is far easier to use than any Windows based tablet I've ever tried. I think Leo LaPorte said it best when he said people are ready to use the iPad because people are now used to the iPhone/iPod Touch. 5 years ago, the iPad would have been TOO revolutionary to gain a market. In many ways Apple "lead us out of darkness" on several occasions. Apple II got the average citizen into personal computers. Mac introduced the GUI. iPod revolutionized digital music. iPhone revolutionized cell phones. The iPad is bringing the idea of easy to use tablets to the masses. It will take some time, but I think in the LONG run, this is were computers are going. Personally, I am looking forward to a Google Android tablet (made by Google, not a third party). I like their open model for Apps.
  7. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 29, 2010 -> 08:51 AM) That's brilliantly funny. RIP Spirit. You served us well. Hopefully we'll see you on the other side of Martian winter.
  8. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 29, 2010 -> 08:55 AM) My God AT&T, this is incredible. I've had your service at home for a month now and today's the 3rd time my home phone service has gone out. And I had to put in an angry phone call just now just to try to get them to fix it before next Tuesday. ARGH. I'm so switching to cell phones. AT&T is actually looking to get out of the landline business. Smart move on their part. They need to dedicate to getting Fiber to the home or Comcast (DOCSIS 3) and Verizon Fios are going to blow them out of the water and out of business.
  9. QUOTE (G&T @ Jan 28, 2010 -> 06:42 AM) On that list, 1977 and 1999 were separated. You're looking at it wrong. the 1977 Star Wars is really Episode 4, while 1999 is Episode 1.... ya know, the one with JarJar.
  10. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 27, 2010 -> 03:52 PM) SI says both Arenas and Crittenon suspended for the rest of the season Well, looks like the need a PG. Hinrich is available!
  11. iPad 2.0 is going to be sweet. But not this one.
  12. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 27, 2010 -> 01:32 PM) oh, you mean Verizon? I was staring at that for like 3 minutes trying to figure out what you meant. Damn spell check! lol
  13. If this event doesnt end with "iPhone is coming to Verizon" i just wasted 2 hours of my life.
  14. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jan 27, 2010 -> 01:25 PM) Why even make a non 3G with 16GB? What a useless piece of crap. What can that store 1 video game and 3 HD movies? The only "usable" model is the 32GB with 3G. This is how Apple works. They give you a "low end" device to make you want the higher priced one.
  15. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 27, 2010 -> 01:23 PM) They are protecting their Macbooks with the lower memory availability. Like they couldn't make these things with 160-250 GB's... They could, but SSD drives of that size are super expensive right now.
  16. $500! DAMN! That's AWESOME! Check that, 3G versions are extra $130.
  17. iPad includes AT&T 3G for $19.99 (250MB) or $29.99 (unlimited)... no contract.
  18. The best joke i've heard: The next version of the iPad wil be call the MaxieiPad
  19. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 27, 2010 -> 12:42 PM) what sucks about it? seems perfectly fine to me. I dont like the idea of having to buy apps through a single source. I get the iPhone, but on larger devices it makes no sense. Imagine having to buy every application on your computer through Microsoft or Apple.
  20. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 27, 2010 -> 12:37 PM) This thing is really cool. It's nice, but buying apps through iTunes really sucks. I was hoping for something closer to OS X than iPhoneOS. It's iPhoneOS on steroids.
  21. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jan 27, 2010 -> 12:33 PM) It looks like an iphone for giants. correct.
  22. This thing needs a front facing camera or it is worthless to me.
  23. QUOTE (G&T @ Jan 27, 2010 -> 12:21 PM) My fiancee's reaction is that it sounds like a feminine product. yea, I HATE the name. iSlate is much cooler.
  24. QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 27, 2010 -> 12:12 PM) let me know when they tell us why we want it! (I'm being sincere, too) Here's a reason. It's like reading a newspaper.
