What business is it of yours what White Sox fans want in return for Cease? Realistic or not, that’s what it is. Not your problem.

I haven’t discussed pitching as a priority return. It’s reasonable to accept and offer whatever. There’s little doubt you’ve convinced yourself as being correct.

Likelihood and what’s reasonable are not the same thing

Qualifying as reasonable is a subjective measurement. You have your view, cool. The league hasn’t met Getz’s asking price to date. But it doesn’t sound like Getz is done talking with other teams, who are well aware of the ask. If he ends up keeping him, that’s the choice. Nothing about that is unreasonable.

Are we approaching a deadline of some sort? What hasn’t happened to date is not a solid indicator of what’s “reasonable”

Practically anyone is available for the right price. The point is, do any of those names either provide better value or come at a significantly lower cost? If so, have at it.

How the potential return ranks in the current White Sox system is not a factor. Value is determined on the moving pieces solely. 2 years of Cease is going to be a significant cost. A couple of good prospects that aren’t in the can’t miss category by industry standards, isn’t fair value. Not going to happen.
