  1. The first movie/book was for kids (kind of). They get more and more mature as the kids grow up. Right now, they are on the border between Afterschool Special and Lifetime.
  2. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Nov 20, 2005 -> 03:05 AM) According to the original trade rumor, the Marlins were asking the Rangers for either John Danks or Thomas Diamond. Both of those guys are still prospects, not MLB-ready starting pitchers. We wouldn't send the Marlins Brandon McCarthy but we could still send them a starting pitching prospect like Gio Gonzalez. But, from what I've read, Florida wanted a 3rd team in the deal. Maybe they wanted a pitcher better (ie. more ready) than Danks or Diamond.
  3. If the Texans were smart, they'd trade down to get two 1st rounders. Get two OLs or maybe an OL and a WR.
  4. QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Nov 20, 2005 -> 01:43 AM) I don't see your point. The Marlins would be getting a pitching prospect in either proposed deal. I was speaking regarding SSH's proposal. The Marlins consider themselves a team in contention for the NL East every year now. If they get rid of Beckett, they'd want a decent MLB-ready SP in return.
  5. QUOTE(Fenway @ Nov 19, 2005 -> 01:37 PM) One thing we don't have in common however I think you'll find that most folks here respect the Red Sox and their fans about as much as we respect the Yankkes and their fans, or the Cubs and their fans.
  6. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Nov 19, 2005 -> 12:48 PM) I really like Hank Blalock and Larry Beinfest is one of the five best Gm's in the sport, but you CANT trade Beckett. He has had health issues but he can win you a ring. They will rue the day they let this guy go. This is a no-brainer for pitchign-starved Texas. Danks and Diamond will likely both be good but Beckettology is a number one starter Texas has been pitching-starved for quite awhile. They can't seem to develop good pitching. You'd think that they would check themselves and adjust their scouting and minor league pitching coaches.
  7. Two sentences is an improvement. I think that the reason that he commented like that was because every post that was new by you that day was a one line comment with no actual substance. That's all.
  8. QUOTE(ScottyDo @ Nov 19, 2005 -> 04:18 AM) nah, i live in michigan and comerica's pretty nice. no real downside as far as i can see, except the whole Tigers thing...and my car got broken into last time i went down there. but if you can't see outside the stadium, it's cool. p.s. what's with this praise for wrigley and abhorration for commiskey (yeah i still call it that) and soldier field? it's ridiculous! since when are sports analysts architecture critics? they can hardly spell their own names, mostly... :rolly
  9. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Nov 19, 2005 -> 01:17 AM) More than Timo Only cuz you never asked him to.
  10. Beckett has "blister issues". He can't stay healthy.
  11. The flaky pastry ones or the flaky blonde ones?
  12. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Nov 18, 2005 -> 06:36 PM) Point taken. Quickly starts checking out hustlerpanties.com...
  13. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Nov 18, 2005 -> 06:17 PM) Well yes... but, the flaky pot pie version is good as well. Don't make me "teabag" pic you again!

  16. Anderson in left, Ichiro in right. You betcha.
  17. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 18, 2005 -> 04:11 PM) I would, in a second, for Ichiro. Won't happen though, they'd want one of our SP's. Contreras...maybe?
