  1. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/preview?gid=250915126 San Francisco seemed to be energized in the first two games of the series with the return of slugger Barry Bonds. However, Bonds opted to rest Wednesday -- often his practice for day games following night games -- after playing the previous two nights since his recovery from three operations on his right knee since Jan. 31. That hints to me that he will play tonight.
  2. We have a fantasy area. Cmon down! http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?showforum=15

  4. QUOTE(Texsox @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 01:27 PM) That is a nasty color, it hurt my eyes. Maybe we should use green for optimism it would cover all the bases. "Brilliant!"
  5. The second team is the home team. Due to Katrina, the Saints will be playing a "home game" in Giants Stadium vs. the New York Giants. And, there will be two Monday night games for the first (and probably last) time ever! This thread will be locked at midnight Sunday, so get 'em in early! Baltimore Tennessee Detroit Chicago Minnesota Cincinnati San Francisco Philadelphia Buffalo Tampa Bay Jacksonville Indianapolis New England Carolina Pittsburgh Houston St. Louis Arizona Atlanta Seattle Miami NY Jets Cleveland Green Bay San Diego Denver SUNDAY NIGHT Kansas City Oakland MONDAY NY Giants New Orleans (At NYG) Washington Dallas
  6. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 10:51 AM) True, I would rather the Sox have a deal in place like the Black Hawks do! That would be friggin' sweet! Ladies and Gentlemen, YOUR Chicago Blackhawks!
  7. I'm almost willing to bet that Azumah's injury is more serious than people realize. It could affect his play at DB all year.
  8. QUOTE(3E8 @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 11:39 PM) I want to know the status of his back.. That choking guy looks like Pods.
  9. QUOTE(rudylaw @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 11:37 PM) I we get killed tomorrow, I will kill myself. Seriously... It's a baseball game. Don't use such strong hyperbole.
  10. They are making the 64 Phillies, 69 Cubs and 95 Angels look like amateurs.
  11. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 11:29 PM) On the bright side, I won $50 at the pub by saying the Sox were going to lose entering the bottom of the 9th. Good. Buy a Royals cap with it. :banghead :headshake
  12. I bet PHG is banning left and right at WSI right now.

  14. QUOTE(BFirebird @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 10:51 PM) I love me some Dream Politte!!!! Pfffffffttthhh.... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
  15. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 10:46 PM) He's now had 4 QS in his last 6 starts. That's good enough for a starting pitcher in my book. That's not to say I'm happy with tonight. He sucked. He should be embarassed. Yes, but the two non QS's are embarrassing outings.
  16. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 10:43 PM) Baj is up with Politte. Gee.. WHO will Ozzie bring in?
  17. GAME - Oakland (Zito) gives it up. Cle 6 Oak 4
  18. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 10:31 PM) Unless it's the Lifetime Achievement award No MLB award.
  19. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 10:29 PM) Yeah, just cause you win MotY, it doesn't mean your team will have success for a lengthy amount of time. On the other hand, just cause you win MotY, it doesn't mean you're a great manager. NO award means that you will have a good career.
  20. QUOTE(JimH @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 10:25 PM) I honestly wonder how many guys have won Mgr. of the Year who turned out to have good managerial careers, whether it was with the same team or another. It depends on how the players perform for the most part. http://www.baseball-reference.com/awards/manage.shtml Bobby Cox Tony LaRussa Jim Leyland Tommy Lasorda Sparky Anderson Whitey Herzog
  21. Pods stands there and takes too many pitches.
