  1. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 22, 2010 -> 09:19 PM) Huh? It's on by me. And lol@the Magic. Wow. Could Stan Van Gundy get fired over the series if they get swept and blown out?
  2. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 21, 2010 -> 06:52 PM) The shirt isn't offensive - its a flag. For that matter, I don't care what country's flag it is, its still not offensive. What about the Confederate States of America or Germany's flag from 1932-1944?
  3. If only his non-Sox baseball knowledge would help him win in fantasy baseball.
  4. Ideally, you'd trade for Aramis Ramirez and Adam Dunn. But, Cantu would be cheaper and can play at 3B or 1B if needed. This is mostly a positive thinking thread. I'll leave the "how" of the acquisitions to KW.
  5. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 22, 2010 -> 06:09 PM) I can't remember a year where so many no-names, scrubs or guy that haven't done anything of note in years have started off so well: Ty Wiggington Jose Bautista Jose Guillen Vernon Wells Kelly Johnson Rod Barajas Alex Gonzalez Jorge Cantu John Buck Casey McGehee None of them will make it as starters, but there's a good chance a few of these guys could be all-stars (and not just because one player from each team is required to go) if they keep this up. Wigginton, Guillen, Wells and Cantu usually have good seasons. Cantu had 100 RBI lst year.
  6. If they're serious about a playoff push, the Rangers should get Oswalt.
  7. I recommend Jorge Cantu as a possible option. He's a butcher but can hit like no one's business.
  8. Winner: Alexei Ramirez (14 points) - ChiSox_Sonix, smalls2598.
  9. Tonight is the start of a stretch of great baseball - I can just feel it! Let's get that DH, a stud 3B, and a LH reliever and take this division!
  10. Winner: Alexei Ramirez (6 points) - No one; highest picked: A.J. Pierzynski - SAVVY18.
  11. QUOTE (Benchwarmerjim @ May 20, 2010 -> 11:05 AM) I thought Whitey Ford with 'Chairman of the Board' http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/f/fordwh01.shtml You're right.
  12. QUOTE (G&T @ May 20, 2010 -> 09:01 PM) That's a trademarked image, not merely a silhouette. It is identifiable to Jordan and is used in commerce. A random silhouette does not have the same protection. They really aren't comparable. The problem is that if it is recognizable as Lebron, then you can't use it, especially if it's on a billboard. My pointy was, that before it was "trademarked", Nike had to get permission to use it because it was a likeness, even though it was a silhouette.
  13. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 20, 2010 -> 08:00 PM) It's for a non profit purpose. You'd still need some permission, though. My suggestion would be to proceed at your own risk. It's quicker to not ask for permission and explain later than wait for permission. If you don't make any money off of it, you are less likely to get sued. It could take 3 or 4 months to get permission from Getty and the NBAPA.
  14. Striker and I tried for 3 months over the winter to get MLBPA permission to use a Beckham photo with no success. Any photo or likeness that is used to make money needs permission.
  15. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 20, 2010 -> 07:44 PM) For a silhouette? It's a likeness. Nike had to get permission to use the Jordan logo. Of course, Jordan was not a member of NBAPA. https://wiki-land.wikispaces.com/file/view/...jordan_logo.jpg
  16. You'd also need permission from the NBA Players Association.
  17. I'd like to volunteer this Facebook group to Soxtalk members. http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=2203020570 For those of you who are not Facebook members, it is "The Apostrophe Abuse Society."
