  1. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jul 21, 2009 -> 09:42 AM) Twins Cubs Red Sox Yankees Are you going to hate the Orioles when your son becomes a fan of theirs?
  2. QUOTE (YASNY @ Jul 21, 2009 -> 09:44 AM) Did you notice the date that game was played? Now, that's crazy. One day a year, the baseball gods release the lightning bolt in his arm.
  3. AJ!! AJ!! AJ!! BigEdWalsh's jokes..... AJ!!!
  4. Poreda to AAA, Richard to BP probably; this all hinges on Colon's start on Friday most likely.
  5. QUOTE (CSF @ Jul 20, 2009 -> 06:36 PM) it was easier than the Sox exposing Wise to waivers where he could be claimed for $20,000. That would be a waste of $20,000.
  6. QUOTE (Benchwarmerjim @ Jul 20, 2009 -> 06:15 PM) in order 1. Yankees 2. Cubs 3. Red Sox I feel offended that you don't hate the Sox.
  7. Tom Fornelli posted Levine's Twitter post: RT @espnchicago: Bruce Levine: Freddy Garcia threw 45 pitches and had good life on his fastball and breaking ball, but not much control.
  8. They need to just get it over with and trade Brian Anderson for scraps if they don't respect him as much as Wise. Stop jerking BA and the fan-base around.
  9. QUOTE (chisoxfan09 @ Jul 20, 2009 -> 02:07 PM) Balta, is this quote accurate? Just checked the latest buzz on MLBTR and they have the most current quotes from Olney and they do not mention KW or the Sox. How accurate is this? Seriously?
  10. NONONONONO! He'll be LF or RF. He will recover from his injury; it is not career threatening. Dye will be dealt or will be the DH, more likely.
  11. You guys are the ones who went after me and turned an observation into a 'buster topic. I went here: http://wonder.cdc.gov/Census.HTML and did a search and found that the minorities of those 4 states are 1/3 to 1/2 Hispanic. It was a generality.
  12. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 20, 2009 -> 01:32 PM) Chicago has one of the largest hispanic populations in the country, so, not sure that makes any sense. ...just like there are many left wing loonies in Chicago.
  13. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 20, 2009 -> 01:27 PM) ...and Doctor. Doctor.
  14. I just watched "Spies Like Us" again on TV. Brilliant 80s comedy.
  15. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 20, 2009 -> 12:14 PM) It's what midwesterners would think.
  16. Season opener of Leverage was pretty good.
  17. Marquis would demand too much for his talent level.
  18. QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Jul 19, 2009 -> 05:36 PM) That Muppet Movie that has the stolen diamond and a cameo from Oscar the Grouch Great Muppet Caper
  19. "Flirting with 300" Is that 30 very hot chicks?
  20. QUOTE (3E8 @ Jul 19, 2009 -> 05:24 PM) That wasn't part of the question Neither was Wendy's. (I voted WalMart)
  21. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 19, 2009 -> 04:44 PM) So Ozzie deliberately set up Jenks to fail yesterday as well, because he hadn't pitched for a week since the ASB? There's a difference in a guy with 4 years of mlb closing experience and a guy who's been a reliever all of 11 innings in his entire pro career. Poreda still is working on his offspeed pitches and has control issues. He's not used to coming into games with runners on base. He was a walk (or two) just waiting to happen.
  22. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Jul 19, 2009 -> 04:44 PM) A lot of cool stuff happened in 1969. ATM's are a life-saver. And I love Wendy's. But, yeah, Wal-Mart opening has probably had the largest impact on society. You can live without WalMart; just try going two weeks without an ATM. That's a lot of trips from 9am to 5pm to a bank.
  23. He set up Poreda to fail today. He hasn't pitched in a week, he's already wild. Let's throw him in there rusty with the bases loaded! It gives Ozzie a reason to not pitch him or have him sent to AAA.
