  1. OK Go did the Chicago Fire fight song: http://www.adidas.com/us/campaigns/mls/content/default.asp Click on the Chicago Fire guy to hear it.
  2. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jun 6, 2008 -> 12:12 AM) Which pitcher won 1985 Cy Young and 1985 WS MVP? (this was the "Royal Razzer" Wednesday night at the game, I knew it right away- if you were there and you saw it, don't answer) Bret Saberhagen
  3. QUOTE (ChiSox35 @ Jun 5, 2008 -> 10:41 PM) I wonder where all the "burn Contreras on a stake in the outfield during a seventh inning stretch" people are. Reason being I have some delightful bbq sauce that would go just right with some words. It would be a great picnic with some softball, beer, and afore-mentioned bbq sauce. I don't want to burn the guy but, I'm right here. A non-fan of Contreras. He's having a good season so far, but he's past his prime and should be dealt in the offseason while he still has trade value..
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 5, 2008 -> 08:11 PM) Can Gordon Beckham bunt? I don't know. But, outside of bunting, that description fits Orlando Cabrera.
  5. The ideal #2 guy is a guy who is fast but not as fast as the leadoff man. He's willing to give himself up at the plate to allow stealing, and can sacrifice bunt better than anyone else on the team.
  6. QUOTE (juddling @ Jun 4, 2008 -> 05:51 PM) I had seen a video on Youtube just like that one so i knew what was coming. however...here's the video i saw...it has one team in white and one in black so things aren't quite as obvious. though since i've seen it a few times...i can't NOT see awareness test I took it, and I saw the .
  7. I think that they peaked in 1994 with Treehouse of Horror V, and went downhill after that.
  8. What team offered Carlton Fisk a contract in the 1985-86 collusion offseason; but, was asked to rescind it by Reinsdorf, and did?
  9. QUOTE (jenks45monster @ Jun 4, 2008 -> 05:49 PM) In his entire high school career, how many times did Joe Mauer strike out? One time.
  10. I was going to make a no animation rule until I saw most of the lists. I'll allow it, but only prime time or late night.
  11. My mom (not a sports follower) asked if and why the White Sox are using an athlete's foot germ as their mascot. Needless to say, I was rollin'.
  12. QUOTE (jackie hayes @ Jun 4, 2008 -> 05:46 PM) Yup, all your predictions are coming true. Smoltz was washed up the whole time. It's like Liriano a couple years ago. All the geezers. Matt Cain is destroying the league, and man, does Mariano Rivera suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck... Cain and Jenks will be better than Smoltz and Hoffman in 2009, 2010...etc. Rivera can't stay this successful all season and Cain can't stay this bad his whole career. I'm saying, when it comes to keeper guys and depth, you go with youth.
  13. Anyone else having issues with mlb.tv tonight?
  14. What's with the fish frying references?
  15. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Jun 4, 2008 -> 05:39 PM) Whatever happened to the rabbit that came out of the ground to give the pitcher a new ball? Did that ever exist or did I imagine that as a kid? Son... I'm gonna tell you just one time. Stay off the drugs.
  16. QUOTE (Gregory Pratt @ Jun 4, 2008 -> 05:30 PM) Who was the last switch-hitter to win an AL MVP award? I cheated. Excellent question Pratt! Vida Blue
  17. QUOTE (Benchwarmerjim @ Jun 4, 2008 -> 04:29 PM) Hank Aaron? That's correct!
  18. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Jun 4, 2008 -> 01:01 PM) Minnie Minoso? Technically yes, but I mean full-time player. Not the 1976/1980 Veeck/Reinsdorf experiment.
  19. It was a plain as the on your face.
  20. Ladies and gentlemen, can I please have your attention. I've just been handed an urgent and horrifying news story. I need all of you, to stop what you're doing and listen. Cannonball!
