QUOTE(jenks45monster @ Feb 27, 2008 -> 07:11 PM) I really wouldn't want the bastard, drunk, Cub fans at the Cell. This is just one example, some drunk a-hole sliding through the urinals. ***king sick. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OfV6Yo2-q0o Hate to break it to you, but I've seen things similar that at the Cell as well. Those bathrooms are damn nasty during/after games sometimes. Plus some people when they partake in beverages, don't know their limits. I've been a casualty of being in the wrong place at the wrong time in a beer fight at the Cell before. Not pretty.

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Feb 27, 2008 -> 06:13 PM) AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX LOSER! haha Oh how it's been awhile since I've typed those words. I'll probably have a lot of practice this season, though. Seriously, is that necessary? Schadenfreude against your own team just seems so extremely depressing.

QUOTE(jenks45monster @ Feb 27, 2008 -> 06:28 PM) Why not Soldier Field, like the good old days? Maybe my memory is fuzzy, but, when did the Cubs play in Soldier Field? I know that the Bears played football at Wrigley, but I'd never heard it the other way around.

They have cap holders that fit inside the cap that help it to keep shape. They are made so that you can put it in the dishwasher and clean it. It might help to re-size it some*. */I'm not at fault if anything happens though, I've never tried it myself.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Feb 27, 2008 -> 05:44 PM) After they wouldn't let him run for President, I'm not that surprised. Yeah. He had to hang on the coattails of that anchor which is Mike Huckabee. -
Has the Internet taken some fun out of baseball?
knightni replied to Controlled Chaos's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Twenty to 25 years ago, I was a Sporting News boxscore fanatic. I had a Sports Illustrated subscription and bought Street and Smith every year. I also used to pour over the Sunday paper for the baseball stats and I'd cut special boxscores out of the paper and save them, (perfect games, etc.) I loved the early This Week In Baseball's, the Saturday Game of The Week on NBC and collecting cards to compare stats and put imaginary lineups together. I loved The National. I still miss it. Fifteen years ago, I had an early roto-style dice game I used to play and I was involved in a fantasy baseball league where we used to have live drafts at a guy's house, do trades and transactions over the phone, and get stats mailed to us every week. I guess I have always been a stat-head even though I also love watching for the general "love of the game." -

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Feb 27, 2008 -> 04:41 PM) For that to happen...we have to find a supply of a sweetener that could replace corn syrup at a reasonable price. For example, sugar. But the votes of a small group in Florida have a habit of being more important for some reason. And after 50 years, the embargo finally seems to be working! I heard that joke somewhere. Jon Stewart? -
QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Feb 27, 2008 -> 05:20 PM) Well Diablo's certainly getting quite a bit of work now though. Weird name though, Diablo. It's a stripper name that she took up when she started writing (and stripping). Wiki her and you'll see her real name.

Nick Masset reports 25 pounds lighter and stronger

QUOTE(haroldbainesknees @ Feb 17, 2008 -> 10:25 AM) I'm glad that Masset is in shape. It does not matter how much weight Masset loses if he can't throw strikes, or how plus his stuff is. Yep. Who'd you rather have, Jenks or Sisco? -

That's fine. I see your point. Although if I were a player, I'd much rather win a fair fight against an equal opponent than to continually lose to a bigger guy who has an unfair advantage. "At least we got there," doen't hang on the gym wall as well as a state championship banner does. The smaller schools may play with the bigger guys on occasion, but they hardly ever won the "big one." That's MY point. -

If they outlaw the use of high-fructose corn syrup in food products, they might just have thinner kids and more corn available for ethanol. -

That means nothing. When did a school smaller than 3A, win the whole thing? Plymouth was equal to a 3A school, as was New Albany. Milan's even 2A today. -

QUOTE(fathom @ Feb 26, 2008 -> 09:42 PM) That Jajuan Smith three pointer was ridiculous....nice range. They really need to move the line back to the international range. -
Why not just email them through the newspapers'/radio station's websites? That's how I got Rongey, Bob Valvano and Jayson Stark.

I emailed him about Skanberg's cartoon awhile back. He got a kick out of his portrayal. He used to talk about getting more pie in his postgame show after that.

I dropped Marquis for Miguel Batista already. Batista's a placeholder until a better SP comes along.

QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Feb 26, 2008 -> 12:08 PM) Wow, that's a big league. Roto, I guess? You'll tank batting average, and your pitching has some injury concerns. You only have one real strikeout pitcher, and he's one of those concerns (although I think he's a good pick). It's tough to judge overall when I've never been in a league that big. I really think that about half my guys are due for a career year, a breakout or a comeback. Most of them except for Rollins, Jenks and Hill are either coming off a poorer than normal season, or a partial season due to being so young. I'm looking for the rebound. But yeah, the BA will be down.

QUOTE(BearSox @ Feb 23, 2008 -> 11:13 PM) yeah, cause the weather is so predictable 2 months in advance... it can be pleasent or horrible as f*** outside. These players should deal with it anyway, as they get paid MILLIONS to play a sport. If they can't handle the weather then boo-freaking-hoo. Yeah til Sweeney sprains his vagina in the cold weather. Or worse, Fields or Buehrle pull hammys.

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Feb 26, 2008 -> 01:57 AM) I have enough Ks. He's a guy who'll win games for me and give me innings. He's your worst pitcher IMO. Pence is going to be a real sleeper this year.
