  8. Mat Gamel, Trade Bait? By Mark Polishuk [October 7 at 6:38pm CST] Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel is speculating that Mat Gamel might be a candidate to be traded in the offseason based on comments made by Milwaukee general manager Doug Melvin and assistant GM Gord Ash during their end-of-season press conference on Wednesday. The Brewers' management team said that Casey McGehee has "taken the bull by the horns" for the starting third base job next season in the wake of McGehee's .301/.360/.499 performance in 394 plate appearances as a rookie last season. Gamel, in contrast, posted a .242/.338/.422 line in 148 plate appearances. Melvin ruled out Gamel moving to the outfield and Ash said that the Brewers will "probably have to be higher risk taking than we have been in the past" in terms of dealing prospects, thus making it appear that Milwaukee will at least listen to offers for their slugging prospect. Gamel is a year removed from an overall .923 OPS between Double-A Huntsville and Triple-A Nashville in 2008 and is an attractive option for a team looking to shed payroll and give the Brewers one of the starters on their winter wish-list. An American League destination might be the ideal spot for Gamel, who made seven errors in 61 chances at third base last season.
  9. Read on MLBTR that Ozzie thinks Figgins will be too expensive for the Sox and there is one saying Pods is going to explore FA market.
  10. I know Hawk was saying Ozzie wants Kotsay back... I would like to see him back as well.
  11. What's the big deal about this? He has 8 for his career....
  12. Good to see now that the pressure is off these guys decide to start hitting....
  13. If Oz is really that pissed at the vets he should just bench em all for the remainder of the season... which would give most of us what we want anyway. To watch the kids and he gets to look like he is punishing the vets.
  14. QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Sep 26, 2009 -> 09:43 PM) I think you're on to something! Thinking on it.. I have never seen them both in the same room at the same time....

  18. QUOTE (WCSox @ Sep 24, 2009 -> 07:58 PM) I can't imagine how bad our offense will be next year without PK in the lineup. Quentin would draw 200 walks. Yeah because God knows the Sox couldn't find someone to make up some of his production. But as I stated in that post I would rather deal PK than Buehrle
