2+ feet of snow from one storm is a lot of snow no matter where it is. The President's aid making a quip saying that the weather was like an April day in Chicago is funny but far from accurate. I think Chicago averages around 40" of snow a year. The lake snow belts are the places that routinely get hammered, and 2+ feet of snow there would not as big a deal of course. Regardless, treacherous travel conditions will result and everything slows down. I lived in Juneau, AK for over two years, and I saw plenty of snow. The last winter I was there there was over 3 feet of snow on the ground twice. Once there was over 4 feet on the ground. It was funny how people almost shrugged it off as if it was nothing. But, there was only one major storm that dropped about 20" at once. That slowed things down. Having lived in Baltimore for about 2 years as well, I know how even 3" cripples that area. They just don't have the snow removal capacity that places like Chicago do. Plus, people who live there freak out like it's a blizzard. I couldn't imagine what it was like to see 2+ feet.

We have friends that have huge, beautiful houses, but they are struggling to pay their mortgage each month. That can't be any way to live.

I'm the king of procrastination...outside of work. Every year I'm scrambling to buy Christmas presents for my family on December 20, and I always say I will do it earlier next year. I never do. At work, though, I use checklists, notes stuck to my computer monitor, and my personal favorite Microsoft Access. I know this doesn't really help with your issue, but I've learned to manage my time very effectively at work. It's the time outside of work I need to work on.

I agree that there doesn't seem to be enough time in one day. And as far as getting eight hours of sleep a day? That only happens to me on the weekend. However, it's my fault. I could go to be earlier, but I like to spend some time watching TV or reading after the kids get to bed. I find it hard to remember what I did with my time before kids. It seemed like I was always so busy. Obviously I wasn't.

Just plugging the hole that is the DH position would be nice. I don't care for the flexibility that Ozzie wants or sees for that matter. Even though he's not the LH bat we think the team needs, I like the idea of Damon. Hell, if we're not going to sign a DH, let's just have JR and KW plead their case to Bud Selig to get the Sox moved to the NL.
