I dont really like Plumlee, but I dislike Duke players so its hard for me to be reasonable about him. If I had to guess, hell be defensive big back up, maybe get 5-10 minutes a game. Not really anything to write home about and he really has a limited ceiling. If you are talking big man late you might as well try Ezeli or Henry Sims, at least they have upside.
-
Drummond? Who knows, I actually prefer Meyers because you have far more understanding of what you are going to get. If your purely looking for a Center who can give good minutes, you can probably be fine with Henson in the 10-15 range. Drummond was supposed to be a monster, but his impact was severely limited this year. I always have concerns with guys who cant shoot ft's because it generally goes with a player not having a good jump shot, etc. http://nbadraft.net/players/andre-drummond http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Andre-Drummond-5772/ Id say you are likely getting a guy comparable to DeAndre Jordan, who has potential to be Dwight Howard or could be a complete bust.

No the bolded questions are irrelevant to the other questions. Either she A) knew how much money her husband had or she B) didnt know. If the answer is A, she perjured herself, it doesnt matter that she said her brother in law may know. If the answer is B, she didnt commit perjury. Here is a similar example, well use Barry Bonds: Did you take steroids? No He is charged with perjury. It doesnt matter if the next question is: Do you know anyone who may have known if you took steroids? Yes Who? My doctor. There mere fact he was telling the truth in the omitted section does not change whether or not he perjured in the original question. Perjury is not about context, it is about whether or not you answered truthfully to a specific question. Thus the part omitted is irrelevant. The question is, did his WIFE actually know about the money at the time of the questioning. If she did know about the money her answer "I do not" is perjury. It does not matter if his brother in law knew, what matters is whether she knew at the time she answered "I dont know."

Remember when marriage was defined as only allowing people of the same race to marry? Remember when marriage was defined as something that was forever and divorces would result in excommunication? Its sad that people think the past is a good rationale for why we do something today.

Noah is far more polished than either Leonard or Drummond. Drummond is a complete wildcard, I think he shot 29% from the free throw line.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 04:29 PM) I honestly prefer grabbing a big man who is better in the pick and roll and can actually make a shot. Defense and energy are easier to find IMO. Bulls should trade their 1st for Jon Leuer
-
Im not really a big fan of trading Noah at this point. There are just to many risks and no guaranteed improvement. I think he is replaceable, the problem is you first need to have the replacement.

QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 03:20 PM) Even mildly dishonest journalists use ... to indicate that they left something out that was there. Piecing together lines that didnt go together IS editing. I didnt see that, where was there a question that they used an answer from a different question? I dont know what journalists do, I do know that in court every day this occurs when you are impeaching a witnesses testimony. I could be missing something, but to me it just seems she omitted certain sections, which is absolutely allowed.
-
I guess in that scenario the Bulls draft a big at 5? Seems kind of perplexing.
-
And I agree with that, what Im troubled by is if the 50/50 calls are going the Heat's way at OKC, what is going to happen when they play at Miami? I know thats entirely speculation, but part of the idea about commenting on the refs would be in the hope that the league calls the games more straight up in the future. I guess it just ruins my enjoyment, Id rather watch games where there was less ref involvement, where the fouls had to be much more egregious.
-
Unfortunately basketball is the one sport where I feel refs can really impact the game and it does make a difference. Compare it to football/baseball, where I probably never comment about the refs, although I probably was pissed with the last play of the Rose Bowl, but thats because the guy behind Wilson ran the clock before the whistle blew. The point is, I dont go out of my way to complain about refs, I comment on them when I think its warranted.
-
QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 01:28 PM) So, no comments on the prosecutor editing testimony? Because the prosecutor didnt edit testimony. The prosecutor merely left out certain portions, which is standard practice when you are trying to impeach a witness. The prosecutor doesnt have to argue for the defense, its up to the defense to argue that when the statement is taken in its entirety that it was not perjury etc. So there really is nothing to comment on. It would be like arguing I did something wrong because I made a witness out to be a liar over a certain part, but didnt also bring out a part that may have been exculpatory. Editing testimony would have been if the answer was "no" in the transcript and the Prosecutor changed it to "yes".

QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 12:43 PM) Badger does seem to constantly complain about refs, but come on J4L, you can't ADMIT that you didn't watch the game and then basically call everyone a bunch of crybabies for complaining about the officials. Zoom you know thats not even close to accurate. We talk about basketball all the time, I only mention the refs when something clearly has been incorrectly called. I dont go out of my way to talk about the refs, just because the refs have been s***ty in some of these games doesnt mean Im fixating on them, Im speaking my opinion. I dont know what J4L's deal is, if he actually watched the game last night maybe he could comment on the reffing, but since he didnt, he really has nothing to say.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 12:41 PM) I don't know who you think you are. I guess you're a lawyer or a lawyer in training or whatever. But please, would you STFU? You have spent this ENTIRE postseason b****ing, whining, moaning, complaining and any other word you can think of about the referees. You did it in the Bulls/Sixers series. You did it with the heat/pacers. You did it with the heat/cetlics. And you're doing it now. FIND ANOTHER SPORT TO WATCH. Get over the decision and the dumb party afterwards. it was two years ago. You add absolutely nothing. people can disagree with me all they want. But i do bring something to this thread, whether you, or anybody else, want to admit it or not. Go support sandusky and just stfu. You dont know who I am? I am just an internet poster who actually watches the NBA, unlike you. Some times I think the refs are bogus, other times I dont. I dont post after every game about the refs, in fact up until recently your b**** about my posts were completely different, I think it was something along the lines that I post meaningless things like "If you make more baskets youll win." I believe that was you, but you can correct me if Im wrong, I dont really have a spreadsheet of all the people in this thread who have made unsupported ridiculous comments about me. That being said, why should I find another sport to watch. Wouldnt it be simpler for you to not post in this thread when you actually have no first hand knowledge on the subject? Isnt what would be easier for all of us, is that you dont post about things you actually dont know. You could at minimum not complain about people commenting about a game you didnt even take the time to watch. Its great that immediately after the game you claim you thought something, but that is unprovable. Its just like me saying "I knew when the Heat won J4l would post in this thread stupid nonsense even though he didnt watch the game", after you already posted it. Anyone can be right when they are posting after someone else. As for getting over the decision, I like Lebron, maybe you should actually read my posts, I like Lebron, I dont like Wade. Wade had nothing to do with the decision, I constantly talk about how Lebron is being bagged on for no reason. So what are you talking about, really, what in the world is the point of your posts? Because other places people think that you know something about NBA, but you sure as hell arent proving it here. You make unsupported comments without watching the game. You tell me to stop posting here, even though you are the one that has no clue what happened yesterday, as once again, you didnt watch the game. So please stop with the nonsense, it has to be embarrassing for you. And the most ironic part, if I add nothing, why are you responding to me? Thats quite a hypocritical statement. I wont even go into your pathetic Sandusky comment, you have something to say about that, you want to be a big man and argue, go in the Sandusky thread, and find a quote where I support Sandusky. Until then all you are doing is acting like a child who got a F on a test because "I didnt bother reading the textbook, but I know more than everyone in the class, because I just do." If you really believe what you write, its kind of sad.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 11:54 AM) Dude, shut up. It's not about being right or wrong. And I've never claimed to be some kinda genius. This thread is horrible. I can't even learn anything from this thread when i'm sober. I didn't even see the game last night and i knew that once i came here that soxbadger and the rest of the gang would be crying about the refs over and over and over and over and over again. It's pathetic. Yet we are pathetic. Perhaps you should watch the game you seem to think you know so much about. Lunch time!

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 11:50 AM) My point was that if the roles were reversed last night, the talk today would only be about LeBron choking again, not about a no-call. But because the game ended in Miami's favor, it's automatically time to b**** about the refs. I never talk about Lebron choking, its a joke how he is treated. The guy basically carries the Heat and people b**** about it, its annoying. So, again, Im not really sure why we shouldnt talk about reffing when it impacts the game.

QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 11:42 AM) What do you expect RE: Bulls/Rose in a thread about the NBA on a board comprised predominantly of individuals from Chicago? Sounds like he expects it to be the College Basketball or Football thread where you have a mix of fans who are passionate about different teams, so they watch all the games and actually can speak knowledgeably about them.
-
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 11:41 AM) You missed my point but whatever. You had no point. Last nights game lead to people discussing the referees, some people dont think it was a big deal, other people do. But to try and insinuate somehow Soxtalk does it more than a common fan is ludicrous and not supported by fact. Unless you can somehow prove that Soxtalk does complain/discuss refs more than an average NBA fan.
-
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 11:39 AM) Please. You and everybody here owes me for bringing some variety and a different perspective to this abomination of a thread. You and the rest of the crybabies in here chased off one of the best posters (felix) this board has ever seen. Why? Because he chose not to suck Rose's cock and recognize this is the NBA thread and not the Bulls thread aka Rose is so amazing because he's humble aka the refs are the reason the bulls ever lose aka LeBron should never see the ft line and if he does its a conspiracy garbage. Comedy gold Jerry, comedy gold.

Sometimes its hard to imagine what is going on in their mind.

I have no idea without looking at the corporate documents. I imagine that Penn State its a separate entity, but who knows.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 10:47 AM) And here's another article on Yahoo saying that the call didn't matter, LeBron beat Durant, series tied. Here's another article written that says a no-call was the right decison and questions the Battier blocking foul. So there are a bunch of articles discussing the impact on reffing, and youre conclusion is it is only a Soxtalk phenomenon? Zoom, Its a different dynamic. But its criminal to have Fischer taking shots away from good players.
-
I would disagree with the above. When we are hiring we put it out in the law schools database, but we also post it on Craiglist and other sites as well. Just because you dont have access to a big school network, doesnt mean you cant get access to job postings.
-
Really, you think that Soxtalk influenced yahoo to write an article about it? http://sports.yahoo.com/news/nba--heat-eve...bron-james.html I didnt realize how influential this message board was, I guess they should give us credit.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 08:49 AM) Durant shouldn't have been in the game at the end. That Shane Battier blocking foul with 3:19 left was a brutal call, that should have been #6 on KD. Battier slid under Durant after Durant was already in the air. That really should be a blocking foul. The NBA has started calling this way to many times. If the offensive player is already in the air, the defensive player should not have a right to slide under him. That was one of the few 50/50 calls that went OKC's way. The majority went to the Heat. Say what you want, but there is a reason why a lot of people are talking about the refs, and its not just because Soxtalk posters always complain about the Bulls or Heat.
