  1. Littlehurt, Where has anyone argued differently? J4l is trying to argue that in the 90s Super Bowls werent won by teams with HOF QB's. No one is arguing there is more offensive stats in 2000 beyond.
  2. Bigger, stronger, faster does not make you a better player. Jerry Rice wasnt the fastest receiver in the 80s or 90s, yet he is the BEST WR OF ALL TIME (no debate.) Lets look at RBs, Walter Payton, Barry Sanders, Jim Brown, did any of them play after 2000? So once again, not sure what you are arguing. Since 1990 teams with HOF qbs have won the majority of Super Bowls. When we look back at 2000- on this trend will stay the same. So what difference is there saying 1990 or 2000? The only argument is that QB's have attempted more passes, but If anything that would have meant guys like Marion, Young, Elway, Montana, Farve would have put up better stats.
  3. I was closer than Drunkbomber, but Obama is right, no one won. And there doesnt have to be a winner, he was offering something free and he made the rules.
  4. j4l, What? The 90s were dominated by offense. I dont even know what you are arguing. The Cowboys had Aikman, Irvin and Smith, the 49ers had Young, Taylor and Rice. Broncos had Elway, Smith and Sharpe. As for athletes, Ill take Deion and many of the other 90's athletes. This isnt a comparison to 1970, there were plenty of amazing athletes in the 90s, and thats why the all time leading rusher, all time leading receiver and all time leading passer played in the 90s.
  5. Eh it depends on how you define "elite" which I think is getting a little to broad these days. That being said, why say last 9, I think the simple truth is from 1990 on the majority of Super Bowls have been won by teams with HOF QB's. Doesnt mean you have to have a HOF Qb, just your chances of winning are significantly improved.
  6. Papa Johns is pretty terrible. There used to be one in my apartment building in college and I probably never went there.Back then it was Casa Bianca or Ian's for me (There is now an Ian's in Wrigleyville, same thing as the one in Madison, except pricier.) In terms of chains I dont mind Pizza Hut.
  7. A lot of priests have done a lot worse than anything even Paterno's worst enemy would accuse him of, so I find it ironic people are so convinced that heaven isnt full of child molesters. Now we will never really know what happened, unfortunate.
  8. If Im Bielen I draw up a play for Novak to take a 3 and just try and win it here.
  9. QUOTE (Tex @ Jan 21, 2012 -> 07:54 AM) This society loves to attack and ridicule people who fail while trying to reach a higher goal, while cheering those who "push the envelope" of indecency. No way you can ridicule someone who isn't trying. But hey, have you done the two women yet? Imagine this line, I f***ing hate your holier than though attitude of doing two women at once and then you fail. Look at that f***er, always talking about how he doesn't care about morality then he f***ing is the most moral person I know. I knew he was just like everyone else. Bonds and Rose get defended, Tebow gets attacked. We are pack animals and want everyone to be just like ourselves. When someone tries to be different, that makes us nervous and anxious. Interesting bit of human behavior. Not sure where you are going with this. I dont believe in allowing society to define "morals". I would never run a campaign based on societal morality. Now if I went on stage and said "I had sex with 2 girls at a time" and it turned out I lied, I would absolutely expect for people to attack my integrity. As for trying, I try and be a good person based on what I believe that means. I dont believe being a good person has anything to do with whether or not gay people marry, or whether a guy has an open marriage, or whether some one has had 3 divorces or no divorces, whether or not a guy used a cigar for a dildo, none of that matters to me. I guess I dont believe any of that is a "higher goal", I believe a higher goal would be freedom and equality for all, which unfortunately goes against the "morals" of many in this country.

    SOPA

The same way patents are, but society determined that in order to give incentive to inventors, you have to allow them to protect their idea for X period of time, which is why patents/copyrights are not forever.
  11. Thank you farmteam. I think a lot of people would take Crean today over Weber.
  12. Steve you need to check your funny detector, thought "the classics" would indicate the joke.
  13. I dont care if Crean was coaching with little sisters of the poor players, it doesnt change the fact in his entire coaching career he has 1 conference title and it was in the American conference. Bruce Weber had success at SIU where he finished #1 back to back years and went to the NCAA including a sweet 16. Were those Self's recruits? Because Weber was at SIU for 5 years, so Im not sure how Self recruiting at Illinois helped him at SIU. You can believe that Crean is a better coach, thats a subjective statement. But if you say Crean "has done more than Weber", an objective statement, that is just false. Weber has more wins, more conference titles, better winning percentage, more NCAA appearances. Your right stats are like bikinis, they dont show everything. But if the stats show shes a fat girl wearing a bikini, the chances that she is skinny under the bikini are pretty damn low. And then when you add to that the fact that there are basically NO STATS that SUPPORT CREAN HAS DONE MORE THAN WEBER, it seems to an objective observer that this is Indiana homerism at its finest. Neither Weber or Crean are my coach, so as an outside observer its kind of hilarious to read the excuses.
  14. I really only like a few basketball announcers, Charles Barkley, Stacey King, you know the classics.
  15. It was a joke, Hubie Brown (I think that is who was announcing) said that Del Negro called a good time out. I was joking about how his team is always falling apart. And I do love to hate, its pretty fun.
  16. Del Negro is good at calling time outs while his team falls apart.
  17. Your argument for why Tom Crean has done more than Weber is because Crean had really bad recruits 2 years. What about all the other years, you know the fact that he only has 1 conference title, even when Marquette was in the American? I just dont see how you can objectively say Crean has done more than Weber.
  18. Bruce Weber still has accomplished more even you if you completely forget that Tom Crean had 2 years that are by far worse than any year Bo Ryan or Bruce Weber have had at any level or team that they ever coached at. Ive never seen this level of kool aid over a coach who currently is 43-69 at supposedly one of the most prestigious basketball schools in the country.
  19. Heh, Id say if Howard stays healthy this year its probably between him and lebron, in the east.
  20. Part of the problem is Griffin really wants to be a high flying SF.
