Odd if Mark goes to the Nats. I would think hed prefer to get paid less/shorter deal to play somewhere he wants. -
Wow super hurtful How I Met Your Mother.

Ventura wants to play Dunn in the field more
Soxbadger replied to joeynach's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Ventura answered the only way possible. Sox are going to try and do things to help Dunn hit better. That may mean he plays 1b for 1 inning, it may mean he plays 0 innings. It hurts no one to suggest it. -
Santos had some issues with lefties (723 ops v 427 against righties), its possible that the Sox felt that Santos was at his peak value and thus traded what would be a depreciating asset. Not the guy you expect to be traded, but if you arent serious about winning you dont really need a closer.

I agree there will always be complaints, and no one is forcing people to watch the games. I just think some of the rules are silly. -

Ah okay didnt think about Stanford being 4 (doesnt make sense when Oregon beat them pretty easily, but this is the year of teams who dont win championships being in the top 4). Id guess Michigan is staying at home, but then again Big10 has always had 2 BCS teams. -

I dont really care if MSU or Michigan got selected, I just think MSU deserved the chance to be screwed. I assume that OSU would have gotten into the BCS, even if it meant no Stanford. -

Rex, Im not saying that the loser gets a bid. Im saying that the loser should be able to be considered for a bid. If dont get taken so be it, but I really dont see the problem with making there 3-5 more eligible teams. -

I mean that Id rather have Troy Aikman come back from the booth than McCown. Screw the system the Bears need someone who can throw a pass and wont turn the ball over. McCown has some unbelievable numbers. 47 games played, 40 interceptions, 30 fumbles. Heres another stat, last time he played was 2009. Last time he threw more than 10 passes, 2007. Its just really not a good plan. -

Rex, Why cant they make a rule that only involves conferences with championship games? The NCAA already has rules that only effect those conferences with championship games. It simply would read, "Both team that makes a conference championship where the winner would be entitled to an automatic bid BCS bid will be eligible for BCS game selection." BCS conferences are already limited to 2 teams, so all it really does is allow the bowl games to pick a better team, the spot still is going to a major conference. -

I just think that there is something stupid about having such a stringent rule as 14th team. Why not just amend the rule to 14th team or team to lose a CCG. That way they could have taken MSU if they thought they were deserving. I dont really care that Michigan got in, hopefully they dont play bad is all I care about. -

I thought people were saying MSU should be in over Michigan because they beat Michigan head to head and would been the BCS selection but for losing a CCG against Wisconsin that Michigan didnt have to play. As for the other schools, bowl games need to sell tickets. Its hard enough to sell out games to teams with hundreds of thousands of fans. I doubt many casual fans are going to take a vacation to see Boise State play K-State. -

Rex, The BCS does have a slight impact on bowl selections. If you arent in the top 14 (or is it 16) you can not go to a BCS bowl game. Thus MSU could have not been selected. I also believe ND must be ranked higher than a certain spot in the BCS to be eligible. So its not a huge one, but it does happen. -

I dont think anyone believes McNabb or Farve are the answer. But if Hanie goes out against Denver and is terrible, at least the Bears should have someone to turn to. Right now its just stupid. -

Only 3 players deserve Heisman consideration, RG3, Ball and Wilson. Because Ball and Wilson are on the same team, I expect RGIII to win. -

I personally think Oregon is one of the better match ups for Wisconsin because Oregon is not built to play a big time running game. And Wisconsin could frustrate them with long drives. Wisconsin's offense can keep up with Oregon if they really need to.Wilson had significantly better passing stats than Oregon's QB. -

That is personal preference. Personally I think that OSU would have gone no better than 11-1 with Alabama's schedule, and that likely Alabama would have gone 11-1 with OSU's schedule. I wanted OSU v LSU, I just understand why Alabama got the chance. -

I think Wisconsin could give Oregon problems. If you watched Oregon play UCLA they had a real tough time with a strong run game. Should be a really good game. -

For the record, OSU did not play a CCG like Alabama. OSU also did not have to win their division (like Alabama), because the Big 12 did not have divisions. Most people are going to agree that losing a game to LSU in OT is better than losing a game to ISU in OT. The best argument for OSU, is that OSU didnt play LSU and therefore its a new and more interesting match up. -

Alabama has a slightly better argument. LSU and Bama are #1 and #2, if those 2 teams play, 1 of them had to lose. OSU lost to a team that was not even a top 25 team. Personally I preferred a new match up, but there is definitely a good argument for both cases. -

Open competition between McNabb and Farve. Whoever is better gets the vaunted Bears job. -

Id think Ball should win the Heisman. When you look back at what he did this year, its just really hard to argue Richardson over him: Ball: Rushing yards 1,759, yards per attempt 6.4, TD's 32 Receiving yards 255, TD's 6 Richardson: Rushing yards 1,583, yards per attempt 6.0, TD's 20 Receiving yards 327, TD's 3 If you go QB, I think its Wilson or Griffin. Both could break the record for passer rating. Griffin 192.3, Wilson 191.6... Luck 167.8 Just really no good reason Luck should even be in the equation. -

This happened before, FSU v Florida. FSU won the first game, lost the second. Only difference was FSU beat Florida @ FSU. Florida beat FSU badly in the title game. I think there are certain circumstances where a match up makes sense and is compelling, I just dont think it was the best match up this year. -
