Chip and Stone's Prior comments today....
Well, Let's just hope that Prior comes back by the beginning of May. For the good of my fantasy team, you know? Hey, what's wrong with Steve Stone? I like that guy.

Do the Sox need a different 2b?
Perhaps. All that I remember are a bunch of 0-4 games. For all I know, he was playing through injuries & he kept it to himself. I dropped him before long, though. I picked up Podsednik. Milwaukee will have a very respectable lineup if he returns to his 2002 form. I can't believe that they got Counsell, Overbay, Moehler, and Spivey for Sexson. That's beyond belief.

Most HR's
Debut June 13, 1872 Born September 21, 1849 in Wymondham, England Died September 1, 1872 in Brooklyn, NY Still a very sad story, though.

Most HR's
Did Al get murdered or something? He died during his rookie season at the age of 22.

Why should Dan Wright earn that 5th spot?
This guy is intoxicated

Ozzie article
I could have sworn that KW went on and on about how we needed "grinders" for like half an hour at a press conference after the conclusion of the 2003 season. Make up your mind, Kenny.

What should the Sox do with Schoenweis?
Jose Canseco could post a better ERA than 13.72. Sweet Jesus. Hell, I'd probably be able to do better, and all that I have is a 60 MPH fastball. I don't want to hear anything about new pitches. He needs some time in the minors if he wants to go that route. Or how about just one new pitch instead of two. WHY TWO NEW PITCHES? Who learns two new pitches in a month? Sounds goofy as hell from where I'm sitting. We have so much pitching talent in this organization, you know? Bring up a kid. Surprise me for once. Where are our Brandon Webbs at?

I never actually posted on that site. I'm glad that I found this one.

Do the Sox need a different 2b?
I had Spivey on my fantasy team last year, and boy, did he hit a wall. And if you can't hit in Arizona, you can't hit anywhere. It's up there with the most hitter-friendly parks in the league. So I definitely don't trust Spivey. A flash in the pan until he proves me wrong. Just an automatic out in our lineup if we were to acquire him.

Do the Sox need a different 2b?
I don't understand that one. The Orioles might just have the best 2B platoon in the majors with Roberts and Hairston. Check out their stats from last year. I'd say that they'd be the last team in the majors that would trade for Damian Jackson. The 2B position is a fantasy nightmare. I ended up having to take a chance on Aaron Miles. D'Angelo Jiminez is actually a top 10 second basemen right now in terms of dollar value. A sad state of affairs.

Do the Sox need a different 2b?
There are no second basemen out there. Take a look at the AL Central, for instance. Willie Harris, Ronnie Belliard, Fernando Vina, Desi Relaford, and Luis Rivas. Awful, to say the least.

Do the Sox need a different 2b?
I guess that I was supposed to write that in green?

Do the Sox need a different 2b?
I don't think that we should go afta Spivey. He got sent to baseball exile for a reason. Maybe we should go after Miles?

Pitching Prospects

Royals lose another pitcher:
But I wouldn't touch anyone else on that pitching staff with a 10 foot pole.

Royals lose another pitcher:
You might want to do some research on that one. Scouts say that he has the nastiest stuff of any young left handed pitcher in the majors. No more blister problems either, as he had a chunk of the fingernail removed which was causing them.

Best Prospect
I hate the fact that not one catcher, shortstop, or second baseman is on that list. They've drafted far too many pitchers in the high rounds in recent years. That's usually the way to go, but they've done it to a fault. What happened to our Central and Southern American pipelines?

MORE physical trouble for Prior
Damn, this sucks. He was my #1 draft pick in my fantasy league. It's a 15 team league with 20 man rosters. 7 of my first 8 draft picks were pitchers. Prior, Mussina, Mulder, Foulke, Guardado, Piniero, Buehrle, and in the latter rounds, Jeremy Affeldt, Corey Lee, and Carl Pavano (who might still suck, despite what he did in the playoffs). You would think that my offense was brutal with 7 of my first 8 draft picks being pitchers, but all 9 guys hit over .300 last year with the exception of Brad Wilkerson. Scott Podsednik (.314), Alex Cintron (.317), Bill Mueller (.326), Marlon Byrd (.303), A.J. Pierzynski (.312), Doug Mientkiwicz (.300), Geoff Jenkins (.296), and Aaron Miles (.333). 8 out of 9 cleared the .350 OBP level. The jury is still out on Miles. I also have Victor Martinez on the bench just in case Pierzynski goes to sleep over there in San Francisco. A nice, humble offense. Nothing special. Guaranteed to finish dead last in the league in HR and RBI. But considering that all 6 pitching categories are mine without question, being up there in AVG, OBP, and RUNS would work out nicely. I'm looking like middle of the pack caliber in SB right now, unless Byrd can go for 30. So, in order to stay on track, I need Affeldt to replace Prior and kick some major ass in April. Go Affeldt. Garland is available on the free agent list, but I'm going to have to pass on that opportunity. Some guy in my league picked up Koch.

Kenny is on the Score right now..
Not too many score fans on this site, I take it? Wednesday's show was an absolute joy to listen to. Not only was the Kenny Williams interview outstanding, but Kelly Wunsch came on & had me rolling the entire time. That guy is hilarious. I love Kelly, Boers and Bernstien love Kelly, and I'm sure that Ozzie does as well, as he has already expressed love for Buehrle, Garland, Loaiza, and Adkins within the past week alone. But nobody seems to have any love for Shingo or Koch.

Sunday's game
I read somewhere that he loved Albert Belle?

The Sporting News ranks the best at 2nd base:
Mark Prior might miss a start or two at the beginning of the season, but that's the extent of it.
