  1. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 21, 2017 -> 10:17 AM) With everything that has happened since 9-11 in this country, if your child was Muslim...and you got the phone call that an illegal immigrant was responsible, your first thought wouldn't be that there had to be some anti-Islam feelings behind it? So an illegal mexican hates Muslims? I thought that was just us islamophobic Americans? Big history of so-calledMuslim hate crimes being hoaxes. not saying it doesn't happen, it does. but ffs, just because a muslim is a victim of a crime doesn't mean they were singled out because they were muslim. Statistically they will be robbed, beaten, involved in crashes and otherwise be victim of crimes and accidents just like everyone else. The supposed 'wave' of Islam backlash has never happened, not even after 9-11.
  2. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 21, 2017 -> 05:06 AM) https://www.yahoo.com/news/teens-slaying-le...-081230433.html Teen's slaying leaves doubt about motive in Muslim community... Nice to know that Ibrahim is a mind reader. There is nobody more biased in this whole situation than him. No hate crime, no fund raising for him.
  3. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 19, 2017 -> 05:10 PM) http://jaybookman.blog.myajc.com/2017/06/1...-to-handel-gop/ Argument that Handel winning GA-6 would actually be a loss for GOP in terms of avoiding desperately needed changes. The race means nothing. it isn't a referendum on Trump or Democrats. The people down there are probably sick to death of seeing all the ads and campaigning, especially from people outside the district (like pajama boy himself!) and state. I would guess turnout will be low as people will have tuned out and just want it over, but we'll see. i find it funny the writer is now complaining about "On the other hand, though, this notion that the biggest threat to the voters of the 6th District are their fellow Americans helps to explain a lot of what is wrong with this country at the moment" At this moment? That is what Democrats have been preaching for the last 9 years. Guess it is only a problem when it is used against them. Seriously, how is he allowed to run without living in the district?
  4. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 15, 2017 -> 10:04 PM) The problem is 95% of the people in the country are not so well trained or accurate...panicking when you have a gun in your hands, we occasionally hear about experienced police officers doing that when feeling threatened. In the end, the gun control battle will be fought by the mothers of this country. http://www.cnn.com/2017/06/15/us/escaped-g...ured/index.html Homeowners with guns capture escaped Georgia inmates I laugh at your thought that police in general are 'well trained'. Most departments have zero range qualifications after the first year and they certainly don't have the budget to allow cops to train on the city's dime. You are again assuming a scene where everyone has a gun and will panic. yes, you might. And not everyone has a gun. if you think you can't handle one, don't get one. Practice if you do. I was nervous as hell in my one time having to defend myself with arms, but still ready to do so.
  5. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 15, 2017 -> 05:30 PM) http://www.cnn.com/2017/06/15/politics/con...pons/index.html Meanwhile, GOP doubling down on gun control with their "good guy with a gun" scenario that usually works much better in the movies where lots of bystanders don't get killed. I'd hate to imagine if Rand Paul's "it would have been a bloodbath" scenario came to pass...everyone in the US would have been allowed the right to carry a gun everywhere they went beginning next week after a law was quickly jammed through. Well it was a 'good guy with a gun' that saved them, so why not? One of the members stated that if it wasn't for the one guy standing up and shooting back, he would have walked around the dugout wall and shot them all. Would you rather they all be dead to satisfy your anti-gun stance? You always imagine a scene where everyone whips out a gun and goes to shooting, but that doesn't happen. You don't need everyone, just a few. My gun is to protect ME. I have no desire to be hero-on-the-spot, I am not rushing to go shoot the bad guy, but if he is trying to shoot me, I will shoot back. Assuming I am not in a gun free zone, that is.
  6. Get the hell out of Illinois and start my own animal shelter. Although it would probably end up more like my own huge animal house...
  7. Probably a little late to screw the idiots involved with this, but a step in the right direction? http://www.wxyz.com/news/local-news/invest...ho-commit-fraud
  8. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 14, 2017 -> 10:16 AM) Your response to this: Donald Trump Suggests ‘Second Amendment People’ Could Act Against Hillary Clinton https://www.nytimes.com/2016/08/10/us/polit...ry-clinton.html Sioux Center, Iowa (CNN)Donald Trump boasted Saturday that support for his presidential campaign would not decline even if he shot someone in the middle of a crowded street. "I could stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot somebody and I wouldn't lose voters," Trump said at a campaign rally here. After the event, Trump declined to answer when asked by CNN to clarify his comments. You forgot to add " and appoints judges who favor stricter gun control measures."
  9. QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Jun 14, 2017 -> 10:12 AM) Tim Kaine says Democrats need to oppose Trump, so Democrats own a guy shooting at Congressmen at a baseball game? yes. Read my post a few up from yours again. Live by your own rules. (not you personally) Guilty by association.
  10. QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 14, 2017 -> 10:07 AM) I'm surprised it took Alpha so long. I'm working. And the 'let's just wait and see' I am seeing here so far is just sickening, because you know if it were the Dem team that got shot the speculation would be 20 pages already.
  11. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 14, 2017 -> 10:05 AM) I'll bet a million dollars that's not from today...it is from the idea that everyone needs to participate and have their voices heard, protest, Kaine is not speaking literally. Probably during the general election campaign or just after Nov. 8. Or what about Trump saying everyone in the audience should exercise their Second Amendment rights on Hillary last year? Never said nor implied it was from today. But I recall not long ago when talk even tamer than that was blamed for Giffords shooting. At least until it turned out he was a Dem too. Dems talk up violent protest, tacitly endorse the violence as long as it is against the 'other side', cheer for convicted terrorists in parades and have them as advisors and friends. You don't have to ORDER people to do that, they will do what you want to please the masters. Dems own this.
  12. https://www.facebook.com/jthodgkinson Seems quite the Democrat follower and perhaps a BernieBro, at least according to his Facebook page. And now a bunch of people are lambasting him on his own page. Wonder how ling until it is taken down.
  13. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 12, 2017 -> 10:37 AM) http://www.salon.com/2017/06/09/accused-po...right-rhetoric/ Christian’s court appearances have been marked by much shouting by him, and much of what he’s saying sounds like he’s directly channeling the talking points promulgated by groups like the Proud Boys, the Oath Keepers, Patriot Prayer and fans of Kyle Chapman, known to his followers as “Based Stickman.” During a court appearance on Wednesday, Christian started ranting about how he’s “not guilty of anything but defending myself against violent aggression by Micah Fletcher,” the lone survivor among the three men Christian allegedly stabbed after they intervened during his racist tirade against two women on the train. At his arraignment last week, Christian yelled, “Get out if you don’t like free speech!” and “Death to antifa!” (That’s an apparent reference to the left-wing street protesters who call their movement “antifa” for antifascist.) These outbursts directly echo the top three claims chewed over obsessively by the burgeoning movement of hard-line Donald Trump supporters who are pushing for street protests that often end in violence: 1. Their free speech rights are somehow being suppressed by leftists. 2. They are in constant physical danger from leftists and need to resort to physical violence in self-defense. 3. Antifa protesters — a group of self-styled radicals who embrace a black-clothes-and-bandanas aesthetic — are a serious threat that must be met with suppressive violence. As I’ve previously reported for Salon, these talking points are a transparent fig leaf for the real agenda of this loose coalition of hard-right types, who are advancing an authoritarian agenda and intimidating the Trump resistance with a show of violence. So instead of directly defending racist rhetoric like that advanced by Richard Spencer, Milo Yiannopoulos, Charles Murray or Ann Coulter, many of these alt-right types will instead claim to be defending the free speech rights of racist provocateurs, even if in many cases they do so by heckling or attacking leftists exercising their own free speech rights. Similarly, the claims to “self-defense” are offered in bad faith, as even a casual perusal of alt-right sites demonstrates a strong yearning for violence and the hope that liberals will do something, no matter how slight, that can be used as justification for cracking skulls in. That’s why there’s this obsession with antifa protesters, as their radicalism and similarly discomfiting willingness to push beyond protest or civil disobedience into vandalism and violence offers the alt-right a convenient excuse He doesn't give an actual reason for being a Sanders supporter in terms of platform issues, is just virulently anti Hillary. Like I said, f*cked in the head with 'kind words' for everyone.
  14. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 10, 2017 -> 02:37 PM) This guy was a Bernie Bro? Look again. http://www.cnn.com/2017/05/26/us/portland-...bing/index.html The GOP (party nominating apparatus) that failed http://www.politico.com/magazine/story/201...t-failed-215243 Just look at his facebook comments. At best you can say he hates everybody and/or is just f*cked int he head . Seems he has kind words for everyone. Still no alt-right. http://dailycaller.com/2017/05/28/portland...ders-supporter/
  15. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 8, 2017 -> 05:01 PM) http://www.smh.com.au/federal-politics/pol...608-gwmx7k.html As for the last part of your post, just go to "controversies" on his Wikipedia page. And attempting to beat someone up and film it, let's just say the alt right has been killing people (or at least willing to do so) when they're unhinged, with the most recent example being Portland, he was a BernieBro, not alt-right. Nice try
  16. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 8, 2017 -> 01:31 PM) Why do you guys always say what dems are horrible, destroying everything, yet justify poor behavior because previously a dem did it somewhere? If you are so superior, acting like a dem shouldn't be tolerated, and certainly shouldn't be brought up as a free pass. he asked if it ever happened. Talking over people you are asking questions of is poor behavior.
  17. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 7, 2017 -> 08:08 PM) https://www.yahoo.com/news/gop-senator-admo...--politics.html In recent Senate history, when have TWO MEN ever been admonished like this (by members of the opposing party) for speaking out in a hearing...the examples of Liz Warren and now Kamala Harris by McCain? The GOP is just giving the Dems the 2018/2020 elections with all these talking points. The problem is there's too many to put into one 30 second ad, starting with the Gianforte attack on reporters in MT, Eric Trump saying Dems "aren't people" and Handel in GA-6 saying she doesn't support a livable wage. Do you disagree that she needed to STFU and let the guy answer the question she asked? http://www.slate.com/articles/news_and_pol...nna_finish.html Joe being told to shut up https://www.yahoo.com/news/california-senat...-001638791.html Dems on a state level doing the same to a woman.
  18. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jun 4, 2017 -> 12:23 PM) Trump deliberately taking the mayor of London's comments out of context to insult him is just so pathetic and petty. At least 7 dead and 48 wounded in terror attack and Mayor of London says there is "no reason to be alarmed! Not sure what context you are looking for. He was asked about Londoners who were afraid to go out, and he said police presence would be amped up for a few days and there was no reason to be alarmed. Funny how the muslim mayor refused to mention the motivations of the attackers at all. They only screamed the usual before knifing people, so we may never know. But all of this petty sniping aside, what are they going to do about it now? Will this turn out to be a case where they knew of the attacker beforehand and yet did nothing? Was he known or unknown to security services? I figure at least a week until we get something as the story will change every day for a while.
  19. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 3, 2017 -> 04:12 PM) WASHINGTON — The Government Accountability Office said Thursday that it could not complete an audit of the federal government, pointing to serious problems with the Department of Defense. Along with the Pentagon, the GAO cited the Department of Homeland Security as having problems so significant that it was impossible for investigators to audit it. The DHS got a qualified audit for fiscal year 2012, and is seeking an unqualified audit for 2013. The report released by the GAO on Friday indicates serious accounting problems at two of the largest government agencies: the Pentagon and the Department of Homeland Security. The Department of Defense has a net cost of $799.1 billion to the federal budget, while the Department of Homeland Security has a net cost of $48.7 billion. “The U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) cannot render an opinion on the 2012 consolidated financial statements of the federal government because of widespread material internal control weaknesses, significant uncertainties, and other limitations,” the agency said. “As was the case in 2011, the main obstacles to a GAO opinion on the accrual-based consolidated financial statements were: Serious financial management problems at the Department of Defense (DOD) that made its financial statements unauditable. The federal government’s inability to adequately account for and reconcile intragovernmental activity and balances between federal agencies. The federal government’s ineffective process for preparing the consolidated financial statements." http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/01/18/g..._n_2507097.html Mountains versus mole hills. Yet Trump wants a $64 billion increase, McCain argues $640 billion is more appropriate. So it's ONLY $100 billion, no big deal. Got it. You are absurd.
  20. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 3, 2017 -> 11:57 AM) These cities and states are vowing to stick to Paris accord The governors of California, New York and Washington State created the United States Climate Alliance to convene states upholding the Paris Agreement. States Governors who have proclaimed their continued support for the accord include: Charlie Baker, Massachusetts. (Republican in bigly Democratic state) Jerry Brown, California Kate Brown, Oregon Andrew Cuomo, New York John Hickenlooper, Colorado David Y. Ige, Hawaii Jay Inslee, Washington Dannel P. Malloy, Connecticut Terry McAuliffe, Virginia Gina M. Raimondo, Rhode Island "California will resist this misguided and insane course of action," Brown said in a prepared statement. Cities A group of mayors said they "will adopt, honor, and uphold the commitments to the goals enshrined in the Paris Agreement." The group includes: Mayor Martin J. Walsh, Boston Bill de Blasio, New York City Rahm Emanuel, Chicago Eric Garcetti, Los Angeles Jim Kenney, Philadelphia Mitch Landrieu, New Orleans Ed Murray, Seattle Sylvester Turner, Houston READ THE FULL LIST, LETTER HERE http://www.4029tv.com/article/these-cities...-accord/9966980 Awesome! See, they didn't need to sign any piece of paper to do good. They didn't have to send $7 billion to foreign entities to waste to do good. keep it up. But when the electric bills triple and you have occasional power blackouts, just remember, your choice.
  21. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 3, 2017 -> 10:28 AM) The point of the $3 billion (out of $10 total) the US has contributed isn't the biggest issue here... Oh but it IS the point. If the framework was not fitted with enforcement mechanisms, what good is it? We can still do things as a country without having to commit to sending boatloads of money for people to steal. Fracking reduces our need for coal. The gas it also produces is cleaner than other sources. Pure capitalism has helped to clean things up some already. Where did that $3 billion go? For $3 billion we can adopt an African country and turn around their whole power grid, dig new wells and teach sustainable farming. but instead it will find its way into luxury travel and food for whatever directors will be in charge of this clusterf***, money will be skimmed off at every transaction, the countries in need of help will have various leaders either stealing money directly or by having 'friends' get lucrative contracts for stuff they don't deliver. It's always about the money.
