  3. Wow, now how huge is that Everett double now!!
  4. Politte in. Then it's Hermy time? or Shingo?
  5. Might as well as had Contreras hit. It would have been the same result.
  6. I really hope Iguchi pinch hits next inning. Maybe he repeat what he did against Texas.
  7. QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ May 21, 2005 -> 01:07 PM) I can't wait until their closer comes in. Who is their closer today?
  8. Only 65 pitches through 6 innings? Now that is great. However you can guarantee The Count will not pick up a bat for the rest of the day.
  9. QUOTE(fathom @ May 21, 2005 -> 12:52 PM) Another great AB by AJP. He's really swinging the bat well right now. You can tell he wants to kick the s*** out of Zambrano. Zambrano's up next. Maybe he'l say s*** to him from behind the plate.
  10. Did my jinx work or what? Way to go Paulie.
  11. Let me be the first to jinx El Gordo. A No Hitter so far, wow!!

  13. This is significant, since the Sox play the Halos 7 times in the next two weeks. Hope he's okay though. He's one of my favorite players. http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/article...t=.jsp&c_id=mlb
  14. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ May 20, 2005 -> 05:33 PM) Since we're being hypothetic here: Foremost, before any discussion of McCarthy's availability, Guillen should shoulder blame if Hernandez is injured. Several starts this season Hernandez's pitch count has exceeded 115 pitches. I've questioned these decisions before due to our bullpen depth. His arm is more important in September/October than April Depending on our situation Sunday, and Hernandez true health status, perhaps Guillen can start Cotts. Honestly, the possibility of McCarthy's promotion doesn't bother me. Whether he's rocked or pitches a gem, his confidence should remain the same. If not, how can one adopt to life in the majors? Whether his line is 7IP, 0ER, 8K's or 1.3 IP, 6ER, 1K, McCarthy must know this is his first start. The organization believes in him. Anyways, if he can't adapt to pitching now--midseason, how will he fare in the playoff atmospher of late season baseball? Arbirtation concerns shouldn't matter to an organization with a payroll such as ours. If Hernandez misses one start, no need to promote McCarthy. If Hernandez misses an extended period of time, our best choice is for Brandon to go north. I hope they're not jumping the gun and the slightest sign of an injury they bring him up. But maybe Cotts' arm isn't stretched out enough to last too many innings and with it being in a NL park, that would be using a lot of relievers and PHs. We'll just have to wait and see what happens. It was only a matter of time for the Duke's annual injury. :headshake
  15. BMac was pulled from his start tonight in place of Arnie Munoz. For more info look under the "McCarthy Idea" thread. Stay tuned.
  16. QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 20, 2005 -> 04:56 PM) That could turn out bad. A huge crowd in a big game in an opposing ballpark for your major league debut, if he got roughed up he could implode. I don't care how strong he is mentally. Even though it wasn't his MLB debut, Felix Diaz filled in nicely in an emergency start last year against the Cubs. Even beating Zambrano. But, this is the first I've heard about McCarthy coming up. To answer the question on who the long reliever is, right now it's Neal Cotts. Who's actually been not that bad....
  17. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ May 20, 2005 -> 03:07 PM) I'm pretty sure that Zambrano is going to peg someone tomorrow, but that might work in our favor with Contreras on the mound. The Count is a big SOB and he can throw a baseball pretty hard. If one of our guys gets hit, the Cubs might be afraid of some retaliation. Timid Cubs are a good thing. I'm sure it'll be Rowand. But it'd be funny if it's Everett. I'd love to see that guy pissed off.
  18. Maybe AJ can even say some kind words to him when Fat Boy steps to the plate, too.
  19. :fthecubs :fthecubs :fthecubs Boy, I love that Emoticon!!! Bring it on Crazy-Ass Zambrano. What's the over/under on what inning he starts acting like a 6-year old?
  20. :fthecubs :fthecubs :fthecubs :fthecubs :fthecubs :fthecubs And to all you Cubs fans: :finger
  21. :fthecubs :fthecubs :fthecubs :fthecubs :fthecubs :fthecubs Thank You Cubs for our 30th win!!!!
  22. QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ May 20, 2005 -> 02:36 PM) Id rather save Hermy if we can. I'd save him to. Maybe bring on Shingo. If he struggles, bring on Hermy.
