No Crede!!! One less automatic out in the lineup!! -
If he's called up and goes 2-for-40 or so, then everyone will be saying he was called up too early or he's the second coming of Joe Borchard. So unless an injury occurs, we won't be seeing him until September. No earlier.

QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ May 27, 2005 -> 03:27 PM) It may be just that time to get our Cubs injury translator out. Let's look at the possble outcomes: Bruised Elbow, may miss a start = Tommy John Surgery, out a year and a half Muscle Tighness, may miss a start = Torn Rotator Cuff, Career in doubt Inflamation, will miss 2 or 3 starts = Reconstructive sugery, out for the year Broken arm, out 2-3 months = Death

GAME THREAD 5-27-2005 SOX VS RANGERS

Texas has been killing the ball of late. Granted, they haven't been facing top-notch pitching, but they do have have some mashers in the lineup. This will be a big test for BMac. This ain't no Cub lineup he'll be facing - Derek Lee and 8 other guys. -
What exactly is Timo Perez' purpose on this team?

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ May 26, 2005 -> 10:49 PM) he knows japanese... Shingo's & Iguchi's interpreters speak Japanese. You don't see them suiting up. They may be better than Timo, though. -
Manuel may be in the running to try and right the ship. Good luck, my friend.

QUOTE(Al Lopez's Ghost @ May 26, 2005 -> 04:26 PM) Good old number 45 - before Michael Jordan got it. Also, first in a long line of right fielders of the '90's: Ellis Burke, Mike Devereaux, Lyle Mouton, maybe Darrin Jackson, ad nauseam. Don't forget Jeff Abbott, Shawn Abner and good 'ole Danny Tartabull - all former wearers of #45.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ May 26, 2005 -> 04:18 PM) Who is Mike Huff? Charlie Huff's brother

Will there be subtitles?

QUOTE(SoIL @ May 26, 2005 -> 03:26 PM) Where is this from? The writer appears to be a Cub fan. http://www.suntimes.com/output/sports/cst-spt-deluca26.html I don't understand how he appears to be a Cub fan.

Kinda long. But it shows just how important Pods has meant to the club this year.

QUOTE(chi-guy2 @ May 26, 2005 -> 02:58 PM) i also want eric chavez Who wouldn't?

I doubt the Marlins will be trading him. They're in first place and they'll have to be blown away by a package. He just signed a big contract with them, too. Unless they plan on moving Cabrera back to third, I don't think he's going anywhere.
-
Himes may have been a horrible GM, but he gave us the Big Hurt and Ventura.
-
Didn't Larry Himes trade Sosa?
-
KW is the more riskier and cutthroat GM. He goes for it no matter what. What have the prospect we've given up amounted to, besides Jeremy Reed? Ron Schueler passed on Roger Clemens and brought in injured players i.e. Ellis Burks, Bo Jackson, Julio Franco, Darrin Jackson and fortunately, became healthy again to help the Sox. However, in the years Schueler was GM, I only remember him acquiring re-enforcements twice (Tim Belcher in 1993) and then seven years later in 2000 (Charles Johnson.) And how can we forget the White Flag of 1997, but that had a lot to do with Reinsdorf. As for KW, if he isn't restocking the farm system, he's making mid-season acquisitions. Although, with Schueler, we won the division twice. With KW none. But I like KW better.

QUOTE(Sirotka33 @ May 26, 2005 -> 12:25 PM) Mike Huff???? Is that really the best they could do? I'm not the one hiring these guys. Maybe he lives in Texas.
-
Black Jack will only be in for tonight. Then Mike Huff joins DJ for the Texas series.
-
QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ May 26, 2005 -> 09:42 AM) Marte shouldn't throw tonight, 2 innings on Tues and coming in last night for two batters should earn him a day off. It's a hard week for him with the Angels being so lefty and then Texas having Delluci, Blalock, and tex if you want to turn him around. Teams like Oakland and Anaheim make you wish you had two lefties. I don't count cotts because he's not a guy who gets lefties out. Walker will have to blow the cobwebs off his arm against Texas. Even though I'll cringe everytime he throws the ball.
-
Looking forward to hearing Black Jack in the booth. Did you know yesterday was the first time we won back-to-back games in Anaheim since 1998? :puke Time to make it 3 in a row. Lackey has been up and down all season.
-
This is Donn Pall's last game. Black Jack will be in the booth tomorrow night. Mike Huff Will be with DJ in Texas. The Pope was on the Score and said this. I have to hand it Donn Pall, he's done a decent job since his first game.
-
IMO, I think that El Duque will be restricted to shorter outings (maybe 5, 6 innings.) Then BMac can take over after him. That way he pitches every fifth day.
