  1. I guess tomorrow will be a good time to go to the Taste of Chicago. Don't want to waste my time watching a Cubs blowout
  2. Cub fans really piss me off. Anything hit the outfield, and they cheer like it's a home run. Watch the outfielder, dumbasses :fyou
  3. I'm working until 4:00 (but really 3:00) but I just have one thing to say........ :fthecubs :fthecubs :fthecubs :fthecubs :fthecubs :fthecubs
  4. BAD NEWS.....Gas Can Politte is in the bullpen. Game over.
  5. Just like that. Rauch and Jackson have about the same ERA now!!
  6. David Ortiz with a 2-run single. Bottom of the 7th in Boston. Twins & Red Sox tied at 3.
  7. Hey, does anyone live in Evanston/Skokie and have RCN? I can't find FSN+ on my dial? I may have to rely on you guys for the PBP.
  8. anyone know when Game 2 starts? Is it still 7:05?
  9. Just wondering since a 15-0 blowout is so common. That should be in teal. I usually wait until the second half of the show anyway, since that's when they show the Sox highlights. Unless we're playing the Yankees or Red Sox. Just wondering, because unless they we're on in the first segment, which I highly doubt, I don't think they showed any highlights of our Sox last night. What does ESPN have against us?
  10. Can't we trade Jose for a number 5 pitcher pretty please You're forgetting about his $5 mil price tag. I wish it were that easy. Orlando Cabrera anyone?
  11. What happens when Jose comes back next week? I know the obvious answer is Kelly Dransfeldt goes back to Charlotte. But why not Harris? How many dribblers to the pitcher does it take to convince everyone he's not cut out for this? I don't think I've ever seem him hit a ball to the warning track this year. My cat has more power than him! Dransfeldt has had some clutch hits this past week and can play all infield positions. What do you guys think?
  12. From Thursday's paper... Error #1 [schoeneweis hadn't won as a starter since June 20, 2002, when he pitched for the St. Louis Cardinals.] I thought we acquired him from the Angels? Error #2 [Five have played for the team: manager Ozzie Guillen, bench coach Harold Baines, hitting coach Greg Walker, first-base coach Rafael Santana and third-base coach Joey Cora.] When did Rafael Santana play for the Sox? Not to mention that they think Esteban Loaiza is a left-hander. Do they need a fact checker or do they just don't care. Anyone else notice this?
  13. What's All the fuss with our bullpen? With the exception of Koch, Takatsu and Opening Day, our bullpen has yet to give up any runs. (I think) I don't see why people see it as a weak link. In fact, it may even get better when, or if, Wunsch gets back. Which leads me to this...who goes when he comes back? And do you guys think Mike Jackson would make a good closer? I know he closed long ago for Cleveland back when they were good. Sorry for all the ramblings
  14. I have a very bad feeling about this game. Very bad.
  15. Gameday and the streaming radio are not in sync. The radio is like two pitches behind. Anyone else experience this?
  16. According to ESPN, Kelly Wunsch has been placed on the disabled list with an inflammed left teres minor muscle. I guess this means both Jon Adkins and Mike Jackson have made the team.
  17. From today Sun-Times: Painful decision for Guillen TUCSON, Ariz. -- Esteban Loaiza's sore neck proved to be a real pain for Jamie Burke. The White Sox all but set their roster Thursday, electing to start the season with 12 pitchers and informing Burke he will not make the major-league team to start the season. After the game against the Colorado Rockies, manager Ozzie Guillen cited Loaiza's minor injury as the deciding factor in going with a 12-man pitching staff. ''We're going to carry 12 pitchers,'' Guillen said. ''The simplest example right now [as to why] is Loaiza went down in the first inning.'' Loaiza, who pitched just one inning Thursday, still is expected to make his season-opening start Wednesday against the Kansas City Royals. More will be learned about his situation when he throws on the side this weekend, possibly Sunday when the team has a workout in Kansas City. The news for Neal Cotts was positive as the left-hander learned he will make the team and be the long man out of the bullpen. He offered the Sox the most versatility by also being able to start if Scott Schoeneweis stumbles again in his final spring start today, and being a lefty in the bullpen if Kelly Wunsch doesn't make the Opening Day roster. Guillen indicated that Wunsch has been bothered by nagging arm and back injuries, but also added: ''I don't know yet. It depends on how he feels. I can't put a kid [on the disabled list] if he's not hurt.'' Wunsch, who said he felt fine after his last outing Tuesday vs. the San Francisco Giants, is expected to pitch today. If he proves to be healthy and effective, the final roster spot then comes down to Mike Jackson and Jon Adkins. The Sox are expected to go with Jackson in that scenario since it isn't likely the 16-year veteran would accept a minor-league assignment. Adkins still has minor-league options. The decision to have 12 pitchers on the staff also seems logical with the offensive-minded New York Yankees on the schedule for seven of the first 15 games. Not only that, but the Sox will face the Yankees at New York next weekend with the back end of their rotation. Guillen said one of the most difficult things he ever has had to do in baseball was informing Burke that he would not make the team. ''Today I made one of the toughest decisions I ever made in baseball,'' Guillen said. ''Telling my family I'm not playing anymore, that was hard, but sending a kid down that should be here ... Burke did everything we asked him to do. He was a great man to have around and was a pretty good player.'' Burke's roster spot appeared to be a lock in recent days, especially in light of the fact that Jason Grilli said he was told the Sox would carry only 11 pitchers and Kelly Dransfeldt, reassigned last week, was informed the Sox would go with three catchers, according to Burke. Only a few hours before the Sox made their roster decision Thursday, Burke was trying to see things from all angles. ''I think it's a delicate thing,'' Burke said about putting together a roster. ''It doesn't bother me to wait, but I get antsy thinking about it. There's other things they're probably thinking about, too. I'm sure they don't want to make a decision and then all of a sudden change it, because you've seen that happen in this game. ''Obviously, I'd like to know, but it's happened before to me. I've been to the very last day, and that's when things happen. You just have to prepare yourself.'' The likely pitchers to make the Sox roster: Mark Buehrle, Loaiza, Jon Garland, Schoeneweis, Dan Wright, Billy Koch, Damaso Marte, Cliff Politte, Shingo Takatsu, Kelly Wunsch, Cotts and Jackson. The position players are Willie Harris, Jose Valentin, Juan Uribe, Paul Konerko, Frank Thomas, Joe Crede, Ross Gload, Miguel Olivo, Sandy Alomar Jr., Carlos Lee, Aaron Rowand, Timo Perez and Magglio Ordonez
  18. 1-0 Sox, bottom of the 1st.
  19. Top of 5th. Crede singles. Rowand on with an error by Durham. "error by Durham" doesn't that bring back memories?
  20. 3-2 White Sox. Double by Maggs drives in Willie. 2 run single by C-Lee drives in Valentin & Maggs.
  21. Just wanted to say "hi" to my fellow Sox fans. I've been an avid reader, now this is my first post. This forum is much better than whitesox.com. Looking forward to discussing many "White Sox Winners" this season.
