Mark Buehrle will hit a HR tonight, joining Zack Greinke, Fat Boy Sabathia and Jason Johnson as the only AL pitchers this year to do it. He has to 1-up his buddy Garland. Anyway, don't know much about this Stauffer guy, but I hope he's no Eaton or Peavy. But MB hasn't had a decision since May 18. Almost a month. Tonight's a good a night as ever to get #8.

I saw him. They even replayed his horrid sportscast. It's amazing how many shows said his catchphrase.

QUOTE(ScottPodRulez22 @ Jun 10, 2005 -> 03:26 PM) I like the idea of egging his house and spraying "You can put it on the bored" on his garage idea said early in this thread best. Id do it in a heartbeat. In regards to your avatar, maybe you can bring Big Bad Cliff with you.

Since I was born. It's in my family's blood. Both of my parents are South Side Irish. I had no other choice

Don't know why anyone would pick '00. Cal Eldred? Jim "out of the" Parque? I was still a youngster of 7 years-old in '83, so from what I remember, '93 was the best. Bere, Black Jack, Fernandez & Alvarez were awesome. However, this year is very comparable.

Thriller, Anyone? He'd come in with runners on and it's pretty much a gurantee that they'd be scoring. Also in no particular order: Koch, Ritchie, Danny Wright and Bobby Howry.

QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 10, 2005 -> 02:06 PM) ROTFLMAO!!! I swear I was just sitting here waiting for this... Obviously these guys weren't visitors of the Sox MLB board when Corg was being outed.. People figured out who Ncorgbl was?

He really fooled Closser on his pitches, too.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 9, 2005 -> 09:14 PM) It'll always be Robin, no matter who wears 23 as far as I am concerned. I agree. Hence, my screen name. I was just making a joke. I was pissed when Dye took #23. Do you know why Nossek took #23? So no player would wear it. It was his tribute to Robin.

This may explain his lack of effectiveness lately. I tell you, if we get the Damaso of '03 and the Shingo of '04 all that's left is Vizcaino.

Ducks and hides and I post this.... At the bottom is rotoworld take on Marte's early exit last night. Nothing really new as of now. Arnie Munoz? I hope we don't have to see Walk-er again. He really shut down Anaheim, didn't he?

Sox @ Padres 6/10/05 Game Thread

QUOTE(ScottPodRulez22 @ Jun 9, 2005 -> 02:20 PM) and you know how bad the sox have been agaist unfamiler pitchers these past few years Well, I think that's changing. For one thing, they handed Francis his first career loss at Coors. They have a whole different attitude this year, so it doesn't matter whether or not they've face a guy or not. They've faced Williams before when we was with Toronto and they beat Lawrence in '03 when the Padres went to Comiskey. Lawrence's line: 7.0 4 H 4 R 2 HR 3 BB 3 K They'll also be facing Claudio Vargas, Javier Vazquez & Russ Ortiz against the Diamondbacks. But first things first, let's get Jon his 10th and have be the first AL pitcher to do it!! SD been having problem's scoring runs at home, so let's hope it continues. -
We'll get our chance to boo his ass soon enough. http://www.detnews.com/2005/tigers/0506/09/tigs-210312.htm

If he was still with the Mariners or maybe the Rangers I'd be happy for him. It's hard to root for anything associated with the Yankees. This was the best part of his career:

As Artie Lange would say, "Wah Wah Wah" Nothing going to get handed to them. Idiots :headshake Suck it up.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 9, 2005 -> 01:33 PM) My 1993 home Robin Ventura without a name on the back, like they were originally. Me too!!! It probably doesn't fit me anymore. But if it does, it's now my Jermaine Dye jersey and before that it was my Joe Nossek jersey.
-
Hopefully this was what the bats needed-- to play at Coors. Now maybe some of the slumping hitters can get into a groove. Also, when was the last time two different Sox pitchers had a hit in the same ballgame? I don't have the answer, but I'm sure it's been a long time.

Thank you. -
SS2K5 RockRaines My words exactly. There's too much of what I call "immaturity" on this board. Instead of saying "you're an idiot" I just read the post and move on to the next one. I don't post as much as a lot of people, but there are some very intelligent people here. We're all Sox fans. I know we all can't get along, but we joined for a reason, to talk about them, to debate about them. But let's not act not act like fools in the process and bring down the site. That's why I left whitesox.com and came here.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jun 8, 2005 -> 09:01 PM) Far too many people don't think before they post and then wonder why Soxtalk is called a second-class board. Some people need to grow the f*** up, to put it bluntly. That's a nice way of putting it. All I want to do here is talk/read about the Sox. I'm tired of these immature tangents that these threads often go off on.

Great hitting and pitching by Cliff!! (Way to run the bases, too) This entire series was fun to watch, even it was against the lowly Rockies. Let's not go and get shutout now. With a PH HR by Frank to boot, this was by far the most fun I've had watching a game this year.
