Maybe it was just me....but the last thing I would call LeRoy Wells is hillarious. Annoying...waste of time...maybe but certainly not hillarious. If you notice when it shows him walking into his audition youcan see some windows in the background. It's dark outside so it was probably an audition late in the day. After a long day he probably provided some comic relief for the judges but for me the viewer all i could think was "I know they have time to fill between those wonderfully informative snipets of Ryan Seacrest around town but this guy is just plain stupid." and think.....that guy actually had a 'posse'. Wonder what thoughts are running around those guys heads......... juddling

Gee....being jealous of the new kid at an alternative school is like being jealous of the family with the new double-wide trailer in the park. juddling

I worked at a radio station in southern illinois for 6 years and my boss couldn't have been a bigger idiot. Among the many stories i could tell...this one was one of the best. Our morning guy tells our boss his brother is getting married and he's in the wedding so he needed a particular weekend off. Now this was 3 months in advance so the boss says "ok but remind me as it gets closer." My friend reminded my boss every week. and then every day the week of. (My friend asked for a saturday off) The thursday before my friend is called into the bosses office and told that he can't have the day off cause he doesn't have anyone to fill in for him." (We were evesdropping in the outer office cause we knew this was coming) my friend virtually exploded and said he was the best man and needed to be there. I walked in put something on the bosses desk he was waiting for, shot my friend a consoling look and as i was leaving i heard my boss ask (with a straight face) "Is there any chance your brother could postpone the wedding?? I tripped over my own feet leaving the office stunned he would say that much less think it. The natural reply was "What???????" My bosses response was "If it would help i could call your brother and explain it to him." My friend left before he killed him. I volenteered to work his shift since i figured i would end up doing it anyways. To this day i STILL can't believe my boss had said that. I know he's old and prone to such things but that was really bad. juddling

The Score's losing to ESPN AM 1000 in the ratings:
juddling replied to CSF's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
well...let's see here ..over on the Score we have Mike North who is one of the most polarizing radio guys in chicago...either you love him or you don't. Now he has a morning show on a sports talk station and he rarely discusses sports. Anne Maxfield has added nothing to the show. i was beginning to think they stayed off of sports to keep her in the conversation but even on every day stuff she has nothing to add. Boers and Bernsie can be entertaining at times. I like their Friday Fun segments and who you Crappin but that's it. Boers comes off like a bad Dave Letterman impersonator and Bernsie tries to show off that Duke education and tries too hard to use those big words he likes too much. Telender just puts me to sleep. Very monotone. Plus if i hear one more reference to his "playing days" in the NFL i'll puke. (did he even make it out of his first training camp???) Buffone is still entertaining as long as it's football otherwise he's still a 'yes'-man. Hood could be ok but i've noticed (at least when he was on at night) that when he wants to make a point..he takes 15 minutes. He can be very long-winded. not sure how he is in the afternoons. Murphy is the only one i can really listen to despite him being a Cub fan. At least when the Sox make a good move he will give them credit and will take the cubs to task when deserved. It's pretty sadwhen the local sports station loses to the national guys. especially by the wide margin they just lost to. juddling -
i believe also that Dusty was asked about Sosa being captain next year or would Dusty take the C off of him. Dusty's reply was something along the lines of " I didn't put that C there, i'm not going to be the one to remove it."" OMFG..(note to Dusty...you are the MANAGER of the Cubs..you can remove the C and/or make a batting order anyway you want). I remember when the Cubs got Baker..all i heard from my Cub fan neighbors was how he was the missing piece and was going to take them all the way. Gee...now even Cub fans are getting embarrassed by him...and god only knows what it takes to embarrass a Cub fan. juddling

Arrest Warrant Issued for David Terrell
juddling replied to shagar69's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
I think the question is going to be....who will he blame and what the excuse will be?? Personally, i think he needs to get some new "people" who might have a clue because if i remember correctly he blamed the expired license on the fact his people didn't take care of it. I guess it's time to fire his 'day-planner'. juddling -
Gee..and i was wondering why all my hick relatives were getting those goverment checks for $18.50. Man...jury duty is sweet. juddling

QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Jan 13, 2005 -> 02:25 PM) Well their better be some kind of a catching prospect thrown in to. I mean if god forbid something happened to AJ then that would leave us with Burke and that's it. I don't think any team with catching depth as pathetic as ours can afford to trade their backup catcher. Do the Dodgers have another backup they can give us? At this point can you name me ANY other back-up catcher in the AL. other than the Molina brothers in Anaheim or is that the (Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim)_ i can't think of another back-up catcher. I wouldn't call the Sox catching depth pathetic. i think it's about the same as every other team..unless you are willing to call them all pathetic. juddling

I ended up the country of Togo. I'm hoping it's a tropical island nation somewhere warm where starting a coup won't be hard. juddling --State wise i am Wyoming. Not sure if that's a good thing or not.

The first report or two i read said we are sending over $35 million or so in relief efforts. (bush quoted as saying it's just the beginning) I hardly thinnk $35 million is a 'token' amount of money on ANY scale. Just how much money would the US taxpayers have to send before it was 'acceptable' by other parts of the world???? I highly doubt there are people over in Egypt (for example) that are 'on the fence' deciding whether we are 'infidels' or good guys making up their minds based on the time or money involved in our response to this terrible crisis. Besides....wait till it's all done and we'll see who ends up with the majority of the relief effort. I got a $20 burning a hole in my pocket that i'm willing to bet anyone that we end up the biggest contributor in this effort. juddling

As Evil Monkey said, you would hear that regardless of what Bush did. For those that hate us, nothing would have been good enough.
-
What fuel did he add??? do you think at this time people over in the affected area are thinking to themselves "well....the US did pony up X amount of dollars but dammit...if Geogre Bush would have just spoken sooner it would all be better' ??? I don't think bush added any fuel to any fire other than the ones that people have on their torches ready to burn him for anything they can. juddling

As far as being a "fan" of certain players this is my final year for both crede and garland. I'm not sure what numbers they have to put up but if they have years like last year (or worse) then i'm willing to give up on them. then again....i always seemd to be willing to give Jim Parque another year so what the hell do i know????!!!!!!!! juddling

For the All-Star game in question, Frank was one of several players that left early. It was fairly common back then for the 'starters' to leave before the game was over.

After 61* and "3" i wonder what sports/number movie he will be in next???? Maybe with the right make-up and extensive workouts he could star in the TV movie about Barry Bonds titled *71 :fthecubs juddling

I thought about Maggs in Wrigley too. I don't think it will happen but then again....i think Maggs' knee won't bee the same again. so he won't either. juddling

Man would i love to see Clement on the south side. As my cub fan friend pointed out to me.....we just traded one of the biggest Cub killers(Lee) to a division rival...now let's take an under-appreciated pitcher from them as well. juddling :fthecubs :fthecubs :fthecubs :fthecubs

Now that the movie "3" has aired can we all agree that it is time for mr. Earnheart to go away. There was a time where i thought noone could be more annoying after death than Princess Diana but the intimidator is getting close. I follow NASCAR probably more than alot of people but not as rabidly as others. My friends who are fanatical about the sport are even sick of it all. It's funny but i seem to remember when Dale was alive people thought of him as the imtimidator but also thought he was a prick. When he died, all of a sudden he was this god-like person. Again...i am a racing fan but if i see one more soccer mom with a "3" decal on their Ford Aerostar i think i might succumb to severe road rage. (This could apply to all Princess di fans as well ) HE'S (SHE'S) DEAD!!!!!!!! MOVE ON!!!!!!!!!! Juddling

If anyone has read the book that Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is based on...it's a much darker book than the Gene Wilder movie made it seem. Not sure how the new movie will be but when asked about it Burton said he liked the book and it's darker aspects and was 'sickened' by the Gene Wilder version. That's why he wanted to remake the movie. Burton may take that a bit over the top but it remains to be seen. juddling

E-mailing back and forth with a friend of mine in Florida, he was saying that the D-Rays are looking for 1B help so maybe they would be interested in Paulie K. Huff would be a good addition in anyone's outfield but Hall is a waste of space. As a few others said....he's no better than what we have and i think he would be a small step down from Davis. Maybe with the emergence of there SS prospect last year (can't remember his name) maybe they would trade someone like Julio Lugo. He's a middle infielder who can play short or second and he's got a pretty good arm and got good range and speed. Bat isn't the greatest but he'll be better than what we had there last year. juddling **quick check Lugo hit .275 last year 41 doubles 4 triples, 7 HR 75 RBI and 21 stolen bases. OBP was .394**

I'm not sure of the numbers but i had C. Lee on my fantasy team so i paid extra attention and he seemed to come up with RISP ALOT. (again...i say seemed) . if he would have dialed it down and not swung himself out of his shoes even half the time he could have had an extra 20 RBI's at least. I remember going to a couple games where he had runners on 3rd with less than 2 outs and he swung so damn hard he nearly fell over and didn't get it out of the infield. juddling

Gee....people from New York think they are the center of the universe??? Big friggin' surprise. I have personally known only 5 or 6 people from NY and they have all had that attitude. If it isn't happening in NY then it isn't happening. This whining if of NO surprise. juddling
