  1. The most promising thing about Cotts last night is that he got the job done in a tight game. Cotts has been fine in garbage time, and shaky (to say the least) in most close games he's come in. His stats are surprisingly decent (except for his BB's), and I guess it's also a good sign that last night with Garcia leaving in the 6th, that's the equivalent of a long relief situation given most of our starting pitching so far.
  2. My theory, we've mostly played like ass in CHC, ANA, TEX, and today, and we've been 5-5 during that time. All-in-all therefore, there are still many more reasons to be happy than be b****ing. If this is a "rough" time in the season, well, everyone else is going to be a lot worse than 5-5 in their rough times. I'm optimistic that today's victory turned defeat turned victory spurs on a good homestand. Would I like to see another bat added to the roster, who wouldn't? Would I like to see Ozzie not screw over Mark and his deserved W today and nearly F the whole day up? Obviously. Was I ready to chuck something through the wall when Crede nearly popped up his SECOND sac bunt of the game? Damn right I was. But overall, this has been pretty cool so far. And if mods and admins are going to warn people largely based on their post count, well this had been one of the few message board sites where I'd never encountered such immature practices, I hope it remains so.
  3. QUOTE(farmteam @ May 30, 2005 -> 07:01 PM) I know. The fact that Timo and Crede are mentioned in the same sentence as something good...wow. And don't forget Willie starting the rally
  4. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ May 30, 2005 -> 06:57 PM) MY GOD. We so very much did not deserve to win that game. We deserved to lose this game like 8-1. We deserved to lose 4-3, we should've won 8-2, but in the end we found a way to win and hopefully get rolling this week at home. LOL @ Willie, Joe, Pods, and Timo being the clutch heros. Sucks big balls that Mark didn't get his deserved W today. Get ready for an Ozzie-tirade post game here. for Frank, he looked good today and we need him.
  5. f*** yeah, AROW, needed that one horribly. 3-0 and thank god we got a crooked number out of this
  6. A three game series with BMAC, JonG, and Mark pitching...
  7. I thought what Juan did was both quite funny, and very important. If the Cubs strike in the first, who knows how the rest of BMAC's day goes. What Juan did was very Ozzie-like (both as a player and coach), so before Paulie goes to the press with that type of quote, maybe he should stop off at Ozzie's office first. Oh well, no big deal either way, Paulie should've kept his mouth shut, and obviously Ozzie doesn't give a f*** how the media spins anything. I also think this is funny, "Uribe told Derrek Lee a lie." what is this Sunday School? and then, "as the big Cubs first baseman roared into second," LOL, how motherf***ing heroic. And to anyone who thinks the "mojo" shifted because of yesterday...fine, think that all you want.
  8. 45.2 IPs in 6 starts, so just short of 7 2/3 IP per outing for MB vs. Texas. That's very impressive (of course it's basically par for MB I guess. ) And 48 baserunners in those 45.2 IP....I luuuuuuuuv Mark. Prepare for a heaping helping of s*** on your way out Texas.
  9. That was a brilliant AB, Tadahito is amazing, he keeps doing more and more things you'd think he couldn't do.
  10. TADAHITO! Holy s***, I luuuuuv TADAHITO!!!!!!!!!
  11. OK boys, our bullpens been damn near heroic tonight, we can get this done, come on, one big inning.
  12. QUOTE(qwerty @ May 16, 2005 -> 10:26 PM) It's inexcuseable under any circumstances that albert pujols hits two balls on the ground in one game no matter what the count or pitch was. Look, I fully understand baseball is a very difficult game, which is why I attempt to refrain from going overboard with the "fire, bench, cut, etc." type junk, and I understand it's much easier to say "do whatever" vs. actually doing it. You're technically right in calling me on my hyperbole. However, Willie pulling the ball high in the air is highly aggrivating. PS - if I wanted to get in a pissing match, I'd do something childish like this... "You're comparing Willie f***ing scrub-ass Harris to the best hitter in baseball today. Not to mention just "hitting the ball on the f***ing ground" is a helluva a lot more f***ing broad then "pulling high flys balls to rightfield," so even that part of your argument doesn't pertain to what I'm attempting to say. And if, blah, blah, blah" Oh well, I got tired, which is all the more reason I hate pissing matches.
  13. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ May 16, 2005 -> 10:22 PM) Looked like a good pitch to swing at to me... He got a fastball, and just didn't do a good job hitting it -- or, hitting it hard, I should say. I'm not a guys who constantly dogs guys, and I'm not saying cut/bench/AAA/f*** Willie. But, it is inexcuseable under any circumstances except a SAC fly that Willie should pull two high flyballs to RF in the same game, no matter what the count or what pitch it was. No one can dispute that in any way.
  14. QUOTE(Brian @ May 16, 2005 -> 10:21 PM) Bullpen giving us a chance to tie this puppy up. damn right, if we somehow win this (another game we got no right winning), Viz and Politte deserve major props.
  15. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ May 16, 2005 -> 09:57 PM) Willie was here last year, so he's still stuck in the "homer or nothing" mentality when you're behind. Someone should punch him in the face any time he hits a fly ball that's not a sacrifice fly. Yeah, makes even more sense since Willie added so many of those homers too. :puke
  16. Willie should never hit two high fly balls to RF in a month, let alone one game, utterly incomphrensible. Nice shot AROW, come on Paulie, need a knock here.
  17. A big go-go rally here, back to back grounders to short for hits, come on, Paulie. BREAK THE f*** OUT RIGHT HERE!
  18. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ May 16, 2005 -> 09:10 PM) If I see Cocks or WALKer tonight I'll go crazy. I'm pretty sure we'll see just about everyone now
  19. I always want to fire a lot of people, bench some other people, and then send a lot more down to AAA.
  20. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ May 15, 2005 -> 06:11 PM) We're still 5 up on the Twins. That's not whats bothering me though. Whats bothering me is that we can't hit a goddamn thing. thanks, my bad, or whatever
  21. SOX LOSE :puke I'm normally optimistic, and I'm not worried, and I'm not f***ing or s***ting or damning or hating anyone, we're still 27-11 which is laughably brilliant, and we're still 4 gms up on the Twins. That being said however, I'm fed up with the KonerkoDye co-slump, and I'm fed up with Cotts. Nothing that can really be done about KonerkoDye, but unfortunately for Cotts, something can be done about him. If Walker continues to be anything equal to or better than decent, when Gload returns, Walker should stay. The end. (until tomorrow night, such is part of why baseball, in general, is great)
