D.J.s Home Run Call
QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Apr 19, 2005 -> 11:02 PM) Compared to what Hawk does it's bad. Just it something that is so bad, that it's good. I laughed on Saturday afternoon when I heard, "uh oh, uh oh.....way back!......bye-bye" Of course I think I was laughing at it, not because of it. And then PK's curtain call, I was laughing for the whole rest of the half inning.

We have a new pope!
QUOTE(Soxfest @ Apr 19, 2005 -> 01:51 PM) I thought this thread was for Pope Donn Pall replacement. You beat me too it, LOL. The way Cotts is botching every chance he gets, we might need Pope Donn Pall back. On subject though, I'm not Catholic (I'm Methodist) but I'm always interested in history, and religous history, and in those senses, the last couple weeks have been very interesting and moving to watch unfold. I don't know much specifically about Cardinal Ratzinger, but I heard he's was John Paul II's closest advisor, and IMHO that can't be anything but a very good sign. The sermon Cardinal Ratzinger delivered during the funeral was both artful and awesome no matter what one's specific faith. Hopefully those two signs point to a leader who, like John Paul, will be a brilliant spiritual example for Catholics and non-Catholics alike. I was somewhat hoping that Cardinal Arinze (sp?) from Nigeria would be the choice, because Africa needs a strong, moral, influential leader desperately right now. But regardless, God bless Benedict XVI.

And That's A White Sox Winner!!!!!!!
What happened to that Joe Crede support group or whatever? We need to have a fundraising drive or something, this could be the high point of the whole year. 2 RBI on the bomb, and at least 2 runs directly saved with his defense.

Does anybody else notice
QUOTE(Capn12 @ Apr 14, 2005 -> 11:11 PM) Notice our best hitting lineup isn't usually out there on that 3rd day. Thats the day Oz seems to like to put the reserves in for a start. Sweeps will come soon enough, as long as we win 2 out ofevery 3, you won't see me starting a: "FIRE/TRADE/RELEASE _________ (insert todays goat/ Joe Crede's name here) NOW before we lose another game!!" I think this is the biggest thing. I know Carl got hurt, but still, look at the top of the batting order we had at the end of last night's game, it was laughable. Harris Widger (in for Gload) Timo (in for Carl) It's as if Ozzie saw last night as the last 3 minutes of a 35 point basketball game and it's time to put in the last 5 guys on the bench. I see what he's trying to do, it makes sense to give guys a night off, and it makes sense to give everyone 4 ABs every now and then, but I think Ozzie overdid it a bit last night. As long as were winning series, I'm not complaining too much. I'm much more excited about this weekend at home than I am disappointed about last night. A load of s*** went wrong last night, and the Sox still had a shot going to the 9th, oh well.
