QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 10, 2005 -> 12:51 AM) Watching Crede this season, it amazes me that they've never tried a different loading mechanism for his swing. He's having a terrible time getting the bat through the zone. Why not try a leg kick or timing mechanism like Sosa used? Or we could let our pitchers hit and use the DH for Crede. :puke -

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 10, 2005 -> 12:44 AM) Anyone know Garland's pitch count? Maybe I'm not the only one, but I don't have much confidence in Politte coming into a tie game, I'd stick with Garland. He's made about two-three bad pitches today, I'd let him go one more... 77 -

Garland 4 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 48 pitches (32 strikes) Getting ahead of most hitters, just as impressive as the first 4 games so far. -

That was a truly perfect outcome. The 4th straight outstanding starting pitching performance, Dustin saves everyone else in the pen. The offense, while still not a huge night, played "AL-modified" small ball (a couple key bombs in there). Pods was the leadoff man Ozzie envisions (3/5 on on base, 2 SBs). Paulie, more great stuff in the clutch, as usual. Rowand, Harris, Everett all with good contributions too. Errorless defense, a definite rarity @ the Twinkies. -

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Apr 9, 2005 -> 01:16 AM) Sox go down in that half inning. Lohse only has 2 more pitches than Hernandez despite the fact he's pitched an extra inning, something to keep an eye on. Lohse has 37, El Duque with 35. especially with our pen situation -

Pretty classless of the Twins fans to have a s***hole of a stadium. -
- Game 2, we caught a miracle 9th inning. Game 3, they caught a miracle 9th inning, so we deserved to win 2 of 3 and that's what happened. - Baseball is a really funny game. - We have a good number of guys playing together for the first time (Pods, Iggy, AJ, JD, Pablo, Widger, Hermy, to some extent Contreras, The Duke, Vizcaino) but they are playing very hard and with energy (at least from watching on TV, so take it for what it's worth). This is what Ozzie preaches, so I'd think he's happy despite today's disaster. - The key to Ozzie-ball all year will be the top of the order getting on base and gaining momentum. In that motive, I agree with moving Rowand to the #3 spot. Carl's never been a #3 hitter anywhere else, so why start using him their when speed, contact, and versatility is what this team is banking on to score runs. This isn't a knock on Carl, just that one, Rowand seems more suited here, and two, with the year Rowand had last year. - Pods and Iggy must get on base a lot. - The starting pitchers were all impressive, but the next three games will tell us much more. - Hermanson looked good today and will be quietly important all year long. Not questioning Ozzie for bringing in Taguchi for the 9th, that was the right move, but in general, Hermanson seems like a solid addition to the pen. - I love baseball season.

Good first inning, good to build the confidence. The first 5 batters, even Pods and JD, were patient, seeing pitches well, and seemed just more relaxed. Come on Contreras, 1-2-3 and let's keep rolling.
