  1. QUOTE(Steff @ Apr 7, 2005 -> 03:15 PM) Because historically it's too cold, and usually raining here at night this time of the year. It's been like this forever.. Truth about the cold, which is further guarded against by the historic early season road schedule of the Sox. We usually play most of April on the road, this year is no different (after today we got 13 of next 18 on the road). About White Sox attendence (and I'm in Virginia so maybe I'm not qualified to speak on this ) but the biggest key to Sox attend. is, wait for it, wait for it...... WINNING! It is correct about Reinsdorf, and the park, and the Cubs, but winning is the biggest factor of them all. In the one instance of yesterday, yeah it's kinda poor that Pittsburgh and Detroit had larger crowds; but overall I'm very optimistic for the attendence question this season because of the team's new attitude, the team's chances in the division, and the stadium slowly getting better through the renovations. Sweep the Injuns today though, and I don't give a s*** if 8 people were in the park to see it.
  2. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Apr 6, 2005 -> 07:42 AM) I hate day games during the week. They're for flubby fans that dont have jobs to go to or lives to live. That being said........GO SOX!!!! I agree about during the week day games. With the execption of opening day and holidays, there should be as few as possible. I get to see the first part of the game today, extended lunch, but I set the VCR at home to catch the rest. God Bless MLB Extra Innings package! I think the offense goes nuts today. We need Pods and Iguchi to be getting on the paths early and often, that's what Ozzie is banking on to play his Ozzieball. Here's hoping those two are rolling today.
  3. Buerhle and Shingo, The DP in the 7th ended the only semi-threat the Indians got all day, completely brilliant performance.
  4. The Army of Northern Virginia or The Army of the Potomac
  5. Garland (7-5, 4.41) vs. Harden (3-5, 4.52) The Sox have Garland, Buehrle, Garcia, and Loaiza scheduled for the series. And The Unit for Monday vs. Texas??
  6. Juan having big games at the top of the order (either 1 or 2) always seems to be a major factor in any big offensive games the Sox have had. He's hitting .343 after tonight's game which is absurd after being a .240 type hitter in Colorado. I still like Jose, and I have been extremely pleased with how Willie has progressed already this season, but Uribe has got to be in the order 5 or 6 times a week. (Regardless of anyone being hurt) With his defensive versatility (2B, SS, even a little 3B) and offensive production, right now (not saying it will continue) Uribe deserves to be an all-star. Juan Uribe
  7. 31,000 f***ers saw the Twins get their ass handed to them tonight, hell yeah. Great job tonight boys. Wish I could've seen it (mlb.com tv was down for the whole league tonight). 3 or 4 of 4 is a hell of a series in the Twinkiedome, let's do it again tomorrow night. B)
  8. Jose, 3 for 3 that inning, that's probably it for Loaiza. What the hell, let's score a few more.
  9. Twinkie fans throwing Paulie's HR back on the field, YES! Love it! 9-3
  10. disgusting effort by Jose, come on Maggs, I want fireworks.
  11. Nice shank single by Willie, Fultz coming in for Lohse.
  12. I thought it was a classic Twins ducksnort when it left Stewart's bat. Stretch Time, time for a crooked number. B)
  13. Good outing by Scho, he deserves the W. 6.2 IP, 8 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 4 K, 100 pitches (67 strikes)
  14. Another quick inning by Scho. 68 pitches so far. Another Scho start where he fights through the first couple innings, with minimal damage, but then settles in and looks solid. 10 of the last 11 (and 11 in a row actually if you count the 4th as a 1-2-3 since Jones was CS)
  15. Rowand, opposite field, you can put it on the board!
  16. Great AB by Carlos, gotta get him in now.
  17. 6-4-3, and according to the Minnesota announcers, with Lew Ford in the lineup, "the Twins don't lose much on defense compared to Torii Hunter."
  18. kick save and an E6 by Guzman, good speed aboard!
  19. f*** yeah, Scho gets a break, LET's GO SOX!
  20. Just off the top of my head (not with any comparison to other AL players in the same positions) Magglio (as a sub) Loaiza Uribe (if, big if, he stays above .330-.340, as a sub) maybe Schoeneweis, but I doubt it (even if he continues doing what he's been doing, I doubt it)
  21. Never thought of it like that. However I had thought of this... Joe Jackson - .375 BA 8 games 32 ABs 5 runs 12 hits 3 2Bs 1 HRs 6 RBI 1 BB 2 Ks, 0 errors fielding leading the team in runs scored, hits, RBI, hit the only HR for the Sox in the WS
