  1. Not that I want Thome out of this lineup or anything. However, having Dye hitting 3rd is is genious and its what I've been waiting for since the World Series. I say if the offesne continue to succeed with JD hitting there, just have Thome hit 5th when he comes back. You have to give the man with the hot stick as many ABs as you can. Lets not forget he has more speed as well. JD FOR MVP BABY!!!!! Go Sox! Lets take 2 of 3 vs Minny!! Lets get on a roll!
  2. Can we say enought about Jon G?!? He is carrying us like Jose did down the stretch last season. Lets hope the other 4 can eventually catch on.
  3. I know we wanted to win 3 of 4 and all. However if we only win 2 (if we win today) Its better to win the last 2 than the first 2. It gives us momentum coming back home to face those pesky Twins. Come on JON G! Come on guys! It would be a HUGE win!! Maybe the biggest win all year. I know every game is important, but if we can win this, it could possibly signify a slump for Detroit and a hot streat for us!!
  4. Show up offense. Show up Freddy. Show up Ozzie and staff, Step up defense. Step up Pods, step up Thome. Step up White Sox your better than this. Most of us fans still believe. The question is, do you?
  5. Wild Card- IN AL Central- Out! It will be very difficult catching Detroit now. Unless we somehow win these next 2 games. But with Freddy going tommorow I highly doubt that will happen. I like our chances with Garland though. QUOTE(Texsox @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 03:50 AM) I am in and feeling good. Getting the rough stuff out of the way early and a big swing of momentum should occur in starting tomorrow God I hope you right!!!
  6. i said we must go 5-2 during this crucial road trip. hahaha what was i thinking after we split with KC?!? We'll be lucky to go 2-5. This sucks.
  7. f*** you you peice of s*** catcher! your cancer!! hmm how funny we get you in 2001 after we win the central in 2000 and miss the playoffs. In fact from 2001-2004 while we had you we missed the playoffs. In 2000 and 2005 we made the playoffs w/o him. You guys see a pattern? This guy is useless
  8. you gotta be kidding me!!! get his old asssss out of there!! he's terrible
  9. why the f*** is sandy hitting?!?!?!
  10. nice hair!! but more importatnly that traitor made a nice catch! damn WE GONE!
  11. nice job mcdoooogy. the only time of the game that i complement one of our players. i hope its not the last
  12. I hate Detroit but they obviously want it more than the White Sox do. We will be lucky to squeeze in via the wild card. im one run away from turning this damn game off.
  13. Thome you suck. go back to philly.
  14. i love sandy alomar! first he makes a dumb ass joke about AJ. second he's old and sucks. and third, he was supposed to be the 'savior' for the struggling pitching staff. haha what a joke. im sorry Widger wherever you are.
  15. Detroit sure is making a statement. Looks like the central is all theirs. At least the O's are beating the Twins.
  16. this is pathetic. uribe, anderson go home.
  17. QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Aug 22, 2006 -> 08:53 PM) Realistically no it is not. 16 (3 v. TB, KC and Sea and 7 v. Clev are all winnable no tipping the cap bulls***). We need to go 11-5 here. of the 21 remaining 15 are on the road so we go 7-8 in these and 4-2 at home = 11-10 Is 21-15 enough to make the playoffs????? That is cutting it really close! No matter what it is, it will come down to the final series vs Minny.
  18. If Javy, Buerhle, Jose and Freddy can just pitch quality starts 3/4 runs a game and the bulpen does there job. We still have a shot. The problem is this team is soo damn inconsistent its scary. You never know what the hell your going to get from your starters or your offense. And if Jose's back really does hurt, then its time for him to go on that 15 day DL. This will give BMac 3 starts and if he impresses us by the tim Jose comes back, throw Freddy or Javy into the pen.
  19. QUOTE(Drew @ Aug 22, 2006 -> 08:06 AM) Just for a game, just to see what happens, I'd like to see a lineup like this: 1. Cintron SS 2. Iguchi 2B 3. Dye RF 4. Konerko 1B 5. Thome DH 6. Pierzynski C 7. Mackowiak LF 8. Anderson CF 9. Crede 3B I like it. THis team needs alittle spark and a change in the lineup just may do that. I've been wanting Dye to hit 3rd since the World Series when he was very successful hitting there. Thome just doesn't have it right now. Let him bat 5th for awhile to re-collect himself. Not sooo sure about Crede hitting 9th but I understand your reasoning for it. However, do you want a guy having his career year to have limited AB's? I say: 1. Pods/ Ozuna LF 2. Gooch 2B 3. Dye RF 4. Konerko 1B 5. Thome DH 6. Crede 3B 7. AJ C 8. Uribe/Cintron SS 9. R. Mack/ Anderson CF
  20. QUOTE(cgaudin @ Aug 21, 2006 -> 05:01 PM) I think the Twins have much better pitching than the Sox. If they hit consistently, I'm sorry to say that they will likely overtake us. That bullpen of theirs is lights out. I hope Liriano doesn't come back till next season, or we're in trouble. Remember, our last 3 games are at Minnesota. dont remind me! This is why it is really important to beat the Tigers and catch them because the Twins have our number. If the Central is unreachable and the Tigers have it by that final weekend and we are tied for the wildcard with the Twins going into that series, I dont like our chances of reaching the playoffs. So yeah the Twins scare me.
  21. QUOTE(Beltin @ Aug 21, 2006 -> 10:12 PM) I am not sure you should put the A's or Angels in the top tier just yet. well i think the A's and Angels are better than the Mets and that alone says how weak the NL truly is.
  22. we should be #2 behind the Twins. Tigers should be #3, Yankes 4, Mets 5. The Red Sox appear to be dead in the water right now. IMO the NL has only 1 good team and thats the Mets. The AL has the Tigers, Sox, Twins, Yankees, Red Sox, A's, and Angels
  23. Great post Mr. Hibbard. However, its okay to be alittle critical of your team when they are making mistakes that can easily be avoided. I will truly remember the 2005 world series season for the rest of my life. However, I want more. I dont want it to be like the '85 Bears. That team should have won at least 3 super bowls. This team has the capability of building a dynasty, KW knows it, Ozzie knows it and I think we all know it. Last season was magic. This season is a struggle. BUT we still lead the wild card and are in decent shape to get back into the central race. We all have to remember that we are the team that the whole league is targeting. We have a HUGE bulls-eye on our back and the whole league is aiming for us to go down before anyone else. I'm not going to lie, as a fan even im not AS hungry to win it this year than I was last year. I also think the players feel that way also. But as we turn down this final stretch of the season as we try to bid for a playoff spot my hunger grows. I hope it grows for Ozzie and the players also. For guys like RMack, Cintron, Javy, Thome, Thorton, Riske, McDougal, and Alomar, they should be extra hungry and hopefully that will feed the other guys into wanting it just as bad as last year. The final stretch begins tonite, lets beat those Tigers again and again and cut that lead down even more. Yours Truly, GreatScott Keeping the faith alive!
