  1. QUOTE (DBAHO @ May 21, 2009 -> 01:07 PM) Sick of hearing that argument, there are plenty of pitchers who have changed leagues there and done just fine. If anything it would be going from PETCO to the Cell that would inflate Peavy's numbers, not changing leagues. Pet Co. to the cell is a major difference. Not to mention the fact that the guy has been having arm trouble and is owed more money than I can imagine the White Sox wanting to spend. You know they lost money last year and the chairman is none to happy. If the Sox get Peavy, I'll leave the boards forever. I'm so confident in this move not happenoing that I'll bow out gracefully and never log in again. I said. I'm all in!
  2. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ May 21, 2009 -> 12:48 PM) I wish my really bad year consisted of a 3.82 ERA while leading the NL in strikeouts. Bring that over to the AL and see how it pans out. The AL is far superior... Let's just hope they don't give up too much for a guy that can't save a season all by himself.
  3. The guy has had arm trouble and is owed a s*** ton of money and is having a really bad year. Pitching in a launching pad like the cell as opposed to the giannt crater that is Pet Co would make his numbers even worse. The guy would be smacked around in the AL. They aren't getting 06 Peavy. Horrible move if they make it.
  4. I had tickets for tonight, but unfortunately had to drop out due to a sink problem that the Mrs. won't get off my back about... And by sink I mean toilet and by problem, I mean it shattered over the weekend and the landlord is just now showing up with a replacement, but hey, that's Bridgeport politics for ya. Anyways, I can definetly see Danks rolling on all cylinders tonight, the kid is a great talent and he is gonig to be helping this team for year's to come. I'm expecting a laugher, I say Danks hold them under 5 hits. Prediction: Sox - 9 Twins - 0 With the weather this warm, the Twins should be happy to just hold our boys under double digits. That is a whole team of guys that just can't wait to get out of town. I mean, there's nothing left for them to do in the city except get their brains beat in.
  5. I just went and found that after posting this, but they had no info there either. The specific forum for ticket master/stub hub codes hasn't been posted to since November. I'm just hoping for some wednesday morning good humanitarian to be able to help me out. First night game of the year! I'm looking forward to the walk over.
  6. Looking to head to the game tonight and was looking for tickets online and noticed they had a spot to enter promo codes. So, I've been searching the net for about a half hour now and can't find anything about White Sox promo codes through ticket master. Just lots of links to 50% promo codes for Disney on Ice. I know that thursday is Score night and I think the code is The Score for 10 bucks off your ticket, but does anyone have any idea on what todays code is? I hope I'm not asking this in the wrong forum and if there is already a thread for this, apologize. Just looking for a lil help in trying to see a game for a few bucks cheaper. Thanks alot.
  7. QUOTE (SouthsideDon48 @ Apr 1, 2009 -> 11:16 PM) How about a Lamarr Hoyt Appreciation Night? First 5,000 fans get a little baggy filled with a mystery white substance. I actually had Lamarr Hoyt sign my crack pipe at the Sox convention back in 04. I also got my picture taking with MR. Zero. Great times!
  8. I'm actually liking the Sox chances alot this year. I think it's a solid team and don't understand the naysayers at all. No one in this division got better in the offseason. No one. If anything the Sox changing core dynamics by becoming a younger sleeker team will make them able to stand up to the rest of the midgets and prevail... As the tallest midget. In a playoff series, I love being able to throw Buehrle, Floyd, Danks. I think everything is gonna be ok White Sox 89-73 Twins 84-78 Indians 76- 86 Royals 76-86 Tigers 5-157
  9. QUOTE(hi8is @ Dec 22, 2007 -> 07:49 AM) and if im wrong, i will place any sig in my profile you chose. =D I'll start thinking of something witty now.
  10. Quentin is a huge pick up. The guy will single handedly change the offense last year. Kenny made a huge move here and is getting no credit whatsoever. I feel kinda glad going into this year seeing how big of sleepers the Sox are. I feel really good about this team being a 90-95 win team and they are jsut not getting any respect.
  11. He has big time strike out potential in my opinion. The guy looks lost out there. I'd rather have a man at 3rd than some child who looks like a fool against major league pitching more than half the time.
  12. That last inning was one of the hardest I've ever had to watch as a Sox fan. It hurt so bad to listen to the Hawk breakdown like that. I've never had so much respect for one broadcaster as I have right now for the Hawk. That man bleeds Black and White.
  13. Plays like that show exactly why Gonzalez is on this team. Great range. Alot of heart. I hope they keep this kid around for years to come.
  14. Contreras looks amazing out there. This is exactly the sort of lazy big game the Sox need. They can ride the wave from this win straight through TB and KC and then see what they can do to make this team better at the All Star break. I have a whole lot of faith in Ozzie and Kenny.
  15. QUOTE(Soxfest @ Jun 24, 2007 -> 06:17 PM) I cannot choose I only get WGN! The Sox just don't get any respect. Not even in their home town. It's rediculous. Sox fans should get their announcers for free when it's a home game. This is outrageous.
  16. QUOTE(Misplaced_Sox @ Jun 24, 2007 -> 04:17 PM) You know what is sadder? The Triple A team looks the same way. We need to build a hungry, pride feeling throughout this organization. I think any hope of that was gone when they showed Frank the door. This team doesn't stick with their own. Buehrle will be gone and that will be another home grown talent shown the door without even a thank you. It's sad really, but this orginization shows no loyalty to anyone. It's heartless and gutless and it's starting to show throughout the entire orginization.
  17. I went to sleep thinking the Sox would take this game 5-2, but I woke up about a half hour before game time and I just feel something. Just woke up and it felt like a laugher was on the way. I haven't felt so good about a Sox game in a long time. Should be fun to watch our boys beat up the bush baby the cubs have on the bump today. Sox-9 Cubs-0 Complete game shut out for Contreras... It might not be the brightest days ahead, but I definetly think we're going to have alot more fun before this season is over.
  18. 1. It's the Sox! Come on! They are fighters til the last drip of snot off a dogs ass. 2. The Twins made their come back last year and how bout that run the Indians pulled off in 05? It's not like it's never happened in this division before. The Indians will come back to earth and the Tigers just ain't that good. Once these bats wake up it's go time. 3. Ozzie. He won't let this continue. The man has too much heart. 4. Kenny Williams. I think the Sox will be more buyers than sellers come trade deadline. I think Jacque Jones would be a great pick up. He swings a good bat and he hates the Cubs. 5. Josh Fields. This kid looks great. Crede who? Forget about it. It's a new era of 3rd basemen for the Chicago White Sox. The Josh Fields era. It's like Ventura on crack. The kids gonna be great. 6. The fans. We have the best fans in baseball. Look how they've stood by this team. They are still selling out every night and the players recognize that. The team realizes this is about more than a pay check. It's about an entire community banding together. We all need this. We deserve this. 7. It can't get any worse. It has to get better eventually right? 8. Hawk Harrelson. How long before the Hawk sits this bunch down and really tears into them 1 by 1. Like men. It's time to stand up. The Hawk won't watch much more of this before he finally snaps. You can hear the meltdown coming. There's no way that won't fire this team up. 9. Mayor Daley. How long before the mayor sits this bunch down and really tears into them 1 by 1. Like men. It's time to stand up. The mayor won't watch much more of this before he finally snaps. You can feel the meltdown coming. There's no way that won't fire this team up. 10. The players. These are stand up guys who realize that they need to turn things around. A big win to keep from getting swept at home by the Cubs will really bring this group together. This is the kind of team bonding moment that hasn't been there since Rowand left. This is the White Sox last stand and I think they got alot more fighting left in them.
  19. First of all, I just wanna say ! Second of all, I think we all know how tomorrow goes. My prediction: Sox-5 Cub-2 Konerko with a 3 run bomb in the bottom of the 9th to win it.
  20. I'm sure A-Rod would never ever ever approve a trade to the White Sox. The South Side of Chicago is not a destination for anyone. I'm sure A-Rod has good enough taste to avoid the South Side.
  21. All I have to say about this season is that it was a huge surprise to me. I don't think any of us expected that. I know next year will be worse, but we'll always have last year. No matter what, this orginization can never take that from us. It is ours and always will be.
  22. I actually feel better about the White Sox playoffs chances today than I did yesterday. Now that the impossible wins are in the past, lets work on winning out the rest of these games and making the playoffs. Everyone knows just how dangerous of a team this can be if it can just make the post season. Lets all join in one big group hug and will them on to victories.
  23. I really think Sox fans need to stop thinking that Jermaine Dye will get any MVP consideration, he won't. Jeter will be MVP. Don't even tease yourself thinking the most boring player in the league who went into a slump when his team needed him the most will get any consideration, he won't. Who was the last MVP to come from a 3rd place team? A-Rod? Yeah, Dye is no A-Rod, he has no shot at MVP, just give it up. Also, in reality, the Sox have been out of the playoffs for awhile now. I think alot of you are just realizing it and alot of you are refusing to realize it, but they are done. Best 3rd place team in baseball though.
  24. In even after they've been officially eliminated. 2006 WORLD CHAMPS!!!
