  1. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 11:20 PM) People are always going to say that, but the fact is the Sox weren't willing to offer him a 3 year deal in the off-season, and they won't want to pay $5 million in 2007 for a SS that may not even start every day. If the Giants pay a little of his deal (which they probably won't) however........ Could you imagine what people will be saying two years down the road when vizwuel is hitting .220 and we didn't end up winning the world seris this year?
  2. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 11:07 PM) Any idea of who the big 1B FA's are this off-season?
  3. QUOTE(Ozzie Montana @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 10:48 PM) Id like to see Konerko and Frank dealt. Leave Everett as the DH. Ross Gload at first. Get another arm. Why waste Everetts at bats on the bench You waste everett's bat ont he bench because there is about a 0.01 chance konerko is traded.
  4. QUOTE(JimH @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 10:41 PM) What? You may want to edit. I take it back, now I see what you were saying. Again, so what. No one here, sitting in that dugout, would've put Neal Cotts in to face Manny Ramirez. It's easy to sit here and say you would have, but no one would. If he'd brought Cotts in and Cotts had bad control or given up the HR, Ozzie would be drilled all over Chicago. No way in hell am i saying that i would have put in cotts.. just would have not been vizcaino. I would have gone to my close ( who can throw three problems with ease) and go from there. I rather give myself the longest possible chance to win over hoping we squeak bya nd can use our ''closer'' in a save situation.
  5. QUOTE(JimH @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 10:34 PM) Ramirez was coming up so you want a righthander in there, no one can convince me that Neal Cotts should've been in there period. Ramirez is hitting .206 verse left handers this season while right handers are hitting .133 against him. Just saying.
  6. QUOTE(JimH @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 10:30 PM) Bad at bats for both Podsednik and Iguchi in the 9th inning, at least Everett gave a battle. They cannot throw games away like this. 3 errors and 3 unearned runs, that is horses***. Should be four errors too... :headshake
  7. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 10:26 PM) Don't get me started on the productive outs bulls***. There's no rule that states he can't get a hit when trying to get the runner over. It's not like we've had a lot of success knocking in the runner from 3rd, and less than 2 outs lately. LOL... thought you would like that.
  8. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 10:24 PM) Iguchi's batting average has been plummeting for a while now. ''Productive outs''... GAME.
  9. Two f***ing pitches down the middle everett.
  10. QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 10:21 PM) 2 Outs until meltdown on this board. I am telling myself i am gonna get off for the night but i think all the arguing will be amusing. 2-0 count here it is carl.
  11. QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 10:16 PM) I'd rather see Jenks out there than Viz. I dont understand why Oz would even bring him out in a close one. The red sox take alot of pitches and jenks is either hit or miss. If he is ''miss'' we are down by three plus runs.
  12. QUOTE(JimH @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 10:16 PM) Why would Cotts be in there to pitch to Manny Ramirez anyway? If he hits the HR vs. Cotts, Ozzie gets lynched. They need better players, or they need to play better than they did for these first 8 1/2 innings. I want a righthander pitching to Ramirez unless it's Billy Wagner as the closer. Righties cannot touch cotts. Everyone and their f***ing mother can hit meatball. I am not saying ozzie made a mistake because he didn't ( well actually anytime you put in meatball it is a mistake). I know his numbers looked good the last couple months but his peripherals have been awful the entire year.
  13. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 10:15 PM) Uribe has turned into a massive offensive liability. He's the weak link on this team right now. Both pierzynski and uribe has been brutal. They both had about two week stretches of hitting good then they turned into bonafide s***.
  14. It's great to have one right hander out of the bullpen ( not closer) that we can rely on. Get to f***ing work kenny williams.
  15. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 10:09 PM) Everyone's going to blame Crede, but that was a f***ing meatball served up by the master himself. I blame both... no way around it for either.
  16. We have now given the red sox five to six extra outs. We should lose this game ( and probally will).
  17. Ortiz has his worst at-bat against vizcaino of all people?
  18. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 09:44 PM) Can't blame Crede for that one. He doesn't have a Vince Carter like vertical. It did go right off of his glove. I am not blaming him... i am just saying if you give the red sox extra outs... you lose.
  19. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 09:40 PM) The decision to leave him in was fine. Buehrle didn't have much defense behind him tonight. Iguchi made two errors (three if you count the ball he couldn't quite get out of his mit on Damon), and Rowand dropped a ball in center (not counted as an error, but should've been). I thought Buehrle pitched damn well against a real good lineup. Crede could have had that ball too that went off his glove... buehrle pitched a very good game considering we spotted the red sox a man on base an inning.
  20. QUOTE(Sox Hustler @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 09:30 PM) Wouldn't the Rowand play be counted as a dropped ball error? I didn't see any of these plays. No error was given even though it was clearly an error. I don't give a s*** how far he had to run it was in his glove and popped the f*** out.
  21. Rowand has a ball pop out of his f***ing glove. Crede poorly times a ball at third that he had to jump for. Iguchi and his two errors... We are lucky we are not down by multiple runs.
  22. QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 09:18 PM) Well obviously this game is over... We lost and we're put in our place... makes you wonder if they will even bother showing up the rest of the year... I bet we mail it in from now on and we're under .500 at the end of Aug... Your not even amusing anymore...
