  1. QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Apr 5, 2005 -> 02:03 PM) Rivals does have Green rated much higher, so you have to give them credit for that. But otherwise they are pretty similar in their rankings after rechecking both lists. CJ Miles out of the top 25 is crazy for Rivals, and a few other problems. Its all speculation right now, who knows which one will be closer to being correct, we will see in 2-3 years. I like Rivals top 10 better than Scouts I will admit. Ya, this is true. When i saw green rated that low on scouts though it just pissed me off. But if you look closely they are pretty comparable after the top 25 or so.
  2. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Apr 5, 2005 -> 01:53 PM) The 1994 Draft was horrendous....easily one of the worst ever. Outside of Jason Kidd and Brian Grant, you just can't find any defense. Put it this way. How many players from this draft have appeared in the finals as starters, or are capable of starting for a championship squad? Players (in their prime) who could start on a championship squad marked in bold: Round 1 1 MIL Glenn Robinson Purdue 2 DAL Jason Kidd California 3 DET Grant Hill Duke 4 MIN Donyell Marshall Connecticut 5 WA1 Juwan Howard Michigan 6 PHI Sharone Wright Clemson 7 LAC Lamond Murray California 8 SAC Brian Grant Xavier (OH) 9 BOS Eric Montross North Carolina 10 LAL Eddie Jones Temple 11 SEA Carlos Rogers Tennessee State 12 MIA Khalid Reeves Arizona 13 DEN Jalen Rose Michigan 14 NJN Yinka Dare George Washington 15 IND Eric Piatkowski Nebraska 16 GSW Clifford Rozier Louisville 17 POR Aaron McKie Temple 18 MIL Eric Mobley Pittsburgh 19 DAL Tony Dumas Missouri-Kansas City 20 PHI B.J Tyler Texas 21 CHI Dickey Simpkins Providence 22 SAS Bill Curley Boston College 23 PHO Wesley Person Auburn 24 NYK Monty Williams Notre Dame 25 LAC Greg Minor Louisville 26 NYK Charlie Ward Florida State 27 ORL Brooks Thompson Oklahoma State Glenn Robinson and Juwan Howard are good for laughs, and not much else. Drafting those players is a good way to get stuck in suck mode. Why is pike not in bold? Charlie ward is one of the best athletes in basketball history in my opinion. Heisman trophy winning-qb who led the seminoles to the 1993 national title. Also won the sullivan and maxwell awards, and was named college football player of the year by the sporting news, along with being mvp at the orange bowl. Drafted by two mlb teams (the yankees and brewers) in 1993 and 1994, after not playing any baseball in college. Drafted in the first-round of the 94 nba entry draft by the knicks. Yinka f***ing dare is one of the funniest players. What a bust he was. I know that he was a center but come on, four assists in his nba career which lasted 110 games or 1002 minutes. Rose is a cancer and robinson is one for sure. How is good for laughs like you said and while i like marshall he has not lived up to expectations. Not even close.
  3. I think rivals>scout. Scout has gerald green as the sixth best sf prospect when he would be a top ten to 15 pick? That is wrong, very wrong.
  4. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Apr 5, 2005 -> 12:56 PM) 6-7. Powell is listed at 6-6 and i am not sure if they do it with their shoes off or not. I know they do it when they are scouting them... but if that listing is with his shoes on he is even shorter.
  5. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Apr 4, 2005 -> 11:53 PM) Oh yeah, Illiniboard.com has Greg Oden listed as a possibility. It says the Illini, Indiana and WF are the teams interested. Rivals doesn't even have him sniffing illini when it comes to being interested.
  6. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Apr 4, 2005 -> 11:37 PM) How many our we on pace for after today? Oh yes none. God, someone disagrees with the style of play and they get flamed. It's not like we're another team's trolls. We all want the Sox to win. We just feel the style of play boring. I flamed no one. It was an honest question. This game had nothing to do with small ball anyway. They just couldn't hit.
  7. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Apr 4, 2005 -> 11:37 PM) I'll be anxiously awaiting that gem. Explain to me why he is so great. Without saying he led the big ten in assists three straight years. The first year he led the big ten with pretty sad assist numbers by the way.
  8. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Apr 4, 2005 -> 11:35 PM) He just seriously said that as an illini fan, he HATES deron and that head and augustine will be better NBA players. I wouldn't put any ridiculous comment past him... I said one of head/augustine/ brown will be better and i truly believe it. Like i said. Come draft time i will explain why.
  9. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Apr 4, 2005 -> 11:33 PM) Not all sarcastic comments have to be written in green, y'all. I have never once used green. I like it because it confuses people.
  10. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Apr 4, 2005 -> 11:21 PM) Rigggggght. You are high my friend. Shavlik has played well. He's too finesse so he was never going to translate well in the NBA, but he definately would help any team vastly. He gets overshadowed alot on Duke. They just have tons of players. Even guys as their 12th man probably would be our 7th or 8th man off our bench. Rankings aren't far off from what I've seen. The only time rankings are wrong about a player(we are talking from mediocre/average to blue chipper) is when the guy has been known to have a mental problem. That's it. Jackson and Smith won't be anything more than decent bench players. Illinois needs Rush(I heard that he was leaning to Oklahoma with Illinois being in 2nd). If not, they have no one. They also need DeAndre Thomas. 39% he shot this year. He is some more wasted talent. If weber gets them to buy into his system they will be more like four star recruits. Coaching is underated compared to scouting and ranking with stars.
  11. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Apr 4, 2005 -> 11:22 PM) Huh? Pippen was an amazing defender and good scorer. No way.
  12. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Apr 4, 2005 -> 11:20 PM) Sorry, but this one is classic. I will say why when it comes draft time.
  13. QUOTE(Beastly @ Apr 4, 2005 -> 10:51 PM) I felt the same way dude. Its going to be boring...home runs will be few and far between as well as rare. "White Sox baseball...deal with it." 200+ homeruns will not be enough for you this year?
  14. Fazekas was a three star recruit and will be a first round draft pick after his junior year.
  15. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Apr 4, 2005 -> 11:07 PM) Other teams will get stronger an Ill doesn't have anybody coming in. With a wife and kids, I'm gone. Rush, possibly. It is a perfect place for him to go. He definitely has an open spot as a starter.
  16. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Apr 4, 2005 -> 10:59 PM) Why do you think people were comparing him to Pippen? Because he has no scoring ability and cannot defend a lick?
  17. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Apr 4, 2005 -> 11:01 PM) I won't blame him. I think he just missed them. Everyone equates missed shots in the 4th with being a non-clutch player. He was clutch. The shot just didn't fall. If anyone I blame is Dee Brown for being wwwaaaaaaaaaaaay too damn passive in the last 5 minutes. He had two open 3's and didn't have the balls enough to shoot or even look to shoot them. btw, for the DeRon thing, I'm just saying, that's just me. And no, I'm not saying that because I'm mad he's leaving. If I seriously had his ability and came that damn close, I'm going for it all again, one more year. Maybe you would maybe you wouldn't. You do not have that oppurtunity to truly know what you would do. Playing with shaq and other players you have always idolized and getting any women you want ( even though they can now) while gettting paid millions of dollars is quite the temptation
  18. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Apr 4, 2005 -> 11:00 PM) A Final Four is an excellent accomplishment. I'd go as far as saying that previous teams with frankie and cook were more talented, but these guys had an amazing run to the Final Four. Frank williams is a waste of talent. Never ceased to amaze me that he would do all his scoring after we were up by twenty. He was a stat padder nothing more in my opinion. Now he is just an out of shape fatass. Cook was and is very talented. No one else ever really stuck out at me.
  19. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Apr 4, 2005 -> 10:54 PM) Oh yeah, 12-38 from threes. 38 FREAKING THREES. That's not good. National championship game record.
  20. QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ Apr 4, 2005 -> 10:57 PM) Luther really pulled a cubs tonight. He has been a pimp all year and i wish the best of luck to him in the nba. I am not gonna blame this game on any one player. It was a team effort good or bad.
  21. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Apr 4, 2005 -> 10:54 PM) He's on a free ride anyway? You're implying that his family is poor for some reason. Do you have any inside info?? Are they poor. Seriously, coming that close and knowing I have another year of eligibility left and that I could go one more year without living in a huge mansion or having that range rover, I wouldn't think twice. Unless my family was piss poor, I would stay. Maybe that's the competitive spirit in me. He tears his acl and misses the majority of the year his stock would drop... a lot. Difference between top five money and after is a lot.
  22. QUOTE(danman31 @ Apr 4, 2005 -> 10:52 PM) Does this include the playoffs? Surgery cannot be good. I am thinking they are shutting him down until next year. But nothing has been confirmed yet. I would rather have him sit out the rest of this year honestly so that he does not make it any worse if he tries to force it again.
  23. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Apr 4, 2005 -> 10:51 PM) I wouldn't call crying classless. I was talking about this... forgot to get rid of the other sentence.
  24. QUOTE(El Piervizdyeguchansodnik @ Apr 4, 2005 -> 10:50 PM) Because you're a bunch of babies? Christ, Buerhle pitches a gem, the White Sox beat the 2005 AL Central Champ Powerhouse Cleveland Indians and everyone dies. This game>>>>>>>>>>>>>> one white sox game.
