  1. Fire burning...fire burning. If the sox lose this game blame ozzie for not being proactive in recognizing that the 2rd time through they are getting to him.
  2. Eh im not sure about Buehrle here, like I said here we are third time through the lineup. this is usually where trouble starts.
  3. Not sure if I bring back Buehrle, looks like 3rd time through they are starting to get to him. No need to risk his nice outing. Id go str8 to my A squad in the pen for a few innings with an off day tomorrow.
  4. QUOTE (CWSOX45 @ Aug 12, 2009 -> 10:43 PM) Usually I'm the first to defend these guys, but there is no excuse for that. You HAVE to get that run in with less than 2 outs. Ugh. I thought with Pods up we might see a squeeze play or at least a hit and run with Nix on first.
  5. WOW, i think the Mariners might win this game tonite on Luck alone.
  6. QUOTE (tommy @ Aug 12, 2009 -> 10:28 PM) Watchin Alexei tonight, he seems to throw harder on the grounders to SS. He is still the epdimey of Alfonso Soriano, I mean Pedro Cerrano.......straight ball he hit very well, curve ball bats are afraid.
  7. Here we go Buehrle 3rd time through the order. Stay sharp defense.
  8. QUOTE (Friend of Nordhagen @ Aug 12, 2009 -> 09:35 PM) The fact that folks didn't automatically think something was wrong with Getz says a little something about how little we trust Ozzie's lineups. Well what are u supposed to think, Ozzie has practically already said sometimes he makes decisions based on his gut. That means u will tend to see some WTF type decisions from him.
  9. QUOTE (bmags @ Aug 12, 2009 -> 09:33 PM) I guess I'll just repeat that according to the pregame show there was a groin issue for Getz. Ok makes me feel better then.
  10. Why the heck is Jayson "Behind in the Count" Nix playing in this game anyway. Beside that fact that after taking first pitch right down the middle to fall behind and almost guaranteeing the strikeout why is he playing today against a tough righty instead of Getz. Ive said it a million times, Nix is dismal at the plate aside from the occasional pull HR.
  11. Yeah I know its TMZ, but im watching now and they have video of Vick at Ohare airport, hes like walking out to a car or something. Interesting scenario. Are the Bears interested in Vick?
  12. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 11, 2009 -> 06:31 PM) Fields isn't long for the White Sox organization, but he won't be waived. He's probably feeling sorry for himself, and you can't blame him, but he's going about getting a major league gig all wrong. Teams will wonder why a guy who has performed like he has the last 2 seasons thinks he should be handed a starting job on the major league level. He'll hang around as fodder for some team for a while, but probably won't have much of a career. Hes done with us...below average fielder, below average hitter (cant cover the fastball). He just like Joe Borchard he played his way out of the organization with poor performance and a lack of improvement over the years.
  13. Food Wise its awesome. I love the elotes corn (off the cob), the Cheese Quesadillas are great, loaded with stuff and only $2.75. I also like the new burrito/fajita stand as well as the Italian beef with the spice curly fries. Damn good stuff. If u are staying dtown or with a friend somewhere in the city make sure to take the red line to the game so u can drink. Thought if ur driving thats cool too, plenty of tailgating in the lots before the game. Get ur ticket in the lower deck, anywhere. Spend some time walking and wondering the outfield concourse, cool gathering areas, views, fan decks, statues, good food.
  14. QUOTE (CQMVP @ Aug 10, 2009 -> 11:37 PM) Dye needs to sit. He couldn't hit a sixteen inch softball lately. Either got pull happy or his timing is way off becuase id say if he doesnt strike out, right now like 80% of his out are grounders to third or short.
  15. QUOTE (GordoTheGreat @ Aug 10, 2009 -> 11:25 PM) Why can't Liner do that when we need him to? Becasue sometimes u have to have the wheels fall off the realize some changes need to be made. It looked me like he figured it out. He has been getting killed by Righties on his fastball, which most of the time starts away and runs right to the middle/middle in part of the plate. Meatball pitch. Derek Lee got him on that pitch in June and Jamey Caroll got him yesterday. U see todays game. He threw the running fastball to Ichiro (runs away from him), and threw none of those running fastballs, only offspeed stuff to Gutierrez or Lopez (both righties). And low and behold a 1-2-3 inning.
  16. Brink just struck Ichiro out on the patented RH meatball pitch, that fastball that runs inwards to righties. Looks like a good pitch against lefties but I guarantee if Brink throws that running FB to Gutierrez or Lopez its gone.
  17. QUOTE (Tex @ Aug 10, 2009 -> 08:56 PM) He may have been tossed under the bus today. I certainly feel Kenny had Dye in mind with his "ruffled feathers" comment on WSCR Can u elaborate on this comment, I missed it.
  18. On July 12th, the last game before the All star break, Dye was hitting .302 with 20 HRs and 55 RBI. Since the break dye has posted a line of .167/4/12. Ouch!!! He is in a serious slump, now spanning a total of the last 22 games. For some reason Dye's struggles seem a bit is swept under the rug, but I have noticed a ton of pulling off the ball and rolling over to the 3B or SS. He is really scuffling and to me, as the #3 hitter in our lineup, it really effects our offensive production. Just imagine if everybody is clicking at the same time, the table setters, the 3-4-5-6 power punch. I hope he comes out of this sooner rather than later, we are really going to need our 3 hitter to produce (or dare I say get him out of the 3 spot).
  19. Yep thanks for the Catch Dewayne "The Truth" Wise. Im a little mixed on Rios just because Im not sure where he plays right now. I definatly like the move for next year and beyond. Alex Rios is definately capable of .285/25/90 line, and hes defense is solid, and he not a base clogger. I like the attitude of the Mgmt, win now for sure, get younger and faster for later. Not bad. This basically spells the end for either Dye or Thome next year, or both.
  20. I can see this being a reoccuring theme over the next few weeks
  21. QUOTE (Pumpkin Escobar @ Aug 8, 2009 -> 02:49 AM) Here's myopinion on this... For one - I think he is a very good player who still hasnt tapped his full potential. I think his power could come around in our park and I think he is nearly worth his salary right now. My concern is this- we havebeen playing well. Pods/Q/Dyein the OF has been solid. What If fear is bringing a guy like Rios inand someone immediately looks at next season. Be it Thome,Dye, or Pods...Theyll loook at this trade as a gaurentee someone is gone in the offseason and will effect their play. My spacebar is f'd up btw. But thats what I fear is that those guys will not be able to focus. I agree. Wouldnt the Jays be able to make this trade in the offseason just the same anyway. It just gonna be minor leaguers.
