QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Feb 9, 2016 -> 07:49 AM) So, is Daniel Bryan a Hall of Famer? I don't think there's any question. -

@davemeltzerWON Remember when that Ric Flair retirement segment was the greatest segment in TV wrestling history? Well, now it's second best. That's some ultra high praise. I think I agree. Totally amazing. -

QUOTE (TRU @ Feb 8, 2016 -> 10:07 PM) I dont doubt you, but im pretty sure CTE is nothing more than a guess until you're dead and they can examine your brain. I dunno, this is just weird, but I guess its legit. Well see what hes about to say. I don't know what exactly it covers to be honest. From what I can tell from Meltzer the guy he went to is the only guy in the world able to diagnose like he does. DB touched on it a bit in his speech tonight. -

QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 8, 2016 -> 09:57 PM) Where did you see this? Not doubting you but haven't seen it. Dave meltzer had a breaking news podcast on it this afternoon. He had actually gotten cleared by other doctors. Went to this one who deals with nfl and mma guys with some new fangled technology and I guess that's when the decision was made. -

QUOTE (2005thxfrthmmrs @ Feb 8, 2016 -> 09:48 PM) Missed the DB segment, but don't think it's a work. Went on WWE.COM and saw that they did a bunch of videos of superstars reacting to DB's retirement, and many of them seem like heartfelt messages. Hasn't happened yet fyi -

QUOTE (TRU @ Feb 8, 2016 -> 07:24 PM) Yeah that's like Peyton Manning wanting to play next year and the Broncos saying "Nah, you cant go anymore, but you can be assistant QB coach" and Peyton saying "Ok cool im in" He went to a 3rd party doctor with cutting edge technology dealing with Cte and concussions. They said he's f***ed up. That's why he's retiring. -

QUOTE (TRU @ Feb 8, 2016 -> 07:12 PM) Possible I guess, but what sense does that make? Why would he come out on Raw and do this if WWE is pretty much holding him hostage? Move onto a commentator role or something similar. -
I'd give up on the sport all together as they'd all have a hand in it. I would root against the cubs though, if that counts.

DB apparently at Raw tonight. -
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 6, 2016 -> 04:06 PM) Rose will easily score 40 tonight. On 14-45 shooting.

QUOTE (SouthsideDon48 @ Feb 6, 2016 -> 12:28 PM) Come on, guys. Both Odorizzi and Jennings suck. They're both busts and I wouldn't want to trade anything of value for them. Theykre the type of players that you'd wait until they're free agents and try to sign to cheap contracts. No idea how Odorizzi fits with what you're saying. He'd be a very expensive free agent.

Mods, hold him to that post.

2016 is the 25th anniversary of "New Comiskey Park" or USCF

It seemed they were ready to change the name. They took down the big US Cellular sign behind home plate, then nothing came of it. Guess usc thought it was just worth it. -
Dave Mirra, 41. Surprised how young he was. Seems like he's been around forevee

Legit the worst B1G conference game I've ever watched. Oh and we get 5 more minutes of it! -
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 3, 2016 -> 06:00 PM) Pretty sure Flair has CTE, first he talked about calling a dead guy, then he considers a 3rd place team "the man." Cte? You mean he hasn't been sober in 40 years.

So Mick Foley is at the rutgers/illinois game. Your move, Michigan? -
Would not do that

QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Feb 2, 2016 -> 04:57 PM) If it's not Tiley, Tiley wasn't interested. There isn't a better choice. What worries me is I think his current gig might be better than our job. But if he's flying 24 hours to interview he's got to be interested(not sure if it is in person). The timing too makes sense. The Austrailian Open just wrapped up and now we finally have some news on this whole search.
-
I'd prefer Tiley to George so I'm glad he seemingly passed. But I agree I think it's weird he's still being brought up in some way. If he was the hire I certainly would not complain either. Both guys head and shoulders above the rest of the candidates.
-
The seven interviewees are Northern Illinois AD Sean Frazier, Eastern Illinois AD Tom Michael, Division III Washington University AD Josh Whitman, Central Michigan AD Dave Heeke, Florida Atlantic AD Patrick Chun, Maryland deputy AD Kelly Mehrtens and Tennis Australia CEO Craig Tiley. Per Shannon Ryan and the Tribune. Have to believe they're all in on Tiley. As I've been saying in the other threads it's the whole reason they've delayed this hire. He'd be well worth the wait though. An A+ hire so I'm waiting to see how we screw this up. The other candidates are almost all a joke.
-
I'd pull a greg and go bet the farm on trump then. He's way way ahead in the next three primaries and I'd fully expect him to win there. Not like iowa where polling was always close. Iowa is just weird for the GOP vote.

All true.

Pretty good day for Illini recruiting (relatively). Just landed LB Dele Harding who may be the best player in the class and could start from day 1. The news was that he was going to Rutgers so that's a nice surprise to get him. Also got Eddy Fish to flip his commit from Boston College to Illinois. I guess if there's a silver lining to this bad class, it's that Illinois has an oppurtunity to sign a decent offensive line class for the second year in a row. That seemed like a rarity even when they were recruiting well.
