  1. ND stadium is worst stadium I've ever been to, aside from maybe early 2000s version of Wrigley (and wrigley is still bottom 2, don't get me wrong). They desperately need the renovations.
  2. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Oct 21, 2015 -> 10:04 AM) Would anyone really be surprised to see Samardzija have a good-to-great year with some NL team next season? I'm fully expecting it to happen. In the nl? Sure. Anyone could.
  3. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 21, 2015 -> 09:06 AM) So let me get this straight, Robin Ventura's managerial winning pct. of .458 is ample proof he is a terrible manager, and no one but the White Sox would ever hire him again. And Manny Acta would make a decent bench coach hire and potential Ventura replacement despite his .385 winning pct. in 3 years in Washington and .446 winning pct. in 3 years in Cleveland. No one is really that excited with it. But it's the right move now that we've backed ourselves in a corner. Instead of going out there and finding a proper replacement, we retained Ventura and instead have to find someone who will be an assistant and maybe, just maybe get a shot at being the head guy. This is the candidate pool you get left with. If Acta replaces Parent and Ibanez replaces Baines that's about as good as I could see the staff changes going. But getting rid of Ventura still would have been better.
  4. And if they don't end up a top 4 seed, their pet project should be fired after year 1. Well, garpax should be fired too but that won't happen.
  5. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Oct 21, 2015 -> 12:29 AM) Considering Buehrle had something like four cortisone shots throughout the season and is not on the playoff roster, I think it's safe to say Buehrle is not healthy or he'd be out there pitching. He said he was healthy. Doubt they would have pitched him the last day of the year if he wasnt.
  6. So nice to see the baaeball gods finally strike down the cubs for playing Schwarber and Bryant on the field.
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 20, 2015 -> 09:07 PM) We tried a tree in CF when Griffey Jr came over Lol
  8. At least that one wasn't because of their joke of a ballpark
  9. All these disgusting sportslock and viagra commercials are bothering me. Since when did baseball attract the low brow audience? I expect that when I watch Raw.
  10. Just as I say that, Ripken makes his first decent analysis of the playoffs by mentioning rizzo was blocking the base.
  11. Can't believe they give Cal Ripken a live mic.
  12. That should be it's own thread. No reason to bury that.
  13. QUOTE (whitesoxjr27 @ Oct 20, 2015 -> 05:20 PM) If the Mets win tonight we should have a SoxTalk meet up for the game Wednesday. At the cubby bear?
  14. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 20, 2015 -> 04:12 PM) Mets are only -110 favorites. Seems low given the pitching matchup. O/U 7.5, so winds shouldn't be too big of a factor Cubs betting inflation is also asinine.
  15. Too bad Toronto doesn't have anyone to replace Dickey right now, say a playoff veteran on their roster who could go out and give them basically an unlimited amount of good innings to get them back in this.
  16. Mets still have a good offense to fall back on.
  17. This Lesnar on the stone cold podcast is absolutely one of the most fascinating things I've ever watched.
  18. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 19, 2015 -> 04:37 PM) 670 The Score ‏@670TheScore 16m16 minutes ago On air, @MLBBruceLevine said Dexter Fowler will "probably" sign elsewhere next yr & he's hearing #Cubs are more interested in Jason Heyward. I think I'd be okay with that if the price tag is indeed asinine.
