  1. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Oct 25, 2015 -> 11:43 PM) They probably have a realistic shot at him, but anytime Illinois goes after a recruit another big school wants, they lose plain and simple. Who? His offers are just Nebraska, Maryland, and Xavier from what I see. Shouldn't have too tough a time vs those guys.
  2. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 24, 2015 -> 03:01 PM) Since when is gray an official Illini color? Awful looking jerseys and helmets. Galloping ghost unis
  3. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Oct 24, 2015 -> 01:33 AM) I thought High Mileage was a Twins' fan? Maybe confusing him with someone else. BenchwarmerJim is our resident Twins fan.
  4. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Oct 23, 2015 -> 09:53 AM) https://np.reddit.com/r/baseball/comments/3...derstand_xpost/ Another cringeworthy post. The Cubs don't have the monopoly on heartbreak, especially when it's not like Chicago has exactly been starved of sports championships in the recent past. HOLY f***. I kind of liked where I thought he was going the first paragraph or so. But nope. That's one of the most cringe worthy things I've ever read. Wow.
  5. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Oct 22, 2015 -> 11:22 PM) I just want to see the Iowa State/Illinois game I've been clamoring for. At this rate, llinois wont have enough players to field a team by then.
  6. He forgot to add in the sox fans on their high horse who feel the need to shout from the rooftops they don't hate the cubs and neither should you.
  7. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Oct 22, 2015 -> 10:01 PM) Jake Arrietas season will when all is said and done hamper the rebuild. The cub will now have to pay him upward of $20M next season. He is in essence the first big signing of the off season for them. Not certain where their payroll is headed but Arrieta seems like an expensive gamble. His increased inning load screams arm issues next year. 20 seems like a lot. I'd say 15 tops. He's not quite David Price. But yeah I bet he's going to blow out his arm, if he hasn't done so already
  8. QUOTE (GREEDY @ Oct 22, 2015 -> 01:08 PM) I think this team could look very different next year and I'd hate to break it to everyone but if you want to acquire major league position players, you have to give up something in return. There isn't team in baseball that has a messageboard full of fans dying to acquire Frankie Montas, Tyler Danish & Courtney Hawkins. Our message board isn't dying to acquire any one specific prospect either. Mostly because they're underexposed and and unknown. That's the scouts jobs to come up with those names.
  9. Castro would have to be a pure contract dump. Couldn't give up anything valuable for him.
  10. I'm all aboard the Upton train. A few months back and I think the though was that he would definitely get more than Cespedes. Cespedes got thrown into the spotlight and the rest is history. Targeting Upton day 1 while the rest fight over Heyward and Cespedes would be my play.
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 22, 2015 -> 08:21 AM) Maybe they just think he's uncoachable? They're right. A young position player coming here and succeeding clearly is not listening to our coaches.
  12. B and B have no idea when it comes to the Sox. That's been clear for years.
  13. QUOTE (Pants Rowland @ Oct 21, 2015 -> 10:44 PM) http://www.theonion.com/article/steve-bart...ubs-curse-51655 Oh man I'm crying laughing at this. But seriously bad idea onion
  14. What's with wrigley booing the mets? Really?
  15. Haha that line was awesome. "This series had nothing to do with Billy goats, back to the future or anything like that. It was one team out playing the other in every facet of the game."
  16. QUOTE (whitesoxjr27 @ Oct 21, 2015 -> 07:13 PM) Murphy make like a tree and get out of here? What kind of sign is that? Stupid back to the future reference.
  17. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 21, 2015 -> 06:46 PM) Lucas Duda homers today. And Murphy doesn't. Bet those home run props If you insist
  18. QUOTE (JUSTgottaBELIEVE @ Oct 21, 2015 -> 12:16 PM) http://ftw.usatoday.com/2015/10/chicago-cu...y-goat-nlcs-mlb God I hate them. They also invited the actor from rookie of the year to be there tonight. Got to keep the image of being a sideshow franchise up.
  19. Yeah I'd be on the phone tomorrow trading Schwarber. Castro too, but they can't unload his contract.
