  1. We just drafted Mason Robbins, who from what I can tell was a pretty big prospect at one point but he hasn't done anything at all in college. 7th overall prospect in Mississippi by Baseball America which seems good. Nice flyer I guess
  2. Ryan Leonards 3B, LA Lafayette. What's this position player thing
  3. Last pick Brannon Easterling. Sox take a flyer on a guy who destroyed small competition. Fine with me. More interesting than the last few picks.
  4. Aaron Bummer LHP Nebraska. His scouting report is the real bummer
  5. Last two picks were nice: Ben Brewster 11 k/9 2.74 as a reliever at Maryland. Unique delivery. Matt Cooper: 1.60 ERA 106 ks in 106 IPs. 1.04 WHIP. At Hawaii. High arm slot with high leg raise delivery Throws FB, CV, CH, occasional SL Fastball sits 88-92 Best pitch is 12/6 curve with big break Throws strikes Shows good command of all pitches Relaxed on the mound
  6. 2nd best available prospect coming into the day. 97 on his fastball. Already had Tommy John. Guessing we don't sign him but won't hurt to try.
  7. QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Jun 7, 2014 -> 12:29 PM) Mike Gomez, closer, Florida International University. 4.10 ERA. Decent strikeout to walk ratio. Not rated on BA 500. Can't find much of anything on him. More filler.
  8. QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Jun 7, 2014 -> 12:25 PM) Perfect Game has him with an 87 mph fastball and a potential plus curve. Yeah was gonna post that. Sounds like he flat out sucks. Filler.
  9. QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Jun 7, 2014 -> 12:18 PM) Connor Walsh, RHP, Cincinnati. 3.86 ERA. Uninspiring strikeout numbers. #318 on the BA 500. Must be some stuff there.
  10. Some scouting details on Fish: HS: Potential 5-tool player that can play any position... Strong, accurate arm from the OF. Tremendous power for his size, excellent bat speed and can steal bases 2013 Spring Notes Strong solid build Very good raw power Good bat speed Will take a walk Will take an ugly swing at times
  11. 7th best prospect out of Oklahoma. Number 8 Big 12 prospect coming into the season. Doesn't sound like he will stick at catcher.
  12. Top college players left on mlb.com 1. Jordan Brink, RHP 2. Dean Deatz, RHP 3. Colin Welmon, RHP 4. Cole Hunter, CF 5. A.J. Vinegas, RHP 6. Richard Prignatato, RF 7. Patrick Weigal, RHP 8. Sam Hilliard, LHP 9. Halen Beeks, LHP 10. Ben Smith LHP
  13. QUOTE (The Ultimate Champion @ Jun 7, 2014 -> 10:11 AM) Also the Sox send their scouts out to watch players who are 2-sport guys play other sports, "Of f***ing course they do" -every Sox fan ever
  14. QUOTE (The Ultimate Champion @ Jun 7, 2014 -> 09:52 AM) And Laumann doesn't sound as if there's any concerns with Adams at all. Likes Frye, thinks he'll be on the fast track. Yeah I think Frye will be fast tracked, too that pick. Signable guy but should be able to move up easily with his experience.
  15. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 6, 2014 -> 11:33 PM) L W W at Dodgers mean L W W at Angels............put all you money on Sale. Sox winning tomorrow is the absolute lock of the century
  16. Carroll got his pension status by now right
  17. I don't know I don't think he's been very good there this year.
  18. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 6, 2014 -> 10:23 PM) Boras loves to be the show for a month and milk it for all it is worth, That is why some teams avoid him. Just wait till DV is a FA he will want the moon then Sox say see ya. Or they get him to fire Boras like both Danks did
