I like Oliver more I read. Good, potentially great stuff, maybe better than anyone left. Hasn't been able to put it together yet for whatever reason. DUI a day before the draft because he's apparently a moron but that should be a great negotiating tactic.

Exactly. Reliever must be the easiest position to acquire/develop and has the lowest potential value. I'd be hard pressed to take a reliever in the top 5 rounds.
Ring was the centerpiece for acquiring a hall of famer and Reed was plenty valuable for us before being shipped off for a top prospect. Small sample sizes and all that but they both worked out. Trying to think of anymore high reliever picks we made. Anyways, relievers can move quickly and be more of a sure thing. I'm all for it for now on.

Apparently Micah Johnson is "untouchable"
Fine with me. Keep saying he's untouchable, until he's not. No reason to trade him anyways this year.

Thoughts on Michael Cederoth for the upcoming pick?
That would be the 3rd San Diego State closer we've drafted in the first few rounds in 12 years. Whatever, I'm down.
QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jun 6, 2014 -> 12:17 AM)
None of what you said disputes the fact that their target demo is little kids.
That's funny you say that since their home consoles demos skew higher than the competition and that's maybe a problem for them. Although makes sense when system sellers like Call of Duty/GTA and it's 100 clones are targeted towards kids and otherwise completely brainless, no matter how much I enjoy them and aren't going to move consoles on Nintendo platforms.
QUOTE (danman31 @ Jun 5, 2014 -> 10:20 PM)
I don't understand the appeal to Nintendo. They just make baby games designed for kids. Their audience just keeps buying nostalgia.
Seriously though, it's pretty easy to see why people like Nintendo. They are universally considered the best developer on the planet and you know when you buy their games they will be quality given their track record and extremely polished, which is sadly a big deal these days.

I loved this quote:
Gosh darn those fast moving lefties with frontline potential.
I'm just going to go ahead and not believe he actually wrote that
I'm guessing no one else in this draft is coming close:
1. Rodon
2. Anderson
3. Johnson
4. Danish
5. Hawkins
6. Adams
7. Sanchez
8. Davidson
9. Michalczewski
10. Ravelo
Tempted to switch Adams and Sanchez but otherwise pretty firm with those.
QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Jun 5, 2014 -> 09:47 PM)
The rumour is that Rodon's demand is $6m. That's only a couple hundred thou over the Sox slot. Mightn't need much savings. Mightn't need any at all if they get him at slot for a promise of a quick promotion.
I said it at the time but that tweet should have been an indication he's negotiating with the Sox.
QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 5, 2014 -> 09:46 PM)
KC drafting a Catcher with Perez signed long term huh?
Never enough catcher depth, especially when they develop terribly slowly.
QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Jun 5, 2014 -> 08:45 PM)
We all agree that Rodon is the top prospect in the system, assuming that he signs?
He's going to be a top 30 guy in all of the minors probably, so yeah, doubt it's even close.
Yeah I'm a lot more concerned when he signs than how much he signs for.
We could go around Boras. Tell him directly you can be in the majors this year, if you sign now. Boras won't like that very much.

Nobody here cares about spoiler tags. Just post it.
Oh, also, LOL @ Cubs for that pick.
A lot of people cared.
