  1. Cubs booted off wgn radio after 90 years.
  2. QUOTE (whitem0nkey @ Jun 3, 2014 -> 11:15 PM) just saw cubs moving to CBS, so does that mean the score will drop the sox? its in the final year i believe. Cubs are moving to 780. Don't think we will get the boit. If anything it seems CBS thinks baseball is still an attractive option on the radio.
  3. QUOTE (iguchi=dank @ Jun 3, 2014 -> 11:09 PM) Well no s***. Are they not team announcers and also well known... Possibly more well known than your 2nd most recognized baseball announcer who is known for melting down good or bad Hawk is essentially the identity of the Sox, or at least a major part of it. Similar to Scully and the Dodgers. Nobody really recognizes the guys you mentioned for the teams they work for, sorry.
  4. QUOTE (iguchi=dank @ Jun 3, 2014 -> 11:03 PM) Dick Enberg, Jon miller, Gary Thorne. No biggies there.. Just cus u get a few mentions on espn and deadspin doesn't make u the 2nd most well known baseball announcer Those guys are ultimately known because they are national announcers.
  5. Sox just lead off SportsCenter by the way. Doesn't happen very often.
  6. QUOTE (iguchi=dank @ Jun 3, 2014 -> 10:53 PM) Not even remotely true. Outside of a few lines no one really knows or cares about hawk. That's just your bias showing. Both New York teams alone have more famous guys, and the list is much longer. C'mon brah Nah. Places like ESPN and Deadspin.com are constantly mentioning Hawk. Theres a reason for that(mainly being ridiculous), and hes become the idendity of the Sox. No New York announcers can come close to saying that.
  7. QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Jun 3, 2014 -> 10:48 PM) Yeah, people think the reason Scully is great is because he's old. That's why Hawk is America's second-favourite broadcaster. He probably is the most famous team announcer outside Vin.
  8. QUOTE (iguchi=dank @ Jun 3, 2014 -> 10:43 PM) Dude u can b**** about a few things with vin but that voice is so sexy nothing else matters. Also it's the last 1 man booth and he called Brooklyn dodger games. Why do u hate awesome things.. "But..but...but he's old and been doing It for so long. He must be good!" No, he's brutal and puts you to sleep. There's a reason every booth now has 2 people in it. This isn't the 1950s.
  9. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Jun 3, 2014 -> 10:32 PM) Bias that hard cheapens the experience. What was his excuse last night? I had it on Vin Scully. He was really tough on him actually but he did make one comment to defend him. Vin Scully is truly awful. Turn him off.
  10. Give me Gillaspie. I know it's probably a pipe dream at this point but realky, who wants to draft a 1bman
  11. "They going to play the whole song?"
  12. That was fortunate. Be ready, Scott Carroll.
  13. QUOTE (Springfield SoxFan @ Jun 3, 2014 -> 09:42 PM) It will also be fascinating to watch the Cubs and Twins at 4 and 5. Because of the city and our division, we will get to see their picks a lot but let's hope we leave them in the dust. Remember the Cubs drafting Ty Griffin and Mike Harkey (I think) right ahead of the Sox. Can't wait for Thursday, great conversation everyone. Takes the mind off of the Blackhawks as well. Cubs don't want anything to do with Kolek, apparently. Another, albeit far down, reason to take Aiken/Rodon.
  14. It's 2014 why are pitchers still batting
  15. QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Jun 3, 2014 -> 09:29 PM) What did he say, I have Vin Why would anyone subject themselves to that? Yeah I thought Beckhams shot was a hr too. Oh well. Nice job Noesi but too many pitches.
  16. Yeah we'll know our second pick Thursday too. Which will also be a pitcher if Buddy Bell is any indication.
  17. Unquestionably 2 of the top 3 now. Davidson has fallen out our "big" 5.
  18. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 30, 2014 -> 05:04 PM) It is pretty awesome. And those screen grabs are for real, that is not glitzed up promo shots. This game is beautiful It's the most well animated game I've ever seen.
  19. Just say no to Kolek (if Rodon and/or Aiken are there).
  20. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 3, 2014 -> 03:15 PM) As a fan of a team, dont you WANT people to be interested in it? I dont get the resistance at this point of having newer fans. Everyone has to start somewhere. I would kill for the Sox to get the bandwagon base of the Hawks.
  21. I bandwagon the s*** out of the Hawks. I pretty much only watch during the playoffs, never before their first cup season. Go out for the big gamesn get wild when they win. I go to the playoff games, helping drive up the price of playoff tickets only to hear "longtime" fans b**** about how they can't afford it anymore. Oh well. Nobody gives a s*** how long you've been a fan.
  22. Awesome news about Miami, if true. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 3, 2014 -> 03:05 PM) 51 hours. Sox are getting Kolek. Don't curse us like that. Positive thoughts.
