  1. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 16, 2014 -> 01:24 PM) Doesnt make it any less true. The Big Ten thing is interesting, looks like NW or ILL and I'm not clear if he had the grades to get into NW. >>inferring you need decent grades to play Northwestern football
  2. Yeah it's a compete dumpster fire of a company. They've been getting rid of their divisions piece by piece for a few years now starting with their music then their pcs and now their tvs. It manages to lose money in every single division it runs (which is a ton) except for selling insurance, oddly, and sometimes spiderman makes them a pretty penny.
  3. Nintendo is significantly better off than Sony financially so if anything you'd be seeing Sony IPs on Nintendos system. Not that that has any chance of happening either.
  4. Damn right down the block from me. I would go if it wasn't Memorial Day weekend. I will try to make it if I'm home but don't think I will be.
  5. Wwe stock down 50 percent today. I bought in at 10.70.
  6. QUOTE (scs787 @ May 15, 2014 -> 11:41 PM) Speaking of SS, I read a rumor we might get Cesaro vs Lesner....uh...yes please That'd be great. Only problem I see is that neither should lose. Cesaro shouldn't lose his first major match/feud and Lesnar shouldnt Lose Til Bryan at next WM. On another note, who is even deserving of the title right now? Batista? He's leaving. Orton? Just had it, boring. Kane? Ugh no. Lesnar? If he's not a part timer sure. Cena? Ugh no. Reigns? He's terrible. That's pretty much the whole main event. HHH is probably the best option in 2014.
  7. QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ May 16, 2014 -> 07:31 AM) Uh, no, not really. But, like Jimmy Carter, his public image is largely rehabilitated, yes. Further discussion along these lines likely belongs in the Buster, I'd think. Former presidents are a lot like back-up QB's. His approval rating for presidential years is 47 percent as of April 2013. Not as high as I thought but I imagine the liking of him outside that is significantly higher. Yes they are like backup qbs but that's alright. His politics don't really matter here with regards to commish and yeah probably belong in the filibuster.
  8. QUOTE (Vance Law @ May 15, 2014 -> 11:43 PM) this was meant to be in green? Nope his approval rating for his presidential years is 50 percent now and liking Bush the man is much higher than that. He is a real candidate according to every article yesterday and would obviously be the most qualified man for the job but yeah, can't seem him taking it for obvious reasons.
  9. Better than Pacific Rim?
  10. QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 15, 2014 -> 08:52 PM) TNA gets worse by the week MVP as heel GM is absurd. MVP could not draw flies with honey, I look for Spike TV not to renew TV deal with TNA come October. I hate tna but the Menagerie is awesome. And at least they book their champion better.
  11. Candidates according to espn: MLB chief operating officer Rob Manfred; Bob Bowman, CEO of MLB Advanced Media; Tim Brosnan, baseball's executive vice president for business; investment banker Steve Greenberg, who was deputy commissioner under Fay Vincent; Milwaukee Brewers owner Mark Attanasio; Atlanta Braves chairman Terry McGuirk, Arizona Diamondbacks president Derrick Hall; former Yale president Rick Levin; former President George W. Bush; and former NBC Sports chairman Dick Ebersol.
  12. QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ May 15, 2014 -> 05:07 PM) He might do a fine job, but it would be deemed too polarizing/political a hire, so I can't see it. I think everyone loves post president Bush and there isn't anything less polarizing than baseball. With his connections I think he'd be an amazing hire. But more of a pipe dream candidate because why would he want it? His name for the job has obviously been at the top of the list for this job in every article about this for year's now, but just can't see it.
  13. Hopefully George W Bush is ready to get back to work
  14. Abreu vs Tanaka segment on ATH today. 2 of the 3 took Abreu. Tony Reali ranted that no one has been giving Abreu enough attention all year whereas Puig got it last year.
  15. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ May 15, 2014 -> 01:54 PM) Damn Mario Kart 8 reviews are incredible. .
  16. I said if he can stay healthy I'll like it. But with his style and what we've seen so far that doesn't look good. On the flip side Santiago isn't doing any better but I do believe he would have developed differently here. Regardless what he does my like or dislike for it depends on what Eaton will do.
  17. Moves I loved at the time: Gillaspie trade Sale signing Q signing Reed trade Abreu signing Drafting I think I'm looking good here, other than maybe the Reed trade Moves I didn't like at the time Santiago for Eaton Adrian Nieto picked under the assumption he stayed up Some bullpen stuff Peavy trade None of these have done anything in particular to change my mind. The Eaton one I like now if he can stay healthy but we will see. Honestly the Sale and Abreu signings and far outweigh this stuff anyways.
  18. Damn Mario Kart 8 reviews are incredible.
  19. That's why mega threads are bad. Even those last tidbits in the MiL catch all are thread worthy. Nice to see though. He's certainly on the fast track.
  20. QUOTE (raBBit @ May 15, 2014 -> 01:01 PM) Kind of like how Hahn signed Keppinger for three years and then backed out before he stepped on the field for his second year? Hahn is a leader because he owns his mistake and pulls the cord on it but Law is a dumbass because he recanted his initial Abreu opinion... This industry isn't an easy one that's east to project. It's not as if Chris Sale went #1, he went #13 and twelve other teams passed on him. Well Dick Allen was talking about our superstars with obvious talent, not Keppinger. Hahn signed both of those guys and is 2 for 2 on that (counting an extension may be cheating but Hahn was in the FO obviously at the time). Law not so much.
  21. Does anyone know what was with Gillaspie being one of the few players ever drafted then called up the same year? Was it just something in his contract to make sure he could always say he played in the bigs? How did that affect his pay? Kind of surprised it didn't set a precedent if it was contractual.
