QUOTE (danman31 @ Mar 19, 2010 -> 11:17 PM) Losing a game these teams were supposed to lose proves they didn't belong in the tournament? I'm calling bulls***. Did you watch them? Then yes, you would agree. -

QUOTE (The Bones @ Mar 19, 2010 -> 11:58 PM) Good to see UTEP and Utah State made the most of their at-large bids. After the worst seeding job in tournament history, the SC proved they couldn't get the bubble teams right either. Time to clean house, though it's on a rotation anyways. -
QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Mar 19, 2010 -> 09:29 PM) Wisconsin could perhaps frustrate Kentucky/put them to sleep, but the Wildcats still have immeasurably better players, and that's hard to overcome. But they've overcome it plenty enough. Wins against Maryland, Duke, Purdue with Hummel, Ohio State, Marquette, Michigan State...that's about as good as a profile as anyone in the country. Now are any of those teams as good as Kentucky? I'm not sure. The Wildcats have yet to beat a top tier team. They surely haven't even played a team like Wisconsin, whether that be stylistically or statistically.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Mar 19, 2010 -> 09:24 PM) A classic example of why you shouldn't always believe computers. Good luck slowing down Kentucky's pace, going to be tough to turn a game against a team with multiple 1st round draft picks into a pitchers duel. Do I believe they would be favorites? No. But Kentucky has yet to play a team even remotely close to being as good as Wisconsin. They are definitely vulnerable.
-
Wisconsin will/would be computer favorites against Kentucky. I wouldn't sleep on them, even given a poor performance today.

99th percentile on ESPN. I know nobody cares. -
Louisville doesn't play defense, but for some reason I have them beating Duke too.

It was initially reported on a website called fvsports.com yesterday morning. A glorified blog. Sounds like Tubby is just looking to get a raise, and that's it. Auburn may be looking at him, but they have yet to make any move.
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Mar 19, 2010 -> 06:24 PM) Tubby's leaving for Auburn after this game, according to a great source. The source that started it all was Scott Pohlman, former Auburn guard. It also started on a message board. No, I don't buy it for a second, either. There was a minor report out last week on Tubby fighting for a raise. This is no more than a move to get that raise.

Texas/Wake are setting back basketball back a decade. As expected, I guess.
-
EDIT: OK, I'll stand corrected, but in my defense, this game has been brutal.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 19, 2010 -> 02:55 AM) I'm sure those people that are 11/11 are basketball experts too. Just like in 06, when George Mason & a bunch of 2-4 seeds made the Final Four and there were still people that had picked the four correctly. No one on ESPN had the correct final 4 that year, though 4 people did have George Mason. I finished something like 20th nationally that year, actually almost had it perfect with 3/4 and Mason in the Elite 8. Pretty much my claim to fame.

Big East has been just terrible today. If it weren't for refs, they'd be oh fer.
-
QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Mar 17, 2010 -> 02:32 PM) Rely heavily on the play of the three returning guards while playing the same offense and typical three guard lineup? Yeah they are. Their defense is not remotely close to what it was last year.
-
QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Mar 16, 2010 -> 01:56 PM) They know they are very much like the team that went to the Final Four last year No they aren't.
-
Every elite 8 team since 2004 has been in the top 50 in both offensive and defensive efficiency. But this year that won't happen as the bottom of the South is so bad that no one qualifies under that. Baylor comes pretty close though.

Man, I make sure to watch every B10 tourney game but terrible line-up today. Cully Payne having a day though.

I have finally given in to watching Couples Retreat with my girlfriend. I am officially whipped.

Is there a more overrated player from the Big Ten than Kalin Lucas in the last decade? -
How do you feel about the Designated Hitter?

QUOTE (JPN366 @ Mar 8, 2010 -> 09:20 PM) I prefer the DH, but how about making it optional? Say the Brewers and the Cubs play. Milwaukee decides to use the DH with Prince Fielder, but the Cubs have Zambrano pitching, so they don't. Let the individual teams decide what to do game by game. Is it how the system is now in the AL? Pretty sure AL pitchers have hit in AL games somewhat recently, though that was due to managerial error rather than them actually being capable hitters. EDIT: OK, yeah I was right. Matt Garza hit against us in 2007. Hipolito Pichardo in 2000. There's been a few more too, pretty sure. EDIT2: Twins have actually done it a lot recently...once each of the past 3 seasons due to Redmond getting hurt. Yankees forfeited their DH in the playoffs last year, as did Oakland in a regular season game. As for starting a game with the pitcher in the line-up, the Rays did it last year due to a Joe Maddon blunder. -

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Mar 8, 2010 -> 08:24 PM) Probably but the bottom of the bubble teams are truly awful. Here is Lunardi's current last 4 in, first four out and next four out. Also, RPI is a truly awful tool that I wish the committee would do away with. There are much better indicators (Kenpom, other statistical rankings) of a teams quality than RPI. The RPI is a great tool if you know how to use it. Your pure RPI doesn't matter much in the least bit, whether it be to the SC or determining quality. It's more or less used as a grouping tool. -
I can't imagine how interesting this show could possibly be. Other than having a culture that glamorizes drinking, the southside culture seems to be as down to earth as you can get. Literally the exact opposite of something like the Jersey Shore.

That article was horrible. Basically he wants to trade Howard...to keep Jason Werth? What? You don't trade your face of the franchise in the midst of your golden era.
