Can Gload even be on the Playoff roster? Didn't you have to be called up before September 1st to do so?

QUOTE(Felix @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 03:15 AM) Or, how about T-6th lowest WHIP in the AL? Or 6th highest K/BB ratio in the AL? Or T-4th in wins in the AL? WOAH! Felix making a valid point! Somebody take a picture! Still doesn't change the fact that these stats are padded by his superb 1st half. Simply put, go with the best pitcher as ofnow, not a couple months ago. The obvious choice being Count. I'm going to bed. Been fun talking to you.

QUOTE(Felix @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 03:04 AM) Yes. And at the very least, he and KW did it together. So what your telling me is you have proof OG told KW to sign Dye? Told KW to Trade for Posednik? Sign Dustin Hermanson? Sign Iguchi? Trade for Count? Please, I'd like a link. Nevermind, such a thing doesn't exit. KW built this team through and through.

QUOTE(Felix @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 03:09 AM) 3rd best ERA in the AL for the season. Good enough? Better, but still no cigar. You're blind if you think Mark is Mark right now and is the ace of this team. Blind to think he is pitching like the #1 of the best team in the AL, record wise. You and I both know he padded his stats in the 1st half, much like the team padded their record.

QUOTE(Felix @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 03:07 AM) In the AL, a 4.07 ERA isnt that bad. Only 22 pitchers in the AL have an ERA below 4.00 on the season.. LOL You come up with this stat to defend Mark as you game 1 starter? Please...
-
QUOTE(Felix @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 03:02 AM) Is that why he threw a CG 4 hitter against Minnesota in a high pressure situation? Is that why he went 6-5, with 4.07 ERA during the stretch run?
-
QUOTE(Felix @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 02:51 AM) Ozzie was the one who told KW to get these players.. No.

2nd Half Count: 10-2. 3.02 ERA Mark: 6-5, 4.07 ERA kthxbye

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 02:22 AM) Yes, period.

QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 01:56 AM) Most Valuable Player: Tadahito Iguchi- He hit behind Podsednik all season long and has sacrificed himself for the good of the team. Excellent at hitting behind the runner and doing all the little things. Is the Sox best all-around hitter. Most Vauable Pitcher: Jose Contreras- A huge question mark coming into the season he had a stellar season and won 15 games despite getting little or no run support during the first 2 months of the season. He should have 20 wins by now. Most Improved Player: Jon Garland- Finally took the next step from being a .500 pitcher to being a 17-20 win pitcher. He improved his control and started throwing inside more. Coming in everybody would be just fine if he put up numbers that he had his entire career. He has done much more than that. Most Pleasant Surprise: Neal Cotts- He started as a mop-up man and ended up being one of the top setup men in the game. He has given up 1 Home Run this season with his ERA hovering in the high 1's. Biggest Disappointment: Aaron Rowand- A lot of players would be happy with a .275 average and 13 Home Runs. Aaron Rowand was coming off of a seaon with 24 Home Runs and a .310 Batting Average. This only came in 489 At Bats. People expected to him hit around 30 Home Runs however he hasn't delivered. MVP- AJP MVPitcher- Jon Garland Most Improved- Jon Garland Surprise- Bobby Jenks Disapointment- Ozzie Guillen

QUOTE(redandwhite @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 10:57 PM) I've got an idea. If you don't care, don't post. How about that? Wait, now I will care. http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/index.jsp That the video your talking about?(Click the 1st video) I don't see the big deal about it at all.

Better yet, who cares?

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 04:04 AM) Ok who hits in the #4 spot then? That's 40HR and 100RBI's your losing of production right there. Who else on the Sox or in the FA market is going to replace that? And I'm getting sick of this payroll bashing. The fact is, the payroll has increased for the last 5 years in a row at least. With a record # of Attendance for a while, there's no way, it ain't gonna get increased. Right now, I'd take a #3 hole hitter and then worry about the 4 hole. Where did I ever bash the payroll? All I'm saying is that its doubtful again to raise the payroll such a significant amount to be able to resign Konerko and other key additions. Really, do you want an offense like this years?
-
QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 03:42 AM) I really think Ozzie's gonna jump ship to Florida this off-season, when they fire McKeon (which is pretty much a lock to happen now). I know most people look at the whole what he has with ties to the franchise. But he has many more ties here, IMO. So his decision would have to be based off something else.

QUOTE(Commander Fisk @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 03:36 AM) I suppose you wouls rather have Ross Gload? Pk has been our only hitter this year and his recent slump was moving to third with Everett hitting behing him. His #'s have been unreal when you consider he's had no protection this year. No. Assuming we don't get to the World Series, yet another payroll increase is unlikely. We don't need to spend the 11-12 mill on Paul Konerko. Give me someone who can hit the 3 hole please.

No thanks.

Oh yes, I forgot. We could use a Bullpen make-over as well.

QUOTE(C_LEE45 @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 03:01 AM) Rowand i think we need to upgrade in CF he mis-plays way to many balls granted he makes nice plays and gives 100% no doubt but mis played ALOT and his bat is nothing like last year ,what does everybody think could it be possable he was on roids? i think a good POWER hitting CF and use rowand as a bench player ,sign KONERKO and add a good DH and furcal and then have Uribe and Crede share 3rd base Keeping Uribe at SS is a must.

Offensively speaking, the only 3 who should be guaranteed spots next year are AJP, Uribe, Gooch and Dye. The other 5 are not and should not be safe.
