  1. After doing some research, I’m all aboard the Kirby Yates train. He was the best reliever on the planet from 2017-2019. He struggled last year due to bone chips that he got removed. Pitchers tend to recover nicely from that surgery, and he should be ready for 2020. I like the idea of a shorter deal for him than 3 for Hendriks.
  2. Tony’s only going to be around a few years. We’ve already seen he’s not going to go crazy and unload the entire farm. I wouldn’t worry too much, but I couldn’t agree more about your concerns against RHP.
  3. I don’t think they’re finished by any means either. Just hoping you’re accurate and they have more than 15 million left. I know I trust Bruce more than you
  4. If Not Cishek is to be believed, McCann wanted out last offseason
  5. Because other teams want a closer also, and someone like Colome has earned the right to close somewhere.
  6. Because Kenny thought they needed more fire
  7. Is this in regards to what Bruce reported today? I saw where he said the budget is 30 million. Only issue is that is including Lynn and Eaton, so they would only have 15 million to spend if correct.
  8. Of course, you know I agree with that. Heck, I’m advocating trading Grandal and 15 million dollars to Phillies (or Mets) for a good prospect and signing McCann.
  9. They can’t afford Brantley or Pederson compared to Eaton, as that extra 5-7 million is hopefully being allotted towards closer.
  10. Twins will make some moves also in the next few months. I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re the ones that target Darvish, and Musgrove makes sense to them as well. Also some talk about them going after a SS.
  11. To be honest, no. Was surprised when that rumor came out. But then I let the “Tony created a closer” argument change my mind. Now after thinking about it more, I could see them not wanting 13 million tied up on a closer two years from now.
  12. Why, no one has signed for less than people thought they would yet? There’s just no rush for these teams right now. Some article today quoted an NL GM as saying they had basically no discussions during the Winter Meetings.
  13. A lot of teams still don’t have their operating budgets. Contracts absolutely could rise over the next few months if attendance estimations rise the next few months.
  14. In a related story, chewing tobacco is now legal in Little League
  15. If the Mets are looking at various options and teams like the Phillies are in flux, Hendriks has no reason to rush his decision. There’s a reason no free agents of substance have picked a team yet. We got spoiled by two moves in 12 hours. I feel like the insider accounts for everyone a little too optimistic it would happen soon.
  16. I don’t want him if this means Julie Dicaro becomes a Sox fan
  17. Sounds like a Supreme Court issue with Chief Justice Jose Abreu
  18. They will definitely still make a move for a starting pitcher and reliever.
  19. The only possible hope for Hendriks is if the source was referring to Bauer or Springer in terms of big splash money and not closer money.
